We appreciate you so much for your efforts of spreading awareness of indonesian culture and cuisine, despite what some arrogant and misled people would say. You are basically providing indonesian cuisine a platform to shine and introduce it to a lot of new people, which is somethinh that Farahar person can probably never do in a million years. What's wrong with babi guling? p.s. don't mind that person. babi guling is damn good though like one of my favs like i live abroad and i always crave for it. if you eat pork you should try it and get people who eat pork to try it. it's just not representative because imagine the backlash if it's promoted. even if we are not the majority of the population doesn't mean we should be underrepresented, by representing us means you're promoting how diverse Indonesia is.

Just came across your channel, fantastic content mate! Also, on behalf of all of us thank you for taking the effort to introduce Indonesian Cuisine to the world (at least to the UK at first). Indonesian cuisine is very diverse, with all the variety of ingredients, spices and influence it has a lot of flavours suitable for everyone. Babi Guling is a part of the diverse cuisine that Indonesia has just like Nasi Padang. Farahar on the other hand is a part of small minority of complex human being who just came back from the 14th century and trying to adapt to current social norm. You have to excuse him/her, ignorance is bliss. Keep on doing what you doing! Again, thank you for the effort!

Nope, babi guling only be special in Bali and it's not represent food of Indonesia. Represent food of Indonesia ofc rendang. But if they said babi guling is one of traditional food yes it is, but not as represent food tho. Ur the one who doesn't learn, Indonesia has the biggest population muslims in the world, how babi guling (grilled pork) represent Indonesia? It doesn't make sense lol. This is not bcs I'am disrespecting my own culture, but if they want to introduce Indonesian food, they should research more properly abt the most food that represent whole Indonesia not only in particular region. @@eupphemia rendang is also a traditional food like babi guling, gado gado, gudeg, etc. The difference is because islam prohibited eating pork, babi guling is consumed by only the non muslim and foreigners thus could never be lifted to national level, as other non halal dishes from non muslim region in indonesia. If you truly wanted to serve foods that represents Indonesia (whole nation), then it's nasi goreng, bakso, mi goreng, sate ayam, nasi campur, nasi kuning and the likes. And the first three sourced from chinese dishes.

I’ve watch a lot of foreign TH-camrs trying to spread Indonesian food to the world, but there is one dish that I still haven’t seen you guys tried: Saksang, a traditional food of Batak people of North Sumatera. It is a minced pork (yes, pork, because North Sumatera is a predominantly Christian area of Indonesia) stewed in pork blood (yes you heard that right again, pork blood), with some spices, one of them spices is unique to North Sumatera: andaliman. Accompanied with local booze, tuak, and you have a perfect meal. You should try it.

Good video my brother, I'm indonesian myself and I really appreciated of what have you done. And I apologize for those rude comments, those kind of people are rather lack in education that while it has the biggest muslim population, Indonesia was never an islamic country. Babi guling is well known in Bali and you might say it also represent Bali and in turn represent one of culture in Indonesia.
