ACC7386 I’ll give her a pass. Texas places a lot more emphasis on independence in 1836 than it does on statehood in 1845. I remember there being a lot of celebrating the sesquicentennial in 1986 and pretty much nothing in 1995.

Jamestown was established in 1607, the first real permanent colony, and the area around was named Virginia in 1584. The colonies were technically called states so shes not too wrong

I remember state floats, in 4th grade was our state and 5th was another. 4th I had Washington. Olympia as capital, Pacific Rhododendron as state flower, American Goldfinch as state bird, and founded in 1889. in 5th grade I did Minnesota, which is Saint Paul, Showy Lady's Slippers, Common Loon, and May 11th, 1858 to be exact on the date.

The Idaho state flower is officially the Lewis' mock-orange but it's more commonly referred to as the Syringa so the Idaho shouldn't have been eliminated
