  • Verse 1
The changing of sunlight to moonlight
    Reflections of my life
Oh how they fill my eyes
    Verse 2 (Repeat)
The greetings of people in trouble
    Reflections of my life
Oh how they fill my eyes
    Chorus
    Oh my sorrows
    Sad tomorrows
Take me back to my own home
    Chorus (Repeat)
Oh my crying (Oh my crying)
    Feel I'm dying, dying
    Take me back
    To my own home
    Verse 3 (Repeat Verse 1)
    I'm changing, arranging,
    I'm changing,
    I'm changing everything
    Everything around me
    Verse 4 (Repeat Verse 1)
    The world is
    A bad place
    A bad place
    A terrible place to live
    Oh but I don't wanna die ...
    Chorus (2 x)

I am younger--I know many of these songs because my siblings were both music nuts. By early '92 I lost half the family. Dad died in '99. Thankfully my brother is still here. It's so odd, I remember having Marines come into my 2nd or 3rd grade class to talk about Vietnam. I remember the war, the assassinations, the gas wars, the bombings...but as a little kid remembers them. I somehow always knew I wasn't responsible for the bad and with songs I can close my eyes and remember Mom & big sister as they were then. It's painful, but better than forgetting.
Thanks Mr. Peaslee for putting those thoughts & feelings down in a more artful way than I ever could.

Why would you have paid attention to the song in our youth? Youth is about living in the here and now and trying to enjoy all the new experiences. It is only as we are older and reflect do we realise all the things we have lost. We can feel sad because we are older, but that is the whole point of life - to experience, reflect and give the new generations the chance to form their own memories.

People got sick of the old way and moved on to more free music forms, that allow for a wider array of topics and are easier to get into. People got bored of the sentimental songs of yesteryear and wanted something new that better suited the progressive youth culture. In comes the music about sex and violence. People got desensitized.

Released 7 days after my 20th. birthday. Now, every time I hear it, I think of all that has changed since then. Rest assured, as you reach a certain age, you will see exactly how relevant this song truly is. Absolutely no music can hold a candle to the music of the late 60's and early 70's. Such great songs by so many great artist...many of which are no longer with us. I would say that their music will never die, but much of it has been forgotten except by those that were around when it first came out.

This song transports you back to a simpler time when the world wasn't as twisted as it is now. You literally feel like you are back in the day, back in that era(god! please let me go) for just that snippet of time you are young again and even though this song is sad,it brings back happy memories of an era never to be repeated and i'm so glad i got to live it even though i'm old and broken down nowadays. Mid to late 60sto early 70s,if you lived it,no explanation needed. If not, damn i really feel sorry for what u missed,it was magical baby!!

I went thru 6 months of chemo which was the toughest part for me watching people around me fighting to stay alive , & not make it , as well as those who just quit wanting to live , & let go of there life ! This is a road that none of us want to be on , & no matter how much encouragement you get it is a road that you must travel alone , I have 8 more months to go to be considered cancer free ! In the beginning my oncologist told me I only had a 50/50 chance of surviving ! I'm still scared ! It is a road of uncertainty but I know this road is one way ! & there is no turn around , I just hope , & pray that I make to the T in road then I'll know were to go from there . But it is life that I choose I just wish there was more certainty , But such is life ! I'll pray for You Ray ! & Godspeed to your recovery🛐.

@@suzieparis6821 soo true, so sad. Like I said before, other generations mostly have not heard the songs we grew up with. That is so sad. I sm sure they love there own music of their generation. I wonder if they really listened to music of the 60s, 70s. Every generation is a building block to the next. This song went full circle. This was released in 1967, and 1968, depending on were you lived. Dean Ford's last re-recorded of this song in 2016. Which was also video taped. The wisdom, and age in his in face, say alot. His voice was classic. I don't know how he did it. Especially when it came to the words: All my sorrows, sad tomorrows, take me back to old home, also: The world is bad a sad, a terrible place to live, but I don't want to die. For Ford, now close, to ending his walk, of life on his trail of life. The song is really a question. The question being, if I could, would I want to live the life I have been living, or chuck it all up, and start again. lf I could. For Dean to sing that must have been heart wrenching. For, he in his heart, must have been thinking that, as he was singing it. I wonder.... Do see what I mean? Also I think he was answering the question back in the 60s. Maybe not in public, but his own heart. This song is one of the best of the 60s. Hands down. It is so beautiful and deep. Very deep. You just can't forget it. So peace to you all. Wash yoir hands, and live another day. People don't let this song be stored away in your closet or garage, That means physically and mentally. Listen to it once in a while. Dave in Sierra Vista, AZ.

Boa noite! Eu era uma menina entrando na adolescência e namorava um rapaz do exército, cujo nome era Joacyr. Ouvi pela primeira vez quando cantou para mim. Nunca mais esqueci essa música maravilhosa. Tão pouco, o Joacyr. Terminamos. Ele foi muito importante para mim. Assim como a música. Grande abraço.

Takes me back to my teen years and My Dad bringing his friends back from the local pub on a Saturday night, for more beer and music. Dancing to this in the lounge singing at the top of our voices" All my sorrows, sad tomorrow's " waving our arms above our heads, like we were at a concert.lol Happy Days x

The late 60’s produced some classic songs and high amount the very best had to be this one. “Refelections …” was one of my very favorite songs from 1960 and here in 2019 it still is. 2019 MK
