I live in Salem, and I can’t come up with the words to tell you how phenomenal this downtown party is. The weather is perfect, the people are fun and friendly, the police are very polite and helpful, but they are at-the- ready and quite alert. Bring your families back again next year! 🧙♀️💞
I was there and I was on shrooms. Almost walked into a tourist trap. Noticed guys trying to take advantage of girls that were under the influence. I should have visited with better friends.
Okay that's awesome. I love the bands. Do they always have them in the same spot every year? Do you know what time they start playing? I've been looking online for different events happening on the 31st but I can't find any listings. Thanks for sharing!! I can't wait to visit.
I'm not 100% sure about the bands as far as where they set up and what time they started playing. My guess is that at the least they'd probably have one set up near the train station where the fireworks were set off (on Washington St). Also they'll probably have a DJ in the bandstand on the Salem common again. I'd also guess the Derby St. spot will be set up again too. If I find concrete info I will share it.
Question for someone who spends a lot of time in Salem for Halloween…. Are the night crowds like this every night in October? Or is it just closer to Halloween or just the weekends?
Yes october weekends are very chaotic.. especially closer to halloween.people are literally everywhere, streets blocked off, long lines to get into places, parking is a nightmare.. Halloween night is definitely the most packed tho, hope this helps🎃

I was there too! I walked a total 10 miles on Halloween and my feet are killing me😂
I went there with my family this year! I will never forget how wonderful it was, I felt so at home there. I'd certainly love to go back next year. ❤️
