"For many years undefeated Australian and World Snooker Champion" . Nope. He won one WC when the other pros boycotted the event in 1952. I am a huge fan of Horace's and it was watching him as a boy that sparked my lifelong passion for the game, but this kind of rampant exaggeration is a disservice to the sport. Many Australians have been guilty of the same; talking up their results. We ( Australia) have produced 3 legitimate World Champs in full-sized cue sports Walter Lindrum and Robbie Foldvari at Billiards and Neil Robertson at Snooker. We celebrate their achievements but let's keep it real.
+Peter Tankard well said. This is not an isolated instance of course. I watched some billiards recently, the WC held in Adelaide. Peter Gilchrist, a remarkably good player, won. He was advertised as the holder of the world record break, a bit more than 1400. Somewhere in there was a rider "under modern conditions". I ached to ask Mr Gilchrist "did Walter Lindrum make a break of 4137 in London in 1930, and have you made a break of 4138?
