I did crazy research on seat’s before purchasing my Saddlemen Explorer. I just can’t find anything bad to say about it. Yes, when they are new they are firm, but not uncomfortable. Every custom seat is firm new. My wife’s comfort was paramount and she loves it so much she’s protective over it. I can ride forever with this seat. They absolutely do everything they advertise, and they look amazing. I love my seat, and because of my purchase a bunch of other riders are now using Saddlemen seats.

Just came upon this video great job describing the seat love the fact that saddlemen has great customer service. I have a strep up saddlemen seat and like it for my shorter solo trips looking at the road sofa for my longer runs. I live pretty close to you I’ll have to keep an eye out when I’m cruising the 127 route, lol. I’ll now be picking up a roadsofa thanks for the info

Great video! I am a Mustang seat fan my self. But they all tell you every butt is different. I find it strange to be 100% honest that saddlemen doesn’t have a set up that is the road sofa low so short guys can use it or the backrest stuff just add on later. With Mustang you can go back and order the backrest and mount later on and I think I’m not 100% sure the low Version like mine comes with the mount all ready built into the pan. I know other models you have to buy the mount. But your 100% corrext over buy now and thank your self later. I never thought I would want a backrest and now that I have it it’s a game changer and night and day!

Good review. My Saddlemen Renegade took about 1500 miles as well to break in. I did have some issues on long rides where I was getting incomparable and feeling pressure points in my Hams. It could have been several reasons. One the bike was not really a touring bike so the seat was a little more narrow. On the Springfield I'm waiting till my bars get here before I decide on the seat. I am down between a Corbin or the Saddlemen Kloclworks seat.
    Good review and video .

    • @BikesBeardsAndBrews

With stuff like clockworks and 03D, I would definitely look into it a little first because I'm pretty sure they're being built by other companies like Saddlemen and rebranded. So you might be paying an upcharge for something you don't need to

I purchased a standard reach road sofa for my ‘20 Ultra Limited and put 3,000 miles on it, took a while but it broke in eventually. I decided I wanted a backrest so purchased a extended reach road sofa (with backrest) and it never got more comfortable even after 2,500 miles. I had to sell it, I couldn’t go over 100 without getting tailbone pains. It’s weird that the two seats were so different for me, at 6ft tall saddlemen recommended the extended reach, I’m sorry I switched.

Also, something I've read on Saddlemen seats or any seat, they are easy to steal unless you have a lock screw that holds the rear down. I've heard of people having their seats stolen. especially expensive and high-end seats like the Saddleman... look for an anti-theft seat bolt.. just a thought

Hi. I just discovered this video when I searched for road sofa. I do a lot of long rides on my pursuit premium. I have 2 coming up this summer each will be more than 4,000 miles. Once it broke in the seat on my pursuit premium was fine, but I’ve been thinking about going to the next level and this review really helped.
I’m going to get the heated option because there have been days when I’ve been riding in the early morning in the Rockies and the day started out at 50 or a little cooler and it was really nice to turn on the grips and the seat and stay nice and toasty while riding at speed. Also getting the back rest because I broke my back last year (got hit by a car in Dubai while riding my chieftain) and as it heals it helps to be able to lean back. 🫣

I believe it's saying goodbye to my saddlemen road sofa where I bought a new road sofa with the backrest and I can tell you that that is absolutely awesome as well so you will enjoy that. I hope your back's getting much better day by day and I'm glad you can still keep the shiny side up and be on two wheels. Enjoy your riding and enjoy it on your new settlement!

Thanks for the kind words. I saw your second review a bit later. As for my back; I get hit on 8 April 2023… surgery to install two rods and six screws on 12 April. Left Dubai for Champaign Illinois, where I own a home, on 6 June. Picked up the new pursuit on 7 June and returned it for 500 mile first service on 8 June. Had to do that because I was riding with a group to Durango on 9 June. The back is much better… still healing because they take a long time to fully heal, but better and better every day.
I wanted to get on the bike as fast as possible so that the feet didn’t settle in. Glad I did. I can’t imagine not riding… wind therapy is the best therapy.
I watch a lot of your content. I appreciate what you do. Keep doing it!
