That's the beauty of Sonic levels. You're mid level and already wants to replay it to try a different route or move and get better ranks.

also: replaying Sonic levels really is part of the experience, that's how you really come to appreciate the level designs / setpieces and your own skills improving. I literally have 90+ hours on Sonic Generations (and god knows how many hours in Unleashed) purely from replaying levels cause they're fun

oh my god. you get it.
replaying the levels, the memorization, the better reaction time, you got it holy shit!!
also, skyscraper scamper is gonna eat you alive but it's one of the best in the game

VOD watcher here, I'm glad you enjoyed Arid Sands, it is in my opinion one of the best levels in the game: it incentivizes you to replay the level multiple times to look for shortcuts because the normal routes can slow you down hard, while shortcuts are high risk high reward as they can save you a lot of time and makes the pacing a lot faster and more fun; especially if you want to get Arid Sand's achievement of beating the level in less than 2m 50s
Also watching you play makes me want to boot up my ps3 and play the game again lol

We as sonic fans, this is what we want, to see you going back replaying old levels to improve your skills. Nothing better than seeing hours of replaying old levels to improve. Do as you want, take as much time you need while streaming sonic unleashed to get better!! And to mention, improving Sonic’s speed level also really effects your speed in the stages, but your skill effects the flow of the stages!

That's the soul of Sonic games!
Replaying the levels over and over to get better and faster, having to earn your speed and flow instead of it being given to you for free
It's something a lot of new players tend to struggle to get at first, since they expect a Sonic game to be just about going fast all the time without obstacles to slow you down.
I'm glad you're getting it so quickly!

    Three useful shortcuts in
Arid Sands - Day Act 1
3:20:23 You can jump before this drop and homing attack an enemy to avoid the wall jump area down below
3:21:18 You can jump immediately after the loop to reach a dash ring to skip the slow path. Would recommend boosting in case you miss it.
3:31:44 You can jump, reach that dash ring which sends you into a spring, then boost in the air to skip the slow path

      @@MarcoMeatball Also,
❗Alert❗(this is an advice that will really really help you at the game idk if u wanna take it or not)
On the 3rd stream I *really* recommend you to go back to the old stages and practice them. bc the other stages that you'll encounter will TEAR YOU APART from the difficulty. From what I've seen so far, I recommend you practice the Day stages focusing on:
      Sonic's movement
bc from what I've seen so far tbh.
You're slipping too much sometimes (especially shamar) or not drifting on right time. And if you're still gonna be on that way, yeaah, ur gonna HATE the last day stage
      And
I recommend you practice on the Night stages focusing on:
      Combat.
      Also a very helpful tip
the *Y* combos are more powerful and made for focusing on 1 direction.
The *X* combos are less powerful and made for dealing with all directions.

The night time boss theme is one of my favorite tracks in the game! The main theme motif with the jazzy instrumentation hits different while you suplex a big bird.
I agree that the sun and moon medals weren't the best designed mechanic. The thing that makes the daytime levels especially so fun is that you can start picking up on all the little ways to blast through sections as fast as possible, and slowing down to find hidden little tokens is sort of the polar opposite of that. At least it gives you an excuse to stare at the environments!
I'm glad you warmed up to the challenge of Dragons Road! It's true that it's tricky, but more roadblocks lead to more satisfaction when you do get it right.
I adore Endless Possibility, its one of the most early 2000s punk(? alt rock? I'm not too great with genres) songs I've heard and it fits the feeling of the game to a tee. Don't know where you're going to go, but with the power in you, you'll make it where you need to be!
I'm glad you're getting into it and replaying these stages! It's fun to try and stay in that flow state for as long as possible.

I have myopia so it was hard for me to beat some dark levels when I was a kid before glasses. But I remember thinking that I could never touch the Phoenix boss (couldn't notice the flames) and actually beat it by using only water barrels... (On the PS2 version at least)

i know it'd be a lot of work, but if SEGA ever decides to remaster Unleashed, I really hope they allow TTYD Remake levels of elaboration on the soundtrack. Battle renditions of the night level tracks would be so cool. If anything, maybe they just reserve the general battle theme to the bigger / final arena in the stage or something and allow the night level track to play uninterrupted.

    • @KeltkeGH
      @KeltkeGH 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +4

I'd be happy with an option to disable the night battle theme as well, if they don't do this

I'm excited to see how you'll continue to enjoy this game!
Can I ask you to check a single S-Rank run or too on already completed day stages? I just WISH you had an idea how many paths this game has and how even the slowest stage is still non-stop action!
    Much love.

i never had a level gating problem at all. a lot of good games do it and no one complains, why is this any different? it encourages exploration, and you get a lot of them naturally, especially if you replay levels. you can replay them in the later game when you're more upgraded so the levels are easier = shorter

Everyone were hating on it because:
      1)Horrendous performance
