There so many zookeeper videos on TH-cam and I love watching them all!
Same here
There will never be enough Zoologist videos on TH-cam to quench my thirst for knowledge
It’s looks so fun to work at a zoo I love animals so much! 🦊
i feel that they are pretty underpaid. the average salary for a zookeeper is $22K, about $11 an hour. I work at a calling center for people at the end of their car lease and i make $13 an hour. These people are risking their lives feeding animals and keeping them somewhat comfortable i would hope... give them better wages damnit!!!
moloveslush they are not payed that much because the zoo knows it can pay very little and someone will want the job also they do not risk their lives the dangerous animals are locked away while they are in the cage but if they are not secured properly yes they are risking there lives
We don't do it for the money
They do it because they love it. The money is helpful, yes, and it is their chosen career, but its the love of animals that drive them to chose that career. I'm going into zoology.. And i couldn't be more excited. To heck with the money. I can't wait to get up close and personal with the animals I've dreamed about taking care of my whole life. And they arent necessarily risking their life. It's a misconception that animals will attack for no reason. Animals attack when a reason is given, and zoo animals go through training and are usually more used to people then wild animals so... We don't see it as risking our lives. We see it as living our lives.

In the uk your staring salary/ trainee zookeeper gets £13,000-£16,000 yeah in the animal industry you don’t get pains much
This is now the third or fourth time I’m watching this video lmao. I have an affinity for animals and becoming a Zookeeper sounds like the perfect job for me!
Because of your video, I started looking more into that possibility and am now currently CoOping and a Zoo near where I live!
I wanted to come on here and say thank you for helping me realize my passion! One day I hope to work at your zoo, as it has been a big part of me learning what I’d possibly like to do with my life!!
I’m so glad you enjoy it so much and that it’s helped you follow your dreams. I wish you all the best 😁
I really want to be a zookeeper when I’m older!!!!
I always feel bad for how bad of a mess our zoos food prep room is but after seeing this I don't feel as bad because theirs is the same haha
As a fellow zookeeper, I love a good food prep room. But there is something charming about their prep room. And the ones I have at my zoo, I like them being small and a bit old. Its cozy, I think at least. :)
When I’m older I REALLY want to be a zookeeper
Same lol 😂
It's great, just a lot of cleaning ...
Fantastic video mate
I'm eleven and I do a junior zoo keeper experience every year for my birthday at Blair Drummond safari park and it's amazing you get to hold the meerkats and walk the alpacas out into their field
Everything Football wow lucky in my city u can basically do nothing when ur under 18
I love the tigers
Awesome I want to be a zoo keeper but no zoo where I live lol
Do you need to go to college/university to be a zookeeper? Like, I want to be a zookeeper but I don't know where to go if you do
You need a bachelors degree in biology and zoology
You can get a degree in biology
Audrey Sullivan and zoology
you just need a bachelors degree in either zoology, biology or animal sciences
Experience is more valuable than a degree but there are animal care programs. Santa Fe College in florida has a zoo animal technology program where students are basically in charge of the zoo (instructors are there) for 5 semesters. This gives you hands on experience
It’s like you can have any pet you want
You don’t have to get approved from your parents when you want a dolphin
Not really you most times don’t really get to touch them unless they want you to.
How Does she not get scared when feeding tigers?
The person who disliked this has no soul
23:27 that would be scary
So I just found out that companion veterinarians get paid more than zoo veterinarians,I feel like zoo techs and zoo veterinarians should get paid more because they work with a lot of animals and have to learn more, but at the same time I understand because most people only have like cats, dogs, bunnies(etc.) and don’t have exotic animals,so they have to work a lot as we’ll
If any zoologist are watching may I know how much y’all get paid a year, well if y’all don’t mind
what education do you need to work at a zoo?
you need to have a lot of experience with animals (i.e volunteering work) and you also need a degree in zoology, biology, animal sciences etc
Hands in experience is more valuable than degrees in this field. I am currently struggling to get an keeper job because I chose school over experience. I'm volunteering now and hope to start unpaid internships to build my resume
Venomous not poisonous snakes.
Both are correct
poisonous snakes?! why
Venomous, snakes aren't poisonous they're venomous.
Snakes only bite if provoked. If the zookeepers are properly trained and follow the right safety procedures, there is no problem with having venomous snakes
Hahaha hahah red pandas aren't related to pandas at all their only similar in appetite
Ok I might dis like dis video but my mum sed I had to.and I am yosin my mums acant.
