Philly for all intents and purposes is East coast, and the rest of Pennsylvania is Midwest.
this is actually so accurate, like going outside of philly it usually feels like I’m visiting a seperate state half the time
obviously, in New York, we mispronounce coffee so that it becomes, "caw-fe"
cwoffee is how i hear it... lol
Lmao I never noticed I said caw-fe 😭
Bro so I’ve been pronouncing it wrong??
And "water" y'all say "wahta"
Exact thing I said.
maryland chick is crazy
ive literally never heard anyone say southern like that omg lmaoo
As someone born, raised and currently living in Hawaii, I'm thoroughly disappointed you chose a white lady with a very bad pidgin accent to represent Hawaii. 😔🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️#fail
That accent made me cringe quite a bit, it was so off 💀
I know!!! It sounds like a horrible kiwi accent. Don't know why they couldn't actually get someone who is born and raised there
Super painful to listen to omfg
Chakura Kinda funny since that girl was born and raised in Hawaii lol.
smileegaomiso but she’s not hawaiian ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is more of an accent thing, but when we moved to Illinois a few years ago, I took my son to the pediatrician for a checkup and I was so confused when she asked me if I had started feeding him salads yet. After having her repeat it a few times, I finally realized that was saying “solids.” I was so embarrassed. 😂
Sounds right haha
Well since they didn't put in Georgia, I have to say that people say "nahn" for nine and "libary" for library. Libary gets me every dang time.
And we drop the ''g'' at the end of the word if it has one
@@Sorryboutthat oh yeah. ALL THE TIME. lol
Omg this is so relatable and we also say atlana not Atlanta that weird!
At-lan-ah
@@Sorryboutthat YEP!
Born and raised Illinois and literally no one says "salmon" like that, wtf
Yes! Born and Raised in IL (southern) and never once heard someone pronounce salmon like that.
do we mispronounce Chicago and say it like chicaga? or what else do we mispronounce
@@annieodear7410 our "o" sounds in a lot of words become more like "ah's". Like when we say on, we say "ahn" and not "awn". Or we say stop like "stahp". Cotton like "cahton", etc. Just some things that have been pointed out to me since I've been going to school in other state!
Illinois girl here and no one says “sallmohn”. Also wtf.
annie odear we also (most at least) mispronounce crayon (we say it like cran) and we tend to make o’s more like an ‘ah’ sound
If you are born and raised in Washington and still say “Wershington” slap yourself..
*The Washington guy's face is longer than the Apollo 11 flight*
Johnny Tsunami faxx
I grew up in Eastern WA and am not exactly young and I never once can recall anyone adding an r in Washington. Is that a western WA thing?
We defs don't say it in southern WA.
@@singingstars5006
Its definitely a western Washington thing. All the adults over 35 in Seattle have said it at least once.
Came here for California: got every other state
Haha sams
Gabby Fernandez because we don’t mispronounce things. Our accent is the standard now! 😂😂😂 jk about us not mispronouncing though
New York Guy: I don't know which word I say that makes people pick up on the accent
Everyone else: ALL OF THEM. YOU EVEN SIGH IN A NEW YORK ACCENT
Floridian:" Carmel?"
Me a Floridian: no we dont......... do we?
Not primarily regional, I think. But are there really people who say care-uh-mel-corn? Even if you say care-uh-mel, it's got to be carml-corn.
I live in Florida. She pronounced it correctly.
Who is that Maryland lady, has she ever been to Maryland?💀👎👎👎👎 who say sother-ren like ... girl😭
Amy Parker bruh that what i thought
I have no idea what she’s talking about 🤨
I was thinking the same thing ! I was thinking so hard like do we say that? Ive never heard anyone say that
yeah, nobody in illinois says “saLmon”
Jillian literally NO ONE
EXACTLY
Actually that was also me growing up saying saLmon. But I say it correctly now or else I’d get mean looks in WA state lol
Exactly
I do 😔
They didn’t put in Georgia. In Georgia they don’t say the ‘t’s in Atlanta
🤦♀️ikr
Yeah we pronounce it "ah-lanna
I can confirm as someone who’s lived there almost all my life
thank goodness someone addressed the problem. I was wondering if they forgot us.
...does anyone?
No one:
Literally no one:
Not a single soul:
Oklahoma: nUcLeAr
That’s literally one of the most annoying mispronounced words for me along with a coach I had who pronounced escape “ex-scape”
I stg she sounded like Elizabeth Warren
I used to live there and I’ve heard it pronounced that way more often than not.
Zach Spencer I say ex-scape and ax instead of ask
@Xander Arizona "It's pronounced Nucular" - Homer Simpson
as a tennessean i’m appalled by winder.... if anything it’s winda. And older people will end the days of the week by pronouncing “day” “dee”
j j that’s how future pronounced Monday on jumpman with Drake. “Came through magic city on a Mundee”
j j people say “dee” instead of “day” in Illinois as well.
People in Tennessee drop the plural on most words. Like “ I went to the store 2 or 3 day ago”
A lot of the "upper class" seem to pronounce days of the week that way too.
Utah also does not like to make the “T”
sound.
So you pronounce it like, "You-ahh" ??
Cookiez Art more like with the word “mountain”. We say mounan.
@@ASLTheatre Ah, okay
"Went skiing up on the moun an at brigh in"
Those few hicks who say crick instead of creek😒
Utah: Our words are pretty straight forward.
Me: You didn't say MoUNaiN! (Without the T)
Yeah i guess there is a word we mess up haha
we love wearing our mi'ens in the mou'ains in the winner
I clicked on this video because I thought I was trippin when I saw Brad on the thumbnail.
im a simple man, i see Brad Leone, I click
Who dat
nafseltaeb he works at bon appetit, he’s amazing
Same! Wourder is a classic, but really - most of the words Brad pronounces aren' exactly correct. Lol. I love when Claire asks him to repeat words, and then she just smiles at him.
the thing im most definitely adding to my daily use is "HAANGRY BRAH"
SwagHags69 eh she on point tho

Utah - melk (milk) pelo (pillow) and you know mount’n fount’n ect sincerely a Utahn
Benjamin Acuna Northeast Wisconsin also says melk! They will also say malk. You’d think the dairy state would know better 😂
Thank you! Finally, another Utahn who agrees with me!
Benjamin Acuna I agree with pelo and mou’t’n. Never heard melk up north in Cache Valley. Heard carn instead of corn and Harm instead of Hyrum, though 😆
A lot of older Utahns tend to have more of an accent but I do still hear a lot of people in general saying moun'n and fount'n all the time.
My Grandparents grew up south of Provo and Salt Lake City, they had what some people call a "Nephi accent" Nephi is the name of a LDS prophet FYI. They replace words with was and isn't proper grammar. It's one of those things that you recognize when you hear it's kind of hard to explain. Also I forgot exactly what it sounds like 😂. Some people here also say crik instead of creek
Utah: we don’t pronounce our T’s unless we are talking about the state
Fouh'n=fountain
Mouh'nn=mountain
Bu'in=button
Utah=Utah
Indiana: yeah let's talk about pronouncing a DIFFERENT STATE girl what
Nolan Lamkin lol it’s not even true
I’ve literally never pronounced Illinois the way she said it and I’ve never heard anyone say it like that either.
ikrrrrr like step up girl
i thought the exact same thing! hahaha
She couldn't have pulled out the elongated "r" like "worsh" instead of wash or "rrrrrl" for rural, that's how Hoosiers speak
The Michigan Girl makes me so proud. I can tell she's a Detroiter. When she was talking about the GPS, lots of Detroiters/Michiganders mispronounce words like "Lahser", "Dequindre", and "Gratiot", which are all street names. We also add "s" at the end of words like "Fords", "Meijers", and "Chryslers". Lastly, we say "milk" really weird (usually in the SW and up north). They say it like "melk". As a Detroiter, it grinds my gears
Good job Hawaii! I was skeptical at first, but da pidgin is cherry 👍🏼
Same here, funny she look like one of my cousins
In Illinois and possibly the Midwest people often say “melk” (like elk) instead of milk
abigail YES
I’m one of them 😅
Yup. That definitely happens in Minnesota. I hear that all the time.
Northeast PA too. My Philly friends call me out on it so I think it's just the Northeast part of the state here. Must be a bigger thing in the Midwest I guess.
I think I probably pronounce it correctly sometimes and incorrectly every other time
as an arkansan child, the first time my dad ever yelled at me was for saying “crown” instead of “crayon” and this video made me feel SEEN
Nonsense. It should be "cran".
Lmao nobody in illinois pronounces the l in salmon, all these people must be on something
What
Oh now I get it
I tbh thought that was an i
Lmao
legit never heard anybody say salmon with the L, as saying "sawl-min" (which is the way it would be pronounced if we did it with the L) is really annoying. "sah-min" is so much easier and faster and less strange to say.
I was hoping someone of Hawaiian descent would rep Hawai’i, but that pidgin was pretty on point lol. Shootz!
They got rid of her....check out the older videos
brah i thought the exact same thing lol
I wanted ukulele. It's actually funny how people pronounce it. Like. What? Uke-ah-laylee? Ookoolaylay thanks very much

California - "I don't think there is a word that we mismpmmounce"
We don’t claim him
We apologize
I do that
I think it’s just him not the rest of us
He started to close his mouth as he said mispronounce but he didn't say the word incorrectly. Listen to it again.
As an Idahoan, I can confirm the pronunciation of Boise is how we pick out the people who are either visiting or haven't been here for more than 10 years, usually. xD
