    That's the way to do it. Practice...what a concept. Lol. So many rc pilots don't do it, and it shows. Well done.

      Thanks Adam, I like bashing the sticks around, but I really enjoy touch and goes.

    This is the most soft touch and go that I ever seen

    • @SteffenRC

      Thanks.... I found that with a little speed and 1/2 flap, she will just kiss the ground gently... Too slow and she'll bounce.... Glad you enjoyed it.....

      Its much easier to grease the landing when you aren't dodging roadrunners... :-)

    Not much you can do about ground looping on asphalt grass no problem depth perception and speed is everything! Nice flying 👌

    • @SteffenRC
      @SteffenRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To reduce the violent ground loop, I found with VERY subtle slow down and lots of controlled rudder is important until that tail wheel can be planted on the ground. Thanks for the comments.

    You talk the way I think to myself! So the tail weight really helps looks like? What are your settings? Other than factory.. cg? Ect. I'm a crane operator by profession RC really helps keep my claws sharp . As a community we have no problem asking each other for immoral support or proper technical advice. I have two of these . One slated for conversion to a B model with Malcom hood.

    • @SteffenRC
      @SteffenRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Chris, The CG is 92mm. It's a bit back from book..... The throws are HIGH with about 25% Expo... I usually dial in the throws after a mess of flights and then nail it there.. (no dual rates and anything to mess with). Works for me.

      @@SteffenRC right I'll go down that road rgr that! Plus im wearing way softer wheels all the way around. Doing the same on the A10 right now . thanks brotha!!

    • @SteffenRC
      @SteffenRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chrisdavis3642 I've kept the P-51 wheels stock.. I don't care for the plastic sound, but I'm used to landing on them... The A10 required some Dubro foam to wheels for sure...

    why is it with the tail dragger birds that both the 3 point landing and killing the throttle too early cause the ground loops ? i dont quite understand why keeping it in the gas on the mains prevents it from looping vs coming in without throttle assuming the same angle of attack?

    • @SteffenRC
      @SteffenRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure either.. I have a few taildraggers with a long distance between the mains and tail that aren't as sensitive to ground looping. The Eflite Ultimate 3D and my 'Merica balsa plane (I just dropped a review on it..) seldom do it. Unless I really screw up. So maybe its a mains to tail ratio or something.. Great question..

    Hey, quick question. Which 2 bladed pride, and spinner is that?

    • @SteffenRC
      @SteffenRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Casey, The prop is an APC 12x8 and the spinner is an Air Flow Spinner 3". innov8tivedesigns.com/air-flow-spinner-with-aluminum-backplate-75mm-black.html

    U just bought this plane I hope it lands good. I have the 1.2 and 1.1 t28 now

    • @SteffenRC
      @SteffenRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a wonderful plane and will land on the mains and roll out if you land with a little speed and SLOWLY reduce the throttle while managing the rudder until the tail drops and you can give full up elevator to plant the tailwheel for control.. Taxi slowly, as its tends to wander around... I really love this plane... Have fun.. If you have any issues feel free to leave another comment... - Will

    Was this a tutorial?

    • @SteffenRC
      @SteffenRC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Kinda.. I guess it depends on the definition of TUTORIAL.. I think watching this video could help the pilot of this plane land better. But the bulk of the video is just me doing some landing practice and talking to myself.. This video link has more details about the plane setup and a few instructions on landing.. (More of a tutorial...). th-cam.com/video/EUEuOYxQHOQ/w-d-xo.html

      I sure wish our field has a nice grass landing strip.. Maybe someday... I know many owners of this P-51 rake the landing gear forward a bit to help prevents flips on grass....

    until i found your channel Steffen i thought i was the only one in Rc who likes to practice scale landing and take offs? oh and Addam to from modelav8r most the foam electric flyers take off with full flaps full throttle cause they dont have any ground skills im guessing? Anyway taking off that way looks completely stupid and unrealistic. Glad to know there are some guys out there who prefer to make it look REAL

    • @SteffenRC

      @@looneytunes47 funny you say that. I’m working on a video about throttle management. Many pilots have only 3 throttle positions when the fly. I’m trying to teach that throttle is constantly moving. Some will learn ( I hope). Thanks for the comment. Btw, Adam is awesome. Great guy.
