I decided to just skip the champions for a completion this time. Half because I don't have much time this week and didn't want to spend another 30 minutes in tedious areas. And I'm also not sure if it's still weird about Platinum Rank with Champions. All it does is make the two most boring parts even longer - the Ogre Boss Fight and leadup to boss. The challenging sections were always the boss fight and the elevator, both of which are made fairly trivial with invis and the changes now. The boss fight changed so that you can stand on the outer islands and just deal with everything safely. Overall damage seems to be much less too, partly due to how strong mods are now. All in all, compared to the first time this was a Grandmaster, comparatively it's quite easy. No invis runs are definitely possible and likely won't be too much harder now. I'll do those and platinum runs later in the season when there's nothing else to do, so it leaves me some content to be able to post during the massive void leading up to Witch Queen. Which is why I haven't bothered posting many alternate runs yet, otherwise I won't have anything to post during the content drought.
Luckyy10p did it and got gold, and I swear they killed all the champions. They said they musta had 1 or 2 despawn, but I didnt notice, so still seems buggy. Its the most tedious strike in the game, let alone as a GM, so I dont think anyone blames you for skipping champs.
@@tomkrueger6556 it would have to be a trio of guardians. one of each class (all of his characters) that never work together, but seemingly know secrets to the light that no other guardian does. They share intel among one another as a sign of respect, but refuse to put any other guardian at risk.
Here are some tips for anyone wanting to solo this without invis. I did it as Contraverse Warlock, took me roughly 1:20 on master, since I died a buch to random one shots like Sedia's Hexblast and gave up on GM completion. The difference is not that big, especially since the champions spawn in parts where you can deal with them safely and relic is only relevant during elevator -Loadout: Witherhoard, Tyrany of Heavens and Threaded Needle. There is possibility to use new seasonal bow if you dont have Tyrany and it might be better in certain parts, since its arc and arc knights are the biggest problem there. If you have good Tarantula, you can use that but arc shielded hive knights are fu**ing cowards that run away from you when you break their shields, so you would waste your heavy for amost nothing. Also I used elemental well mods (explosive, healing, resist, tracking and spawn on grenade) since they are clutch during boss and elevator parts with 10 seconds of uninterupted healing. Also, witherhoard can spawn them so you will get buch of them from red bars. Other mods, dont use Particle Deconstruction, you will never have enough time/ammo to take advantage of it. Instead, use void class mod to lower you class ability since rift is such a strong tool for this, especially near the end -the begginging is just slow and steady, kill everything with grenade and use cover to kill overloads -elevator takes a lot of practice, one particular trick is to shoot witherhoard, swap to bow, overcharge your grenade and after maybe a second you throw it your witherhoard should be reloaded so you can cover much bigger ground. -save your super for second set of knights and run inside the circle. Since you dont have radar, you have to know where they are. If you use elemental wells, you can play a bit aggressively. When you break one shield, use witherhoard, super and possibly heavy to kill him quickly -dont hide behind pillars near the relic, their pushback can go through the pillar (learned that the hard way, also the reason why I completed this on master and not on GM) -save about three heavy shots for potential stuns but you can outrange ogres after elevator easily. Use the rest on minibosses on elevator -in hallway with two ogres, you can either stay back and kill them from stair leading up to the hall, but after that you need to run through and its really, really tought. Instead, wait for the first pull and jump up right. There is small "observatory" that you can hang around and all enemies will have to climb stairs near the gate at the end to even target you. Give them a bit of grenade and witherhoard. -if you kill non-taken ogre first, you will have to exit the hallway with shriekers, that are much much harder to deal with than knights that you can jump over. so kill the taken ogre first -when you kill him, there is buch of red bars and knights with shields that you need to deal with. in this observatory, you can jump down to small ledge under it without "joining allies" and kill them with grenade and WH. be careful since they can jump on this too, but they will teleport away after few seconds since its too far from their spawn point and there is no way back for them to take - up until the boss its fairly easy, kill everything with bow. overload bow is insanely useful since it makes invisible enemies dark and easier to see/shoot their head - during first phase, after you use your fifth relic jump over to the middle and use your super. if you are fast enough, it will lock on to sedia and not some random thrall since they are not spawned yet -near the end, when you climb all the way up, kill the enemies and jump onto the ring with sedia, run straight into the pillar, the knockback will do notthing and you can continue running around. -you can sort of confuse the boss if you go to the other side of this ring and run between the relic and the crack on the floor and she will fire her knockbacks around you. huge bonus to this strat is that if you are not in the air, the knockback will do almost nothing and if it pushes you down, you can actually climb back up if you face the edge of the platform (you can see it in video around 45:00 how to deal with knockback, basically just walk into it) -try to stay on ground. If you see her circle that knocks you up, sprint and slide out of it, for some reason it saved me multiple times when I though I was dead -SAVE SUPER FOR CAPTAINS, they are single most dangerous enemies in this and can kill your run with few shots. -last third of sedia's health is kind of a coinflip, sometimes she just hangs around and not shoot much and sometimes she blasts you the moment you pick relic and you die to one shot. try to have some obstacle behind you and her, but there is not much else I can recommend Anyway, I hope this helps someone, I probably lost around ten years of my life just from the frustration from this nightfall. There is no side characters. It’s canon that there are guardians (us) that are out in the field doing stuff. To him (us) we are those hunters who scout shit out and the warlocks who die and the Titans who fight the shit befor he (the guardian) goes in to do whatever he needs to do.
as a hunter main, i enjoy watching when you do solo hunter stuff. Still need to do a GM with arc staff for that triumph down the road Awesome Content dude!

I got to the part where you jumped down the abyss. Hit the side of the floating rock and died. I sat there with my mouth wide opened for about 5 minutes. If I made past that, I had no doubt I would have beaten it

Might I suggest one little thing to the great Esoterick? When you throw a grenade, throw a smoke right after, you’ll get your smoke back and it refunds a bit of your grenade. I’m sure you know this but have just developed a habit of dodging to get your smoke back. Wish me luck, I haven’t completed it solo yet.

I have one question: Destiny 2 - this is a game about hunters and warlocks, right? I heard that there is another class in this game but nobody using it in endgame. What do you think about this? @InstintoGaming really?) Then why in most cases if I found a fireteam they kicking me because I am a titan? If you look on fireteam list you will see - everybody looking for warlocks or hunters. Titan cant do damage on range and cant survive in grandmaster like another classes. That's why titans is the worst class in Destiny 2 now. And it is terrible.

If charged with light is disappearing after a kill check your mods, you may have High energy fire on which uses a stack of charged with light every time you kill.
I might be missing something, but at 25:51 if you didn’t have CwL active and Protective light mod on, then the boss would have one shot killed you there.
Nope, not true. Protective light only helps against follow up attack and did literally nothing here. he survived purely because he has arc resistance and concussive dampener
Amazing job.. I'm guessing this GM isn't possible to solo with Titan or Warlock? Seems like invis is absolutely necessary. Now if someone could solo this GM with a Titan or Warlock, then they very well might be the best PvE player in the game! EDIT: Just read OPs comment and I guess he'll be doing solo Titan and Warlock runs later in the season. Probably during the drought of this month leading up to the Anniversary Pack is my guess.
I hate this strike so badly, took me 22 minutes with a bunch of randoms to complete because i and another dude died during the ogre phase and we respawned in the area of the ogre we already killed with no way to get to the other ogre. Is this just a way to screw us over? We finally get some more vanguard xp and we get this trash. Guess i'll just do normal strikes then..
Hey Eso, I run 70 mobility so that when heart of the pack is active I have 100. Is it much better to have 100 or am I ok with 70? And just by looking at the time it took you compared to last year, much faster. Is it easier than Glassway now?
He skipped many champions that add a ton of time, that's the main reason for the speed increase. He talks about it in the description. I would think you would ideally want 100 mobility at all times to make your dodge come back as quickly as possible at all times, regardless if you have the buff or not. I also think the amount of energy you get from the "Utility Kickstart" mod scales with how much mobility you have.

Play titan and use thundercrash. Play warlock and spam arc souls. Hunter is literally the worst pve subclass when talking about arc

There are two dodge options with hunter, the first you'll reload when dodgin the second is you'll get a melee charge.

Amazing job.. I'm guessing this GM isn't possible to solo with Titan or Warlock? Seems like invis is absolutely necessary. Now if someone could solo this GM with a Titan or Warlock, then they very well might be the best PvE player in the game!
EDIT: Just read OPs comment and I guess he'll be doing solo Titan and Warlock runs later in the season. Probably during the drought of this month leading up to the Anniversary Pack is my guess.

I hate this strike so badly, took me 22 minutes with a bunch of randoms to complete because i and another dude died during the ogre phase and we respawned in the area of the ogre we already killed with no way to get to the other ogre. Is this just a way to screw us over? We finally get some more vanguard xp and we get this trash. Guess i'll just do normal strikes then..

Hey Eso, I run 70 mobility so that when heart of the pack is active I have 100. Is it much better to have 100 or am I ok with 70? And just by looking at the time it took you compared to last year, much faster. Is it easier than Glassway now?
He skipped many champions that add a ton of time, that's the main reason for the speed increase. He talks about it in the description. I would think you would ideally want 100 mobility at all times to make your dodge come back as quickly as possible at all times, regardless if you have the buff or not. I also think the amount of energy you get from the "Utility Kickstart" mod scales with how much mobility you have.
