Anyway, great video and keep it up❤.
Also side note, but one of the DLC night stages for Windmill Isle gives the most EXP in a single run. Over 60 bars worth if done right. For anyone reading this that has the DLC, that's your best place to grind. Otherwise, you'll be playing late game night stages usually. For rings and exp to speed things up a bit more.
So I bought the DLC to help with the grind because I heard that one of the Apotos Night stages was amazing for DLC grinding in quick time. But because I spent some time eating hero sandwiches, I didn't end up needing it at all. Would be a much quicker way to grind it out.
@@mastertrainergaming combining food with the playthroughs is actually the fastest way without the DLC. The hotdog missions would have given a massive chunk of that exp though. I think they're even cheaper than the Hero Sandwiches depending on how good you are at the missions.
Speeding Ticket was insane, having to find the best shortcuts and executing them flawlessly. And this was a time where I didn't have regular access to internet, so I had to figure that out myself, at the least all I could look up was the description (aside from "Become the fastest thing alive"). Eggmanland is something else. The first time I cleared that stage I maxed out the time counter - at the roller coaster section. What really ticks me off though is I was able to clear it three times without dying for Hardboiled, but never could finish a regular run without dying to see how high of a score I could get. That said Eggmanland still stands out to me as the most impressive final stage of any Sonic game before or since; that stage was 10 years in the making and it delivered.
Loved this series and your content in general! Would love to see Sonic 2006 or the Adventure games! Either way I am excited for what the future holds with your content.
FINALLY! someone who also did an vid of this platinum i did it a year ago and it was MOSTLY pretty horrible (YEAH IM TALKING TO YOU HOT DOG VENDOR MISSION!)
Honestly surprised there wasn't a trophy requiring all S Ranks on all stages. I know from experience that THAT is easily the hardest challenge in any Sonic game period, ESPECIALLY if you're including the insanely difficult DLC stages.
Yeah, I was really surprised at that too! Was honestly wondering why there werent, but I kinda thank my stars that its not there to make an already tough platinum even tougher
I’m trying to get all the platinums for all mainline sonic games I have on PlayStation consoles. Right now I’m tackling ps3 with generations (almost got it on an old childhood account, but it’s a fresh trophy set on my current account), as well as unleashed (which I started a new game on because I haven’t played it in years). I’m not sure yet if you made a vid on OG generations, if so, I’ll have to check it out. But this video, believe it or not, is helping me prepare for unleashed once I finish Gen. it’s cool to watch someone else’s platinum journey.
Awesome! I'm glad you've found some ideas and help for your own platinum journey! Ill be releasing guides for the Sonic Unleashed hot dog missions in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled :)
Congrats on the plat man! This is my favorite game of all time but always played it on xbox but 3 years ago i subscribed to psnow to replay sonic unleashed and got the platnium there and for me it wasnt hard since i been playing as kid but it was very time consuming. Would i do it again yes and no. Yes for if it gets a ps5 port or remaster. No for getting all achievements on xbox lol. But congratulations and welcome to the platinum for sonic unleashed
Thank you so much! Its a hell of a time to platinum haha, and very time consuming too, I agree. I'd happily replay Unleashed on PS5, espeially with a different set of trophies!
40:44 . i like how you are literally on the final of Unleashed, and you have the RIGHT FINAL BOSS MUSIC! DARK GAIA PHASE 2 WITH SUPER SONIC FOR 1 FINAL WIN 🏆!!!!!!!
That celebration at the end I felt that you made kid you proud that you got the platinum trophy ❤ I enjoy watching the vid glad I found this channel and now subbed
this is my favourite Sonic game of all time, but I went above and beyond for the completion. as well as the Platinum, I collected all of the optional books tapes and records which give me artwork cutscenes and music to interact with in Professor Pickle's lab. and after that, I got an S rank on every main stage in the game, every act 1, every act 2 or 3 hidden in the gameplay hubs, and every boss fight as well. Eggmanland can be beaten in around 12 minutes on a perfect S rank run if you take all the fastest routes damageless and skip every single optional enemy encounter in the level. I was playing the version on the Xbox Series S store which has a much better framerate compared to the ps3 version, as well as faster loadtimes and slightly better graphics. BUT, the reason why I played this version is that every continent gets new DLC stages, which have new acts for both gameplay styles as well as harder variants for most if not all act 1's in the game and Windmile Isle Act 2 Day. I am currently working on S ranking all of those levels too
@@mastertrainergaming I recommend it just for the better performance, but also cuz now that you know all the levels better. and these DLC levels WILL challenge you, I know you said you prefer the more difficult levels and reaction times in this game than in Generations so you will get the challenge you want
I really appreciate what this game is, and the potential the boost formula had on the series. Its a shame it wasn't realised properly, and ended poorly with Forces.
@@mastertrainergaming It's the last Sonic game to truly feel "complete" before Frontiers honestly? It's a full length adventure with a full story, and I think after this game we didn't get that for a LONG while and that was quite a shame. It's got a lot of problems but as a complete package it's totally worth experiencing. I think it's worth noting this game was effectively concieved as "The Last Sonic Game", there's a sense of finality to it all, that if this was what they went out on they'd give it there all. It's why Eggmanland is such a big deal, this endgoal built up over nearly a decade of stories finally being realized, and being the single most brutal deathtrap Eggman could possibly design, possibly the final challenge for Sonic to ever overcome and that's great in that context? To have Sonic run off into the sunset, I really appreciate the game for that at least.
I’m literally getting a PS3 in a few days. I’m already known for super hard platinums. I will be doing this Day 1 when it arrives. I look forward to it and I’ve played every other boost sonic game except this version of Unleashed.
Hey I came back to watch this again and this is fire I got the plat back in September I’m going for the Japanese version of this game in December when I get it for Christmas it’s my favourite game in this series Also cant wait to see your sonicxshadow genarations video keep up the good work bro👍
I don't get why people don't just boost into the egg beetle instead of homing attack it. It let's you hit it like 3 times before he starts attacking again and saves so much time. Also applicable for the egg devil ray.
Thanks for the video, Master Trainer Gaming! I appreciate your thoroughness and since this game does have quite a bit of content I didn't mind the longer length. A shorter video for a game like this would have been rushed. By the way, I have some questions and some suggestions for you. 1 Do you have all the DLC for Sonic Unleashed? You could probably make an entire video covering all the DLC for this game alone. 2 Speaking of DLC, do you have all the DLC for a game like Sonic 06? If not, I recommend you get the all the DLC for that game and any other Sonic game that has it as well. You'll save yourself a lot of trouble if you already have all the DLC already on hand. The Xbox live marketplace isn't going to be around forever, and it will be very difficult to get your hands on the DLC like this if the marketplace is already down for good by the time you get to it. That's especially true for Sonic 06 since considering how awful that game is and the damage it did to the franchise, I don't see it ever being rereleased. 3 When you cover Sonic Lost World, which version are you going to play? The Wii U version has exclusive Nintendo themed levels and a 2 Player mode other versions don't have. I've heard you can mod a PC to play the Nintendo themed content, but I haven't heard of you being able to play the 2 Player mode on a modded PC. 4 How are you going to handle Sonic Colors since both the original version and the remaster are already out? Are you going to make a longer than average video covering both at once, covering them both in separate videos, or do you even know yet? 5 I have an idea for another Sonic related series you can do for this channel. It would be covering aspects of Sonic games that don't contribute into either acquiring the Platinum or getting 100% of the game like the 2 Player modes of SA2, Heroes, Shadow 05, Sonic 06, Sonic Riders, Sonic Riders Zero Gravity, and Sonic Lost World. You can call this series Sonic Extras Sure getting 100% in games like SA2 and Heroes involves A ranking missions unlocking alternate costumes for 2 Player mode in SA2 and additional 2 Player options in Heroes, but that only involves unlocking aspects of 2 Player mode, not actually playing it. I think you can give the modes of these games have a more in-depth look if you made it their own series. 6 For the Sonic Extras series, the first video I suggest you could make would be the extra content of Sonic Generations like the trophy room, the pinball minigame, and completing it's port of Sonic 1 with the good ending. I recommend that since you've already covered Sonic Generations, it's remaster hasn't been released at the time I'm making this comment, the content is small but notable enough to be it's own video. I don't mean to pressure you, but if you would be able to make a video covering all that and be able to release it by Sonic's birthday of June 23 that would be pretty nice piece of side content. However, is this suggestion doable for you, or do you think it would be too much since you already have another Sonic Platinum that you want to do?
Hey! Thanks for watching! 1) I have 1 pack. I bought it because I thought it might help with the levelling grind for Power Overwhelming but I ended up not needing it. 2) I'm going to see about getting the 06 DLC eventually, but I gotta track down a 360 first. Might make it a priority as I know the eShop closes soon. 3) For Lost World I'll do Steam. My focus for my content right now is achievement/trophy hunting, and the Wii U version doesn't have that. 4) It'll be Colours Ultimate that I'll tackle :) 5) An interesting idea! I like the idea of covering extra parts, but I feel like I've got a mission and a specific niche here that I'm still exploring. Making that content for the sake of it at the expense of other content that fits the channel better may not be the best idea right now. I've had similar thoughts regarding non-trophy content, and I do have some ideas in mind that could work (community suggestion challenges, discussions about specific gameplay aspects, tier lists etc). But I dont have a lot of free time right now. Thank you for the suggestions and feedback though! I really appreciate it :) My next platinum run is due to release on Sonic's birthday this year, as long as everything goes to plan :)
I _would_ have the Platinum, except my version is the 360. BUT, I also added the collection of every single S Rank in the entire game, DLC included! And that makes Gaia Wasps even more aggravating, since they like to hover outside of your Critical Attack range... the same Critical Attack that gives you a score bonus.
Ngl, this is the only sonic game I’ve ever played fully, I’ve played like a total of maybe 2 hours of the retro sonic games but that’s it, I loved this game
Man even though this was the first Boost formula game in the franchise, there was something so fluid and smooth about the day time stages that they just couldn’t recapture in the followup games afterwards. That’s not to say Sonic Generations was bad cause it was good but i dunno, i just find Sonic Unleashed Day Time stages play and flow a lot better.
I went a step further than Platinum in this game when I had it on PS3... I not only got all the DLC levels and cleared them, but I also cleared the entire game with NO upgrades except combat for the werehog (for the extra moves). Made the game significantly harder on the night stages. The lack of ring energy for daytime was noticeable too.
@@mastertrainergaming Can say this right now, getting used to the werehog controls is going to be your best friend, especially when you use unleashed mode.
34:27 Sonic when this theme plays: "Don Fachio! You will know our name! Now its Sonic time! I'm really feeling it!-" (And a bunch more Xenoblade Chronicles quotes in Sonic style that anyone else xan make :P )
That fucking hot dog mission, combined with a 40°C summer day, was what heatstroked my PS3 into the grave. Anyway, something I figured out through sheer frustration about the werehog was that you could extend jumps with one of its aerial combos (square 3 + jump I believe was the imput) and the unleashed charged heavy attack was great for deleting entire rooms if used properly. (also I almost one-shot the Eel with that strat)
@@mastertrainergaming @mastertrainergaming Yeah, I mean, the concept of Sonic in the a world based on various country, imagine Sonic running in New Deli, Russian, Mexico, Brazil (By the way, my home haha), Japan, I would love it, and think that would be a good way to explore open world in those multiples countries.
I really do hope this game is the next game to get a remaster like honestly if Sonic x shadow Genirations does good then it’s just right to bring unleashed to modern consoles he’ll they could even added extra stuff too the game
I actually got the Plat a few weeks ago, in like.. may? i think? Genuinly made me love the game. I only ever played the Wii version before which was, to that point, my fav sonic game. Now i like the Hd version a little more haha. Sure some things were downright brutal at first, but after lots of practice, i can ace Jungle Joyride, Eggmanland, nearly "perfectly", thanks to those hot-dog missions. Funny enough, i found that one Side Mission in Shamar much more infuriating, the one where you save that girl or something.
Awesome!! Yeah, I think the HD version is excellent and absolutely deserving of a remaster. It captures the Sonic essence of 'replay and improve your times' so well. Also that side mission is ROUGH.
So I don't know if it is in the PS3 version but there was a glitch on the Xbox 360 version that resulted in an infinite ring glitch where the hitbox for rings in one of the level select areas would not disappear even after collecting them. So you could just crawl or run in circles and end up with like 7200 rings in maybe an hour or 2
@@mastertrainergaming oh ok. My parents think eggmanland is hard but if you just upgrade the Werehog and the Hedgehog, it gets easier and I did just that.
Honesty, this is the best game in the known universe to me. Hell, my pfp is the album cover, planetary pieces. You cant convince me otherwise. I am willing to lay down my life for this game.
Sonic Unleashed is a hard game but Don Facchio's trophy really wasn't that hard for me (played it recently), I don't know why but Sonic games really turn me on, maybe because, in my opinion, they're unique experiencies so they are really fun.
Tbh, I have been wanting to play this game for years out of pure curiocity, but I still have not gotten around to it because my only avenue would be emulation and that keeps breaking despite people insisting that "it has been fixed for real, guys". For what it's worth, Sonic Unwiished is a great game with a largely fun 100% that is in my top 3, but liking or disliking it appearently has no bearing on if one would enjoy Unleashed at all, considering the mixed at best relationship between the fanbases.
I was trying to platinum the game in one run, but it made the game more difficult and I wasn’t having fun. So, I backtracked and just played the game like normal, enjoyed my time, and then decided to go back and handle the clean up.

I got this video game when scoring a try in Rugby & it was a blast to play, I wish I could play it again.
Nice!!
We have been waiting for this!!!
Hope you enjoy!
You hit the nail on the head; Eggmanland is brutal, but the right sort of brutal for endgame content. This experience made me really appreciate it.
Loved this series and your content in general! Would love to see Sonic 2006 or the Adventure games! Either way I am excited for what the future holds with your content.
Thank you so much! I'll be making more, been working on my next video today! Those games are definitely on the list!
This motivated me to get the platinum for myself. Tis is my favourite sonic game and I'm so grateful for you and helping me achieve it as well!

Glad I could do it! And yes, especially those last levels...Don Fachio is a menace
Probably one of the hardest Sonic games in the series

Ill be releasing guides for the Sonic Unleashed hot dog missions in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled :)
this might be the first full platinum video for this game good job! i got this last year
Is from what I can see! Thank you!
don fachio is finally defeated
FINALLY.
i love how you always say "awesome" or something after getting a trophy its so cute 😭
I noticed that haha, I have cut a fair few out as well
Imagine if Frontiers super sonic rematched Dark Gaia. He wouldn’t even need chip 💀
I'd love to see a Frontiers boss style gauntlet of some previous boss fights actually. Dark Gaia would be fantastic.
Idea: Boss rush mode in Shadow Generations
@mastertrainergaming agreed hopefully it can come to ps5 but I'm excited for the platinum for sonic x shadow generations for sure
This game plays better on series x
This game is quite possibly one of my favorite games of all time, right up there with Majora's Mask, Spyro Year of the dragon, and Silent Hill 2
You have excellent taste
40:44 . i like how you are literally on the final of Unleashed, and you have the RIGHT FINAL BOSS MUSIC! DARK GAIA PHASE 2 WITH SUPER SONIC FOR 1 FINAL WIN 🏆!!!!!!!
Music is such an integral part of Sonic, and of my videos. So I knew I needed the right music to finish.
Man i am so happy that there is a video about platinuming sonic unleashed
This game one of my childhood and i love it so much
Thank you!!
this game grew me up fr respect for the 100% completion man congrats
Thank you! I ended up completing all the side missions during this too, so the only thing I have to do for true 100% completion is the S ranks now!
Seeing you accomplish this makes me happy. Thank you 🙏🏽
I appreciate that
That celebration at the end I felt that you made kid you proud that you got the platinum trophy ❤ I enjoy watching the vid glad I found this channel and now subbed

Amazing! I dont think I could ever do it. The missions were too much for me as a kid

This has been a background project for about 6 months :)
you have my respect and a new subscriber.
can't wait to see what you go for next
Awesome, thank you! It'll be up soooon
this is my favourite Sonic game of all time, but I went above and beyond for the completion. as well as the Platinum, I collected all of the optional books tapes and records which give me artwork cutscenes and music to interact with in Professor Pickle's lab. and after that, I got an S rank on every main stage in the game, every act 1, every act 2 or 3 hidden in the gameplay hubs, and every boss fight as well. I am currently working on S ranking all of those levels too
Ohhhh damn! I nearly got all the books/tapes, but I didn't go for S ranks right now.
Maybe I'll do a fresh 100% run on Series S?
@@mastertrainergaming I recommend it just for the better performance, but also cuz now that you know all the levels better. and these DLC levels WILL challenge you, I know you said you prefer the more difficult levels and reaction times in this game than in Generations so you will get the challenge you want
Verrry glad to finally see this, hope this wasn't too damaging on your psyche because you're a stronger man than I XDD
Ayyyy awesome! All the best with it, I hope you enjoy your time!
After 10 years i finally saw how the Platinum Trophy on this game looks like😂. Good Job bro keep it up

Also cant wait to see your sonicxshadow genarations video keep up the good work bro👍
Hey great video one of my childhood games love it to pieces was wondering what the background music at 35:31 was
...And You Will Know Our Names -Xenoblade Chronicles
I don't get why people don't just boost into the egg beetle instead of homing attack it. It let's you hit it like 3 times before he starts attacking again and saves so much time. Also applicable for the egg devil ray.
Yeah I dont know if you can tell but I didn't do well on that boss. Its very much the optimal strategy.
You can call this series Sonic Extras
Sure getting 100% in games like SA2 and Heroes involves A ranking missions unlocking alternate costumes for 2 Player mode in SA2 and additional 2 Player options in Heroes, but that only involves unlocking aspects of 2 Player mode, not actually playing it.
4) It'll be Colours Ultimate that I'll tackle :)
5) An interesting idea!
I really appreciate it :)
My next platinum run is due to release on Sonic's birthday this year, as long as everything goes to plan :)
Great video, new sub here! My god the framerate in this game is super rough!
Thanks for the sub! And yeah dude, the framerate is...definitely not the best. It suffers so much in Adabat and Empire City
W game, W soundtracks.
Ooooh, nice! Well played!
Yeah, the wasps are the worst thing
yeeeeah babyyyy thats what i´v been waiting for!!

That is awesome! Its such a good trick haha
Ngl, this is the only sonic game I’ve ever played fully, I’ve played like a total of maybe 2 hours of the retro sonic games but that’s it, I loved this game
Glad you loved it!
Definitely the level design is really good and fluid but its also about how it uses speed and how the camera interacts with the level I think
11:52 bro really became Peter griffin
I'll make sure to do the laugh at sometime
I went a step further than Platinum in this game when I had it on PS3...
I not only got all the DLC levels and cleared them, but I also cleared the entire game with NO upgrades except combat for the werehog (for the extra moves). Made the game significantly harder on the night stages. The lack of ring energy for daytime was noticeable too.
So you know how I mention at the end of the video that I might be back in Unleashed soon...this is fairly similar to what I'm going to do.
@@mastertrainergaming Can say this right now, getting used to the werehog controls is going to be your best friend, especially when you use unleashed mode.
34:27
Sonic when this theme plays: "Don Fachio!
Yeah, theres definitely something with the aerial tech that can aid jumps.
I'll have to look up the Eel one!
I wish a Sonic Unleashed 2
I would be up for that actually...well, more Unleashed style boost stages mainly.

Hmmm...I'll put that to the test soon I reckon
So you could just crawl or run in circles and end up with like 7200 rings in maybe an hour or 2
I did hear about this...I think its Chun Nan, right? I didn't do it, but I'll have a look

Its a shame that emulation is the only avenue. Yeah, Unwiished was fun as far as I remember (it was my first foray into Unleashed)
I was trying to platinum the game in one run, but it made the game more difficult and I wasn’t having fun. So, I backtracked and just played the game like normal, enjoyed my time, and then decided to go back and handle the clean up.
Nice! Glad you found a way to make it more enjoyable for yourself!
Oddly enough, in the wii version, that fight against the enemies involving Amy was relegated to a quick time event. Idk why
