      Jit in Florida was one of the few good examples, the youth jails are called jit camps. Michigan was so under-represented but it's a state that's dramatically different depending where you live. In Michigan people tend to add an s at the end of companies named after someone. 'Fords', 'Meijers' etc.

    New york slang changes constantly. "Deadass" is one that has been around for a long time and probably isn't going anywhere. My mother who's in her late 50s says deadass.

      We do that in Illinois too! We also say "up!" "oops!" "whoop!" "pardon!" We say a lot of different things for "sorry" when we have to say sorry.
      Ex: You're trying to get past someone at the movies and the movie is currently running. "Oop, sorry, excuse me, sorry, I'm so sorry, um, sorry, I-, sorry, pardon me, uh, excuse me, sorry!"

    For Utah “sluff” would’ve been a good one to say. We say it as “I sluffed school today”, basically meaning skipped, and apparently it’s a very odd term to those outside of Utah.

    Authentic Oregon coast slang term “burn off”. So we’d say “oh the fog’ll burn off and then we’ll go outside n play” meaning that in the mornings when it’s chilly, there’s a thick layer of marine fog but then it will go away when the sun warms up. Some places in Oregon have a slight California valley girl twinge, other places slightly have a mid-west influence in a similar way that Washington does. My family in Washington definitely says “warsh” and we all grew up saying “pop” lol

    I don't know if any other state says this but in Maryland we say DMV which stands for D.C., Maryland, and Virgina and you usually will it the name pop up about 7 times a day on the car radio or news.

    In Arizona (mostly in Phoenix) we call the people who only visit the state during the winter “snow birds.” We get tons of birds that migrate here to avoid the snow, and people who do the exact same thing.

      I lived in flagstaff Arizona for a bit and a lot of the snowboard slang included the word gnar. But it would be like “are we going to go shred the gnar after class? “ Hella is totally a northern Cali thing too. Hecka for my religious friends.

    As someone who’s lived in New Mexico I can say confidently one of the most confusing slang/colloquialisms is calling every carbonate beverage “coke” because they’ll say “you wanna a coke” and hand you a Mountain Dew or other kind of soda

    In Jersey we say “You good?” A lot and “Y’all”. If someone is sad we’ll be like You good? Instead of saying are you okay or do you need something we would substitute it with “You good?” (This May just be where I live too idk)
