Been away for while and boom the backwards blade ! surgical precision that I can only dream of, these guys do an external corner in the time I spend trying to keep the mud on my trowel 😂
You guys are unbelievable I really admire your works. The style you use and the job Is always clean not dirt at all. Can you tell me something about your plaster. When you mix it at first Its a bit more liquid but I saw when you work with it, it looks thicker I was wondering if you mix something with the plaster ?
What size and brand trowels do they use? I'm needing to buy some more. I only have a marshalltown permashape 13 x 5 flat and 12 x4.5 curved. 14" magnesium hawk. Mud pan and knives up to 12". What do I need to complete my collection.
You cant load an external up and spread it half as much with spatulas, infact they're just not as functional for trowling joins and and externals with.
Sir God correct you can never apply as long in one stroke with knives than trowels and your mud has to be watered down more with knives. We use knives but just for different things
That’s one of the best Sheetrock jobs I’ve seen in a long time. Make the finishing part so much easier. Doing this for over 30 years and I think I tried a trowel once in my early years and stayed with traditional knives. I never got the benefit from them but if it’s easier for the finisher and it comes out great then more power to ya. 👍🏻
if you are talking about the gap around the edge of the ceiling and the top of the wall that gets covered by 90mm cornice so there is no need to fix it tight
We like it. We use the USG sheetrock easy sand quickset to tape and we like to use the same brand of material across the job. The boards in this job were also manufactured by USG Boral.
@@craigealbarenga100 i see know they dont use much that in california for drywall ,here in sandiego , rear when i see companies useit , where you from ? , clean work 👍👍👍
Id be the guy on the stilts, no bending down like the one doing the lower stuff. Ive been seeing these houses w. no ceiling angles, so much less work to do.
We do use knives just for different things. Knives put more pressure on our wrists while the trowel you can get your whole arm behind it. Also don't have to water down the mud as much when you use trowels too because you can get your arm behind the trowel. They get the same outcome regardless so really doesn't matter what each person uses as long the finished job is good!

You guys ever use level5 Flat Boxes or 18" Skimming knives? Or The level5 Fiberglass Wall Board.

How are those magnesium hawks? Is it really that easy to clean old mud?
@@Maxkil I just wet it let it set for a minute and scrape it off.
I don't understand this: I'm seeing mud pressed into outside corner bead (for strength?) But even on the same bead, just smoothed on all at once.
Straight or curved trowels?
Trowels are for masonry , with a taping knives you pull once from the bottom and once from the top on beads
No.Trowels are for fibrous plasterers

The Kanuckians wonder why we use knives instead of trowels. I guess it's really about the training.
nice work and nice team.
Definetly went South on the butts, those are all going to be crowned. I don't like using metal on the corners either. They are bad to edge crack.

How much does a professional in this area earn per hour?
👍 Is a total lite ?
It's seem really good to apply. Is it more expensive than a celling compound ?
Did u buy in the mud or in a pounder ?
it's sheetrock easy sand 45 it's a bag of powder that gets mixed with water and goes hard in 45 minutes
Kompon apa yg di pakai

Does anyone know what the gap and opening is at the ceiling??
if you are talking about the gap around the edge of the ceiling and the top of the wall that gets covered by 90mm cornice so there is no need to fix it tight
and the square opening in the middle of the ceiling is for an access panel
That would be pointless since it is getting covered by cornice
@Gary Rosie for a tight air envelope. I agree.
