Saddlemen Road Sofa Review

  • Took a ride to Man O War Harley Davidson to Demo a Saddlemen Road Sofa. This is just an initial review and not a true road test review. I can say that I really enjoyed the comfort of the seat and can only imagine it would feel even more comfortable over time. The lumbar portion of the seat I really loved and felt like it was perfect for me and would provide great comfort for lower back and tail bone over a long distance trip.
In conclusion I have decided to buy this seat heated and with the back rest in the future. I'll do a thorough review after I but some miles on the seat.

Been looking at getting a new seat, either Mustang or Saddlemen. I really don't want to sit up any higher but don't want to lose ability to reach the ground comfortably either. You mentioned trying a mustang seat and it spread your legs. Do you know if it was a super touring deluxe or a standard touring? I've heard the super touring spreads you quite a bit, but didn't know if the standard did too.

    • @SinisterClutch

It was the super touring deluxe and it does spread your thighs out. That’s why I chose Saddlemen. I’m flat footed on the RoadSofa

Something bike owners don't realize is that new seats need to be broken in and can feel somewhat uncomfortable until then, some will need up to 500 miles to break in, give it some ride time and don't give up on the seat early on.

Love the look. And i have a mustang seat and it will drop down like a 1/2 inch once it breaks in , you will love it even more. And my mustang seat spreads my legs out but I'm 6'4 so it does not bother me that bad and keeps my legs away from the motor. My legs don't seem to get as hot. 😎👍

Hey Mr sinister.. so here it is, the end of January, wondering if you have got your new seat. Thinking about one of those exact models myself. I fully understand break in as in all chairs I need some time to adjust , just like my new lazy boy. For me a couple hours on the saddle would tell me whether or not it was going to be good. The stock seat on my 2018 SGS takes about an hour before I'm looking for a place to pull over and get off..

Great video , keep up the good work. I am thinking of this seat for my 2020 Streetglide Special , but am worried the colour in more dark grey than black , looks great on your bike but may look odd on a totally black bike. Does anyone have a photo of the seat alongside a stock one to compare the colours ? Many thanks from Steve in South West France

I bought a saddleman road sofa with the heated seat option, not much more on price, I tryed out the extended seat at first, but lost Lil bit of passenger room and it was a lot more narrow then stock seat, I later ended up switching and going with the trike seat, witch is 1”1/2 extended and is wider closer to stock but not by much... I have just did 3k mile road trip with 800 mile days and I still had to use the seat pads, air hawk and butt buffers pad. There’s no sofa on that seat.. I don’t think it’s going to get any softer then it is...14 flhtkse looks real good tho.. ps I’m guessing it’s not good in rain, they give you a special cover to throw over...

    • @SinisterClutch
      @SinisterClutch  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I haven’t tested it in rain yet but it’s supposed to be water resistant. I just assumed the rain cover was so you don’t have to wipe it down when it rains overnight. @@bigbaggerben7504 I bought it. Love it. Like I’m sure you’ve heard. It is stiff for awhile, however after about 600 miles for me it feels perfect now. Helps as shock absorption and is very comfortable. I highly recommend!

You really need to break in the Saddlemen seat, I almost took mine back at first but decided to stick with it and it got much better as it breaks in. Took about 1000 miles for me, it really does change the feel of the bike and does sit you up higher.

Bob Stubbs I’ve heard that about the 1000 mile mark. So you still enjoying it?

@@SinisterClutch I am, did 4300 miles in the saddle in August out to Sturgis and back and it was good. Don't get me wrong there isn't a seat around that keeps your butt from going to sleep after 160 miles but it was pretty good overall. I just wish I had gone for the one with the back rest, that would have been a lot of help on the long trip.

bought one with the back rest . back rest was ok, the seat was stiff as cement . Dont buy a saddlemen if your not on drugs, if youre a elderly person with bad hips knees dont buy this piece of garbage. Gave me upper thigh inner groin sever pain, within 20 miles!!!!!!!!! When your buying a new vehicle sit onto a stiff seat PASS, Bought a Mustang super deluxe installed it on my 05 Harley Road King with the back rest,it was a gold lining price, But no upper inner groin pain. i rode in one day 500 MILES !!!!!!!

It's as hard as concrete and it will still be as hard as concrete after 5,000 mi of riding a seat that's hard as concrete for no fucking reason... Why claim to want comfort when you solely go for looks? Even the factory seat blows this thing out of the water for comfort.

    • @SinisterClutch

So far it’s comfortable for me and I’ve put over 10K miles on it. It wasn’t looks for me but I’m happy with the looks. I can say after doing over 1K miles in 16:30 hours I got a little sore but that’s probably not me adjusting enough. Sorry it didn’t work out for you and hope you find the right seat for you. Take care and enjoy the ride 🤘🤙
