An incredible performance with fantastic voicing and superb technique from Reitze Smits. As always, the Netherlands Bach Society provides a superb Bach performance.
It seems odd to describe a performance on an historic organ as having "perfectly controlled dynamics." The dynamics cannot be controlled on an organ as on a piano.
Yesss! In his way, Smits makes the impossibly difficult seem effortless. And registration - many organists play the Bätz; Herr Smits seems to know it like a father. AoB, wonderful piece to post on the week of Nativity of At. John, Baptist.
An edifying piece of music and a consummate performer well met. Bach takes you to a higher level with just sound waves and fills you with awe! Bravo Mr. Smits.

I would like to know what you think about this adaptation (with Lyrics-Ps 51) of this organ prelude by J. S. Bach: th-cam.com/video/yxj5ww69UqA/w-d-xo.html
I speak as a Bach lover but an inexperienced listener to his organ music. Am I alone in finding this music difficult? The bass notes to me are indistinct and I’m therefore struggling to hear the music in its full glory.
Agree completely, that stop in the left hand, despite it being coupled to a ?4' speaks too slowly, it all sounds a mess to me. Too many reeds. Needed more contrast.
I would add a Principal 8' to the left-hand part to give clarity and correct the "muddyness" of the 16' Reed alone. And I'm not sure I care for the single Hautbois/Oboe stop in the right-hand. I prefer Flutes 8' and 4' - providing a non-distracting tonal distinction/differentiation against the left-hand Reed's "waves" figuration.
I don't think I've ever heard a registration like this used for this piece before, and it makes it sound rather fresh and interesting.

Magnifique ! Et cette tierce Picarde à la fin 😍
So beautiful !!!!
Bach's music is the voice of GOD in the Earth.
Yes, absolutely
Incredible composition. One of my favourites of J.S Bach's organ compositions
Super super super. So typische Bach Musik. Hervorragend gespielt

Ho capito tutto, guarda

one of my favourites. It was already posted one or two years ago on this channel. The organist is great.

Another stunning performance by Mr. Smits.
Immenso Bach!! Ottima interpretazione!
Very beautiful🍃thank you
This is a new work for me; it is wonderful❣

Impecable, magistral presentación.
Everything I needed, Bach in my day!
So beautifully executed and registered. Thank you so much...I will try and play it again!
BRAVO !!! Thank You for inspiring music.
Thanks to Johann Sebastian and to you for such a wonderful rendering of this milestone of the human art history. ❤
Your rendition is the best, Reitze! Thank you!
Wunderbar
That long note in the end! Thats so nice
Splendid! Thanks.
Beautiful
Brisk! Now I get the flowing water.
Überzeugend interpretiert und sensibel gespielt. Glückwunsch, verehrter Kollege von der Berliner Bach Akademie.
Genial and so balanced!!!
Thank you!!!
The left hand registration sounds bizarre and I love it.
Lovely to hear you play. I remember you from Den Haag !983? I studied with Bob v A then... All best, Douglas

what a incredible thumbnail!
If a terrible alien race were to ask of mankind one reason they should spare us total destruction, I would offer the works of J.S. Bach.
Superbe !

Einfach nur perfekt!
Never thought I'd see Marc Maron kill it on the organ
Great channel!
Great
cool
Mmmmmmmmmmmm... ☺️🎵🎵🎵
❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏
This choral prelude is incredibly hard to play and pull off in performance.
yes but once you learn it is beautiful it took a long time for me to play this
@@marekcisowski8713 yeah, I think it’s the hardest piece I ever played in public. It’s really excellent, though, quite worth it
@@alecrobinson7124 In public I didnt play it ( i,m not concert. organist)- but tempo I played like You, Mr
Is that a 16’ dulzian Hes using on the 2nd manual
😍
Some organists interchange the left hand and pedal parts for a real challenge. Gets them an "A" if they are playing for a grade!
