Our almost-two-year-old watches your channel in a full trance. Never matters what he’s doing he will stop dead in his tracks and stand in front of the tv fully hypnotized and watch your entire video. For me at the other end of life, bedridden and not doing well, it's the same..I watch till the tractors get worked on. Then I change to watching Jim and his workhorses because I grew up with work horses and know zip about tractors..( p.s. dads second farm was near Berkshire not that far from Just a Few Acres..
Nathan: A couple times today I've seen my comments to a thread posted entirely on another channel where it has nothing to do with the topic at hand. Stuff like this will happen to people when they disagree with somebody who believes that "identifies with" is good enough to determine the gender of those with dysphoria. Imagine a world where everyone had your ideals and work ethics. There would be small farms producing meat, vegetables, produce, fruits and nuts... then small wood lots people producing lumber, furniture and crafts... and they all sold their wares at a market. No more shopping malls... no more big box stores... no more politics. What a wonderful world it could be!
Pete, I enjoy your jokes. My uncle would tell these type of jokes, we always said they were so bad they were funny. So to us you’re a Uncle Ernie jokester. Lee and Carolyn Bretzlaff, Villa Grove, Illinois.
You're damn right about manure. Spreading manure should be done between nice dry days in spring thru the end of september. It's when it's chemical value (as well as it's micro bacterial value) are at their best. Especially with solid manure like what you got on the farm. The true value of manure doesn't stop to a lab analysis. Is waaaaay better than any fertilizers you can spread on the soil. It's ALIVE !
Dad jokes are not my favorite thing, but when I hear you tell a dad joke I know you’re having a good day, and that you’re happy. Always brings a smile to my face. Love you’re videos, thanks for sharing your happiness today Pete. 😊
Pete and Hillary. I cant express more how much i enjoy your videos. Its like a family phone call... "just checking in". All your content is just what the soul needs to ground yourself. Even when you are spreading manure..."literally". Lol. Please know you are producing quality content... when i see a random barn cat in the foreground and say..."hi Esra." Thanks again for all you share, whether its animal care, tractor repairs, or farmers market. Thats what i like best...your unpredictable routine life. 😉
I love your relationship with your pig you bring them in the pictures and talk to them just like they have children. That is the kindness of a farmer and his relationship with his livestock.
Your calmness around the critters is impressive, especially if you are not editing or leaving out the frustrating times that can lead a man to using all those other words... 😂
Pete, I'm a gearhead for muscle car stuff mostly. But I fall to the side of your viewers that like the "farming" vids. I could watch you spew manure and wisdom all day. Much love from the south.
Now we are getting ready, cows and pigs excited! All that hay turned into compost and a positive process for this year. The market is opening and all your followers are ready for the excitement of the new pig dwelling. Thanks Pete!😊
Pete, why did you have to kick those wood chips over. Brownie was having so much fun just nibbling and sniffing. Lol Love you channel buddy!! Keep up the great work!
It's amazing the difference between North grasses and South grasses. Here in East texas the cows are off hay but won't have anything up to the digestibility/ protein of your grasses. I'm always jealous of your grass! But not the winter.
Thanks Pete it all happing there mate ready for a nother year off farming , love the show you never know what your going to do , yep little pigs earlier than 10 days Pete , lots off natural poo , cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
For many years I have enjoyed the sound of the birds. Whether gramas in town, our home place or wherever. Billy sure enjoys being talked to and loved on. As well as the others. They enjoy being acknowledged and appreciated. Feels comforting. Thanks Pete and Hillary! Have a great day!
I love your videos… I’m a young 32 yr old that grew up on a dairy farm, now I’m a construction superintendent. I’ve always dreamed of farming and because of your videos I’m doing just that… your videos are inspiring to some and definitely me. Keep on doing what you do. I plan on going to your market, I’m from herkimer county so sometime when I can find the time for a nice drive I’ll do just that.
So great to see you smiling and obviously happy with the spring chores. YOu provide a lot of entertainment and knowledge to me and those other retired seniors. We love seeing your farm come "to life" in the spring and watch all the animals grow. Thanks for the work that you and Hillary do making these videos.
Hey Pete. It is that time of year. We are getting ready to bring in our first chicks, layers and pigs this month. I have been watching your videos for the last two years or so, I have learned a ton. Thank you.
Hi there friends ! It's always a great visit with you and your girl...really loved watching all your day involved ... great seeing all the piggies...looking forward to Brownies babies ....🐽🤗🤭 Hil is such a great partner at hand with you Pete ! It's wonderful watching the 2 of you working together to keep things running on the farm. God bless y'all...see you soon !
All is I can say , is I was hooked on your channel ever since you rebuilt the family homestead, never miss a video, always reminds me back in the day on the farm in OHIO.
I love this. Recently watched the Netflix doc called "Kiss the Ground". I speaks to the initiative on the importance of soil - the man-made causation of how we are negatively impacting the soil and how we can natural repair through regenerative agriculture!! It's nice seeing farmers like you taking such care of the land!
I always enjoy watching you two working the farm. I had a small farm at one time. Raised my own beef, polled herefords, hogs, turkeys, only once, about 10, and a small flock of hens. I really enjoyed taking care of them and also had a rather large veggy garden. But you two make it look so enjoyable and make a great team. Keep up the good work, and videos. God Bless you both.
Watching you and Hillary cleaning enclosures reminds me of cleaning calf pens with my sister (6 (me) and 9) every Saturday from late fall to spring - we had to get it done by 5:00 pm so we could watch Bugs Bunny before dinner/supper. Dad had to empty the wheelbarrow. We had chickens for eggs and around 30 milking cow for butterfat/cream and pigs that just ate skim milk and barley/oats chop all winter. I also remember my dad had a waiting list for people/ friends that wanted the pork from the slaughter which we did on the farm. My parents had to give up farming due to health issues when I was 10 ish. Thanks for bring up some fond memories. I have made friends with former market gardener and volunteer there year round (5 acres). I will keep going into my seventies.
Did you decide to put your new pig edition on the side of the heifer barn? It's funny we all have a different spot on where you're going to add it. Everyone has heard a different location. Lol 😂. Love your channel just block out any of those negative people. They're everywhere. You & Hilary keep up the interesting videos. Love them, can't wait until the next ones!! The Andersons Richwood, Ohio
Boy, I wish I could smell that manure. This video took me way back to my growing up years in a farm village in Southern Ontario. Driving by the farmer's fields after they had spread manure and my older brother insisting the smell would grow hair on your chest. I thought he was disgusting then but I wish I could smell it now that I'm in my sunset years. Your videos always take me for a stroll down memory lane. Thank you Hillary and Pete. Bless!
I know you said you didn’t like doing “day in the life” / you preferred teaching. I just want to say that seeing the day in the life is such a calming balm to my soul in this crazy messed up world. I’d sorely miss if you stopped. Your farming journey is a joy to watch. ❤
I really enjoy watching your channel Pete. The interaction with the animals is especially fun to watch. That Patty cow sure let's you know when she wants her way! LoL can i asked why some pigs have a fan like ear? Is that just on certain breads? Hillary is quiet but a strong women with a great smile. She definitely keeps up with you Pete, getting those chores done along side you. Keep those great videos coming. Wisconsin is watching. God Bless. 🙂
What a positive, relaxing video - I love watching your channel ❤ I’m looking forward to the changes coming to the the barns and seeing how it changes your work flow.
