this song feels like the Doctor is thinking so fast and while his emotion is so blue and mellow. And then the fast thinking gradually becomes the emotion, the thinking is automatic but it is his feeling taking over his mind. idk. i'm not good with music. i can't pinpoint where the exact part of this music in the episode. but i feel that way.
I do love your piano covers, especially since you're one of the only channels that plays lesser-known pieces from Doctor Who. If I were to make a suggestion as to what you play next, it would certainly be interesting to hear a piano version of the standoff between Rassilon and The Doctor from Hell Bent. Also, will you be orchestrating for Series 11?
Thank you for the kind words. I'll take another look at that Hell Bent scene and see if it's something I'd like to do. Will go back to being a fan for Series 11!
Thanks. I don't think Chopin's Funeral March was a direct influence on this (although we are all in some way influenced by every piece of music we hear). The music for the episode was in general channeling a more Baroque/Classical sensibility to tie in with the architecture of the castle in the Confession Dial.
Cues have for the show only have numbers - this would have been something like 11DW32 (i.e. 11th episode, Doctor Who and 32nd piece of music in the episode). The title is my cheeky little joke (apologies to any Led Zep fans who have stumbled upon it by accident) - I'm sure it will have a more fitting title when the soundtrack comes out. Eventually.
Thanks for the quick reply. So all of the titles on the soundtracks are made up for those releases and not original from production? That's actually very interesting information, thank you! (Always great to learn more about the score from my favourite TV series)
Yes. All of the recording is obviously very specific to picture but a numbering system is more efficient than a naming one when you have a large number of pieces to record with an orchestra and time is limited.
I believe the title is either "Breaking The Wall" or "The Heaven Sent Suite" another debated title is "That's One Hell of a Bird" but personally I believe the first of the aforementioned is the original.
One of Murray Gold's best pieces in my opinion. It's a shame we don't have a clear studio version yet.
Good to hear I'm not the only one who rates it. The clean studio recording will be another gem worth waiting for.
Filthy Falawful April 27th guys
Filthy Falawful we do now.
8 years later, only on piano, and this piece is still beautiful and stunning to hear. A pleasure for ear holes everywhere.
Wow, just wow. Absolutely excellent; if only one day the series 9 soundtrack will be released but very nice indeed
Thank you. I'm sure it will after a second of Eternity has passed!
OST released. ,Called Same old Day
*sees you uploaded a new video,* *rushes here as quickly as possible* (love the season 9 soundtrack btw)
That's very kind - thanks!
Beautiful
Thank you for this, it's so beautiful and the interpretation is on point!
I would hope so! ;-)

Could you possibly do gadget to the rescue from series 4?

No problem whatsoever. And that's a shame, considering you've only done one soundtrack- but we still have your videos!
Well there's still Series 10 to come out....... ;-)
Ohhhh, of course! Any hint as to when that could be happening? ;)
And another thing, do you think it's possible that there will be another series of concerts like Symphonic Spectacular in future?
Love your covers and I love Murray Gold. Do you think this was inspired by Chopin’s Funeral March?

I'm assuming you use sheet music, since there is some in the video. If that's the case, where do you get it from?
I made a cut down from the original orchestration. I'm not able to distribute either sadly!
Alastair King Oh, yeah. That would make sense that you wouldn't be able to distribute it.
I will do anything for the sheet.
OtaConnor would you wait 4 billion years inside a confession dial, that has been used to create your personal torture chamber?
Is that Murray's original title for this particular theme/cue? I presume so as you would have access to such information.

You can find it elsewhere on youtube under the title The Doctors Hell.
