Flew BA Business Class round trip last Dec. (‘23) San Diego-London. Price for my wife and me was approximately $7800 (a little more than double the Prem. Econ price). We felt it was worth the upgrade. Checked the price for similar trip planned for Sept. 2025. Current price for two $13,100. Worth the additional nearly $6000 up charge? Hell no.
Dynamic pricing can be crazy. You definitely caught a great deal back in December! It’s great when you can find the reasonable price drops, but during the high times it’s definitely outrageous
I was on BA 182 JFK>LHR business class. If you're confused why people go to sleep (this is for me) To minimize the effects of jet lag, I need to reset my body clock. A good night's sleep will help me feel energized and ready to go when I land in LHR at 11 AM. - this is always true for me even in economy flights. While I've never felt pressured to sleep when others were, in business class, I understand my kids often want to stay up and enjoy themselves. same with you, I had a 40% bonus points that I transferred to BA, and JFK>LHR was 50K points, which means I spent around 36K.
Oh interesting. I normally try to stay up as late as possible, basically suffer for one day/night and hopefully sleep at the correct time and be over the jet lag. But your method definitely sounds a lot less jarring so I gotta try that instead next time 😅 also 36k is a steal! Gotta love those transfer bonuses 🙌
You need to look at how BA tried (eventually succeeded) for many years to fire/forcibly retire staff who held enduring contracts and pensions and to replace those staff with new and untrained staff on lower wages and useless pensions.
Just came across your channel and really enjoyed the review. I’m a Londoner and fly BA often. It is very interesting to see the BA product being reviewed by a non-Brit!
Thanks so much and appreciate you watching! I know exactly how you feel as I feel the same way when I see non-Canadians reviewing Canadian airlines. Non-locals always seem to bit of a different perspective.
Everyone is different but I normally have my shoes off since I will usually change into the slippers provided for the duration of the flight. When in lie flat mode there is usually a small space on the floor in between the seat and divider so I just put my shoes there.
Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the review. As for the price, I always state the cash price for the exact flight that I booked, but as I’m sure you know prices for airline tickets can vary widely depending on thousands of factors, time of year, how full the flight currently is etc… so depending on any number of those factors the price can fluctuate a lot. One day the price may be less than $10k and there are even days where the price could be more than $10k, which is very scary 😅 if you searched for the price of the exact same flight multiple times over the course of several months you’ll see how often prices can change and that’s why people set up alerts with google flights in hopes they catch it at a time when there is hopefully a price drop as well
@@allons.y I take your point entirely. I'm to NYC next March and the price varied between £1600 and £10000! Bastard dynamic pricing is great when you time it right and excruciating if ya don't
Let me guess, you’re looking at one way pricing which is more expensive than a return as this is a fully flexible ticket which leisure travellers do not typically buy and is aimed purely at corporate travellers
Ding ding ding!! You’re absolutely correct Nick. This is the one way pricing, which I actually explicitly stated in the video. I did not book a round trip ticket. Had I booked a round trip ticket on points then I would have stated the round trip ticket price in cash as well (which was around $8,000 for reference). However it would actually be incredibly misleading for me to tell people that I booked a one way ticket on points and then state a round trip cost in cash because then people would think you could book a round trip on points for 80k avios points which is simply not the case. The fair one to one comparison is the one way ticket cash price since I booked a one way ticket. I always state the price for exactly what I booked. In this case I booked one way. In previous videos where I book a round trip I have stated the round trip cost. But I specifically stated this was one way as that’s how this was booked. Also I don’t really think it’s necessary to state that one way tickets are more expensive as it’s common knowledge that round trip tickets are generally less than one way tickets. For me to mention it in very video would be redundant and stating the obvious. Hope this helps and thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate the discussion. Ciao for now
@@allons.y I did NOT know this fully. I am so used to booking round trips that I hadn't really thought it through. I have never even previously used my AVIOS points
I see you had tea. What is your opinion on drinking tea/coffee on flights? I hear two strong opinions. One is, never do it because they never clean the water reserve tanks. The other opinion is it is strictly regulated and safe and that the pilots always drink the coffee and they are fine. LOL.
I generally don’t drink coffee or tea on flights, but mostly because I find it usually doesn’t taste very good. In terms of safety/cleanliness I’ve actually watched a few TH-cam videos about how the water tanks get cleaned, so I don’t think it’s an issue. I liken it to the same risk you might take eating at your average restaurant. There are protocols in place, but there’s always that risk I suppose about how things are cleaned or handled. Same could be said about food you eat that you didn’t personally make yourself . Plus like you said pilots drink it so if it’s good enough for people that fly planes then it’s good enough for me too😂
I agree. Aesthetically I thought BA Club was nicer and I enjoyed the food more as well. The one thing that BA Club and Air Canada Signature Class have in common though are that they’re both pretty outrageously overpriced for what they are. But between the two I’d pick BA Club as well
Haha you are right! I definitely should have used a tissue to open the lock. If I’m being honest I got really flustered after seeing all those tissues stuffed into the wall and I kind of just rushed out 😩
Yes I was in London, England, UK. And while I was there I decided to vlog. Hope this helps Carlos! 🙂Thanks for commenting and have the absolute best day ever from wherever you happen to be
Prices are dynamic and can fluctuate greatly depending on when you fly, currently loads, and many other factors. They are not a constant set rate. Hope this helps

as a former 90 year old lady myself I support 6pm bedtime.. also that looked like a crazy amenity kit
If you were a former 90 year old lady what are you currently?😆 the amenity was really nice

Us Brits say it midnight somewhere! Seriously it must be the crew wanted a quiet life.
Well that’s true! It really is midnight or 5pm somewhere! I guess I can’t blame the crew for wanting a nice little break too🤪

question: what do you do with your shoes when in lie-flat mode? Do you keep them on? Take them off? If you take them off where do they go?

Loved travelling british airways 9hrs london to Mumbai ❤❤🎉🎉
Definitely a very nice and comfortable way to spend 9 hours in the air!
$10000? I found a return flight for $5000 quite easily! (Assuming Canadian dollars)
Lovely review. Thank you

Beautiful Air Craft.Great Video And Info
Thanks for watching! It was definitely a gorgeous aircraft and cabin ✈️
I’m confused about what made this flight so confusing. I was waiting for that moment…..and nothing ever happened.

What was confusing?

BA club is way better as product than the Air Canada equivalent.

Why was it a confusing flight?
I'm also a germaphone. But why oh why you used your bare hands to open the toilet lock and handle! I always use a tissue
Haha you are right! I definitely should have used a tissue to open the lock. If I’m being honest I got really flustered after seeing all those tissues stuffed into the wall and I kind of just rushed out 😩
