I will plan for Vlogmas next year! I'd Say You ARE Pattern Hacking Vlogmas! Thank you so much for the Shout Out. 🎉🎉🎉 Those are great channels! Your little girl sounds like my granddaughter. I like the analogy you gave with the faith without works scripture! It's so true. Girl you can't torture your daughter like that saying Christmas is canceled! ❤😂😂❤ I love your message for your daughter. I pre-read and follow along with the pattern instructions and if there is a sew along, I definitely take advantage of that! See you tomorrow!❤
Thanks Zelda. It’s tons of work but I’m having fun and the interaction from you guys definitely makes it worth while!!! I knew she’d be watching and since these young kids are all about apps and screens I’m hoping it’ll resonate with her! Good on you for being so diligent with the instructions!!!!🙌🏾🙌🏾
I love Zelda too. She forever watches me too. I popped out ripper seams too. A lot of the shoutouts are for UK and USA peeps… So nice you did that. Primary school year 4 - all kids rest in their laurels. And do not understand future thoughts 🤣🤣 Yaye. Christmas is back on 🙌🏻 🙌🏻 I often don’t follow instructions… but either doesn’t make a difference When I do a sew along - I always go by my instructions because I want my viewers to know what the instructions are saying. And often if I know another way - I’ll also let them know that. 🥰🦩🥰🦩
Yea re the suggestions. I’d love to discover people in other places. I guess most of my recommendations pop up based on folks I already follow which happen to be USA and uk as I know most from my IG which is the same !
My preference is watching you tube videos for instructions. Also I take sewing classes so my teacher helps a lot by explaining the instructions and what is missing from the instructions. Thanks again great video.
I have been sewing for more than 55 years. I still refer to the pattern instructions simply because it is easier and they have paid someone to create them. I save my brain power for other crafts.
I'm really excited to check out some new to me youtubers! Thank you for all the recommendations. Just like machine maintenence, Im a sewing goody-two-shoes and always read the instructions. I actually love pattern instructions and seeing how someone else would put together the pattern. I like to sit and read them like a book before I start. I don't always follow them though. 😂
You are definitely a good egg. I love reading but not instructions looooolll.. Give me a romcom I'll curl up in bed with that. Some of my instructions have never been unfolded and removed from their packaging loooollllll
Hi Kris! That was kind of you to recommend channels 😃. I’m always looking for new ones to watch. I have a gifted son like your daughter who easily absorbs knowledge but doesn’t like to put much work in. He’s only 6, so hopefully he’ll get past it. My oldest was like that too and he grew out of it. As far as patterns, I like to follow the instructions. I always end up unpicking if I don’t. I will also watch a sew-a-long before I make a garment too, but still keep the instructions on hand. TFS! ❤
They must be a new type of children 😬🤣. I’ll keep watching to see if she outgrows it. It was actually a recommendation from a subscriber. You know I didn’t realise your account was under 5🫣.!!! How could that be you make such great videos?!!!!!!! Good on you for following instructions. That is definitely the sensible thing to do. I ignore them and sometimes end up in trouble 🤣
@ I have to follow the instructions because if I have to unpick, I may not finish the assignment! 🤣 I’m not always consistent and I don’t post enough to grow drastically, but it’s ok 😃.
Loved this vlog and hearing Christmas wasn’t cancelled😊. Your daughter sounds adorably smart - mine is similar in nature; smart, but loves “chilling.” I read the instructions and then search for a TH-cam video. The one you created about the Archer shirt is very helpful.
Is it a 'thing' now with our children. whats this 'chill' attitude to everything. Sometimes I feel like I could use a little bit more of their chill lol. Thanks for that... that series was loooottttssss of work to capture all the bits so im really happy to hear you found it helpful!
You’re so sweet! Thank you so much for recommending my channel! I absolutely appreciate you! I’m a pattern instruction person. I don’t care too much to watch a TH-cam tutorial, but I read the pattern instructions until I get to the finishes.
That is the way to go!! Well done for being so diligent with the instructions. Bet that saves you some headache. Now if only I would learn 🤣 I'm a total picture person so I like to watch tutorials sometimes but I totally get it!
You were so funny today 😂 your daughter sounds just like my oldest when she was her age. She is now 29 and I'm not sure that she's very different😂😂 I absolutely look forward to your daily videos and thoroughly enjoy them. With regard to sewing instructions, I sometimes pre-read them, I sometimes read them while constructing my garment, and if I come across something I don't quite understand in the instructions then I would look for a TH-cam video where somebody has posted a sew-along.
Glad I was able to help brighten your day! Oh boy I had hopes maybe she’d grow out of it but based on what you said my hopes are shattered 🫣🤣thank you for watching and supporting
If you had a 4th choice, "all of the above ", that would be me, depending on the type of pattern it is. Sometimes I'll read the pattern, watch a video tutorial, or work without anything 😂
Wing it Usually have to double check that damn seam allowance that is hardly ever standardized... My BIGGEST pet peeve. It's it to difficult for pattern makers especially pdf speed supposed independents.... STANDARDIZE THE SEAM ALLOWANCES. GAHHHH
This is definitely a valid point. I definitely do peak for seam allowances too if I'm using a new to me company. That being said even familiar companies sometimes change seam allowances at certain steps. I agree with you about standardizing it!!!! GREAT POINT
Oh goodie!!! Yes I watch Sophia and T as well, they both have great content. I did recommend Weceestyle in this video so we are definitely on the same page with that!!
I am enjoying your videos. Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah My favorite sewing TH-camrs Comfycozyup her channel is a craft, sewing, book read. I love it all. Evelyn wood Evelyn just recovering from cancer. The only reason I mention her cancer recovery is because their is a gap in her videos. She has a sewing academy. Steph Sew I love her point of view Blueprintdiy recycle clothes. She makes the old look different. Anita by design I love her step by step videos.
I don't think she is. I raised that since grade k, and have reported it every report card day until this school year. I've just given up....I don't think im being heard and we only have one private primary school here which is what she attends.

lol. Depends on the circumstances right??!!!
I read pattern instructions prior to sewing and while I’m sewing reduces errors.
You’re definitely a good egg! I wish I were more like you 🫣

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣this made me laugh sooooo hard!
I was the first viewer😂😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hooorrayyyyy!!!!!
As a former elementary school teacher, my question is your daughter being challenged ?
I don't think she is. I raised that since grade k, and have reported it every report card day until this school year. I've just given up....I don't think im being heard and we only have one private primary school here which is what she attends.
