reference IEM are the reason why i own a lot of IEM and over ears and yet i am mostly using my car stereo, some cheap computer speakers or mainstream wireless earbuds, i want to love a song in my trashy EDC so i can get home, plug my overcomplicated system and hear every single detail of the song to experience it again.
Agree with everything in this vid - the inoffensive tuning makes it great for any song for any genre. Despite that i can easily pick apart bass, mids and treble to hear sounds and instruments i've never heard before. And for its price the build quality is so good i can comfortably use them while running and as a daily driver for school/work without worrying about getting them dirty or beat up as i would with more expensive iems.
Been thinking of upgrading from my Hexa's after 2 years but can't really justify upgrading especially after EQ-ing it to the KE4, Explorer, EM6L and Supermix 4's. The difference in tuning while keeping the technicalities really breathed fresh air into the Hexas with a more fun and exciting signature. Highly recommend the pair especially with Spinfit W1's.
Je a is a mini B2, but having both I hardly ever listen to the he a any more. If you like this kind of tuning look for a used B2 maybe? Technicalities are 2 tiers above, and although bass graphs lower, it is much better
It's weird that the Hexa is hyped as a cheap Blessing 2, but somehow everyone forgets that the Moondrop Lan is also a mini Blessing 2, but no shout, no wide nozzle issues, at half the price of the Hexa.
Honestly Hexa is a fantastic IEM for the asking price. People need to shell out almost double from it to experience an upgrade. Truthears actually priced these quite well. Good video Timmy!!
Yeah, that's what I noticed when I got mine, the bass felt non-existant but maybe my previous ones just had more bass. I got used to it after a while and it stopped bothering me.
@@kona328WH Well I can, but… 1. I still enjoy the current analog tuning of it (I use it whenever I want to relax or want a mid-centric listening experience). 2. I’ve tried to EQ it myself, but it only improves the quantity of the punch, not the quality.
The Hexa are great for monitoring live audio, which is solely why I bought them. I don't like using them to listen to music, but for Live Audio applications they're fantastic. My largest complaint is the cable is terrible, even in it's price bracket, and there's no nesh or anything covering the holes in the nozzle.
Got it, love it, still my daily driver. I don't think it's boring - quite the opposite actually - and against all opinions about it not having enough bass, I use it with widebore eartips because I think the bass is overbearing when used with narrowbore tips. Nozzle is quite large, lucky for me I got large ear canals. But I gave it to some friends who cannot get it in their ear. So be warned.
The Hexa is indeed awesome for under 100$! I hope Truthear KEEPS the big nozzle for the next version. To me, it's what fits best. The Hola just wouldn't stay in my ears whatever eartips I would try. The Hexa and Zero Red... Just perfect 😎 Just wish QC would be better... But hey, it's Chi-Fi !
already sold my hexa.. last time i remembered, i got mindblown with hexa when change the eartips, divinus velvet, dunu s&s, and especially tangzu sangcai are the best pair for hexa
I've been using it for a week more than 20 hours with high volume and still went back to dunu titan s. Titan s sounds more realistic for me because of the fuller mids.
Were those iems shown when you said "compare with other meta tunned iems at the hnagout" right? So that means the Dusk has a meta mode? Thanks for Vid.
i do own the Truthear Zeros, cant wear them longer than 30 Minutes, or use ultra thin tips, which sound horrible. So far my daily drivers are parametric tuned moondrop chuu 2's. To my ears they have yet to be beaten by others as allrounder IEMs to have always on me. (sidenote, they co-exist with sony wf 1000xm5s for when i need wireless or noise canceling on the go. But if i want to enjoy music and can go cable... )
What could be a better more sparky high end IEM? I have the zero res still deciding if I keep it or go for the hexa or something that’s more exiting to listen to I like vocals with nice harmonics
i dont have anything against truthear, but man, the large ass nozzles are really a problem for a lot of people, there is, supposedly, new Zero blue and new hexa versions in the making, i really hope they reduced the size of the nozzle, that alone ruined the experience of a LOT of people.
*Phew*… the video is about the Hexa (which I have a pair of). I am not an audiophile, or even a knowledgeable person in audio, so my opinions on the Hexa are to be taken with a pinch of salt. They are fine. They sound good but I have nothing really to say about them. That might be the “boring” bit that was mentioned in the video. Other than my usual complaint. I am still a big fan of symmetrical (“J cables”) and no one that I am aware of still make any IEMs with an asymmetrical cable.
hexa is still the best tuned iem on the market. Even better than mega5est. Just wish the dd was a bit better quality for the bass. Can't wait for the Truthear Pure (basically the Hexa 2).
i got the reds, but they just stick out of my hears a lot because my ears are pretty small despite having mediums in most eartips I've tried. Getting the hexa hoping that fits better
Since Timmy put the Alba almost at Dusk level on his scale, I don’t trust it. To me it was barely at Aria level. It’s too subjective and misleading I think
I got Hexa very recently and honestly a bit disappointed. They sound quite shouty, too much treble (thanks to the 3 and 8 kHz peaks) while the bass and mids are supressed. Yes, it's not V shaped but this is not neutral. I had to eq those 3&8kHz peaks out, raise treble a bit so they would sound OK. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't get the hype around them at all. They caused not "wow" but more "wtf" reaction.
My default under 100 is my er2se. I love my er2se. Ive listened to hd800 linueup from Sennheiser, to me the er2se sound better than those 1k+ headphones
I actually prefer the Project Reds over the Hexa (have both). I use the Project Reds with the (small) Render tips with the foam removed. Gives a perfect seal for me, the canal pressure is not an issue and the full dynamic range is noticeably better than the stock tips. Tons of bass response and good details. Has a softer sound than the Hexa, but that's what I prefer. For $55 + $15 for the tips, it's insane value. These sound better than my $1,000 UE10Pro custom IEMs from 2006. We've come a long way in 20 years.

As a hexa owner i highly recommend it and this is coming from someone who only used kz before hand, the hexa is fantastic
is it that much better compared to something like the kz sz 10 pro x ?

I can half-imagine Timmy singing into that caliper in a karaoke bar.
Dame da ne~
The Hexa is one set I wish I'd got earlier. It did wow me quite a bit at the time
I heard truthear cooking up new ‘hexa’
Watch it be named Octa or something 🔥
Truthear "Pure", less technicality but a warmer more musical sound (apperantly)
Hexa 2 Im guessing
And an even fatter nozzle. Truthear love them nozzles big
Which is the reason this video exist. They are trying to sell the remaining stock before the new one hits the market.

Hexa made me fall in love with neutral tunning
Hands down my favorite IEM. I keep coming back to this model as it just suits my music taste and hearing range.
It's weird that the Hexa is hyped as a cheap Blessing 2, but somehow everyone forgets that the Moondrop Lan is also a mini Blessing 2, but no shout, no wide nozzle issues, at half the price of the Hexa.
😂 so I see eq, which is unique .
Same technicalities ?
they do not have the same technichal performance at all. by that argument why ever get blessings then just get lan?
@@sylvestreslThat's... That's not what they said... Where did you get this conclusion
Somehow lan sounds bad for me

Been using them for 2 days and it’s so easy and lovely and light and I could listen to it all day.
It would be cool if the Hexa has more punchy bass imo.
One of the best sub $100 IEM even in 2024.
It’s coming
Yeah, that's what I noticed when I got mine, the bass felt non-existant but maybe my previous ones just had more bass. I got used to it after a while and it stopped bothering me.

Can't you eq it for more punchy bass?
@@kona328WH Well I can, but…
1. I still enjoy the current analog tuning of it (I use it whenever I want to relax or want a mid-centric listening experience).

Got it as my first iem on a lunar new year sale. No regrets its awesome sound for this little money
I keep hearing about this new meta tuning. Where can I learn or read more about it and why it's preferred over other tunings?
Because its meta
Because the Hexa has a large nozzle, I got the Moondrop Lan instead, which is similarly neutral
Hexa owner here, the clarity and separation is fantastic
As an ex Hexa owner the only con for me was the bass, the quantity was fine but the issue was the tightness of it, it just felt weak to me.
I agree mine sits in the draw simgot ew100 sounds better to me and is alot cheaper price
My first iem, loved it
Same here
Me too
Hexa or moondrop may ?? Im confused
The hexa are great. My only complaint it the nozzle size, but I also have relatively small ear canals. For 95% of people it'll be amazing

TRUTHEAR Hexathunder hexa or simgot ew300 DSP, What is better to choose?
Yep, now I just want some bass after the neutral iems 😂
I was a hexa owner, sent it back. Timeless is more ...well timeless. Go timeless 7hz
I keep hearing about the Hexa. Maybe I should replace my Truthear Zeroes and Moondrop Aria with them.
I've been using it for a week more than 20 hours with high volume and still went back to dunu titan s. Titan s sounds more realistic for me because of the fuller mids.
A lot of people haven't got a deep enough insertion for the bass which is then far from neutral and not liked it so much as a result.
does the hexa have BA timbre?
