G'day, thanks for the ride, tomorrows Christmas hope your not working and if so keep safe and if your on holiday have a wonderful day and don't drink to much, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.
Thanks Neil. Yes, I'm working but should be home with family in the evening. I'll try not to drink too much. 😀😀 You have a great Christmas 🎄 😀 👍
have a merry christmas and happy new year everyone!!
And the same too you also. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 😊 👍
Marry Christmas to you and Putty Cat.
Thank you. Merry Christmas to you and your family also. 👍😀🐈🐈🐈
Oh well, just the railroad end that's amazing!! Anyway Thanks for sharing with us and Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2024!! 😉👌🎅🚂🌲
You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it. Have a great Christmas and New Year 😀 👍
After Ararat, I think Bairnsdale will have to be my next destination.😁 It looks like a lovely place, and traveling there will take me to lots of towns along the way. 👍 I assume this is a broad gauge line?🤔
Bairnsdale is a nice place to go. It is broad gauge. The only standard gauge passenger service Vline operates is the Albury line. 👍😀
Tomorrow we see the driver's view of Bairnsdale to Bruthen. 😊
That would be nice but a little hard to do due to no tracks. 🤔 but you can see what is there now on this closed lines video....👍😀

It's a state secret, but the railhead has been pushed as far as Nicholson, and permanent way restoration works have begun in the section between Nowa Nowa and Orbost, using spare funds from the level crossing replacement and airport rail link projects. There was also a proposal to have a new station, called 'Andrews', replacing Tostaree. Unfortunately, heritage-listed trestle bridges now form an ironic impediment to progress on the line.
@@driver667 Oh yes, of course. 😃 I had seen that one before. And is perhaps preferable to the alternative. The Road coach driver's view to Orbost. 🤣
@@emdB67 agreed 👍 😀😀

@@driver667 thankyou i had great memories going to either Bainsdale and Sale.

Christmas is 2 days away
Yes it is. Merry Christmas 🎅 👍😀
a white cross is a dirt road and a yellow cross is a sealed road 😊
Yellow and white crosses are both whistle boards but a yellow X indicates a white light is fitted to the top of the crossing post. It indicates that the crossing is working properly. 👍😀
what is the T sign every now and then also? And a Merry Christmas to everyone :)
Very roughly, the T sign is basically a speed proving point when approaching a junction or point work the train needs to slow for. 👍😀
Does anyone know the line speed? Having to slow for the "unprotected" level crossings of farm tracks must surely slow the service down by a bit?
The speed is 100kph along there. Yes it does slow the service a bit with those speed restrictions. 👍😀
Well, that is the end of the line, another very good video. Trivia question of the day if I may. What is the difference between a yellow X and a white X sign? Thank you.
Yellow and white are both whistle boards but a yellow X indicates a white light is fitted to the top of the crossing post. It indicates that the crossing is working properly. 👍😀
Thank you once again for the prompt response.@@driver667
👍😀
Is vline doing any Christmas things or have already done anything?
I don't know of anything being done for Christmas. 🤔🤔👍
They *usually* have free travel on Christmas day, but with fares now being only $10, it's less appealing than when fares were much higher.
@@Dave_Sisson I see it advertised now, free on Christmas day. 👍😀
