    I love that you show you feel for those who have lost their jewelry! I've had my grandmother's rings stolen from my home and there's no monetary value to put on those memories! Cheers! You have a new sub in me! Thank you!

    I used to live a block from the beach in Bradenton. I went detecting for years there. i was careful and methodical about it. Lots of jewelry. I just threw the change into plastic buckets until I retired and moved away. I took the change to the bank and had a little over $14,000 . It paid for the cabin I live in here in Alaska. Yes, I retired and moved north. I hate summers LOL, here I keep refrigerated stuff on the porch in the summer.

And people tell me they get different readings with different coils? I have no idea i never tried any other. Thanks for the comment

    I used almost the same gear in Tampa, While that scoop is really sturdy you can't wand it like the ABS nylon one. I was having great luck at Pinic Island until I found out the park warden was planting stuff for the metal detector guys. It was kind of a thank you because most detector guys will clean up trash such as crushed pop cans or slivers of metal in the sand that can cut feet open. But mainly because when we do find that $600.00 ring we make an effort to get it back to its owner. . BTW thank for posting the video.

    • @customrelic3586
      @customrelic3586  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Buhda Punk yeah the scoop actually sucks. But i made the cardinal mistake of leaving my other gear in the back of the truck overnight in Daytona. It was stolen within an hour or two by one of the crackheads. The closest store had that scoop.
      I always try to find the original owner of wedding rings, diamond etc. i have so many from over the years. I have never sold a piece of jewelry in 20 years. I found the owner of a ring one time 8 years later. That taught me a valuable lesson. U never know when you will locate someone. And i take ever piece of junk i find. Even a metal pipe trap from a sink i found a few weeks ago. The thing drive me nuts all day carrying it

    Just found your channel tonight and subscribed. I too live along the Treasure Coast and am just getting started in detecting. I recently bought a Garrett ACE 300 which I'm still learning how to operate. I am also thinking of upgrading, either to a Garrett AT Pro ( or AT PRO Sport) or a Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro. I do not plan on any diving, but may immerse the unit right by the shore. My wife is also interested in learning metal detecting and I would turn the ACE 300 over to her.

    so what setting do you recommend, regular or black sand for a metal detector?

    • @customrelic3586
      @customrelic3586  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Regular all the way. Then u can tweak it once u learn what bottle tops show up as etc. the best thing to do is bring everything u find home and test it to different metals. U will see the difference from silver, gold to aluminum etc. i dig for everything. U know how many times I thought it was a bottle top based on the reading and it wasn’t? It still good to learn all the ranges for all the metals

    You are a wonderful person with a conscience. Those are fabulous finds - congratulations! Sometimes people toss their wedding rings in the ocean when their marriage ends. Regardless, you finding it is better than it being buried in the sand. Filming with your phone has to be almost impossible, but you did a super job! Thank you for making this video. Happy hunting in 2018!

    • @billiejohoward7443
      @billiejohoward7443 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Katie Deep Beep amen to that.. he did a great job taping it even though it was with his iPhone.. I bet that was a pain in the butt!! Great video and the Indian head pendant is awesome!! And of course so is the diamond 💍 ring!!

    • @customrelic3586
      @customrelic3586  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Katie Deep Beep thank you both (billy joe howard). Yes, filming with an iPhone is so incredibly hard. I have done a ton of other videos that im still editing all with my phone. I have found a lot of cool things but the Indian pendant is still one of my favorites so far. And if you havent seen in another video, i never sell anything i find. Especially the rings. I try to find the owners. When they are not engraved it makes it very hard. But what i have been doing lately is adding them to a few major “treasure chests” that i plan on leaving for others to find. That diamond ring is going into one of them. I spent a good 8 months looking for its owner. Anyway at 1000 subscribers i will stash the first treasure on a beach and give some clues to get you close. But basically just get up and go metal detecting. Anyone has a chance. Thank you both

    • @AlexBabcock-hw9iz

      More often wedding rings are taken off to apply sunblock to the kids. The rings get off beach towels and in the sand. Not many people vacation and divorce and toss their rings away.

    • @customrelic3586
      @customrelic3586  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Katie Deep Beep i never thought that someone would hate their husband (or wife) that much to throw their ring in the ocean. I read that salt water shrinks your finger a whole size. I guess they just fall off while swimming whatever. Sucks

Imagine losing your wedding ring or something given to u by a late grandparent etc? Thats why i never sell anything i find. Hoping one day someone would watch one of
      My videos or maybe i see an add for a missing piece of jewelry. I literally have pounds of precious metals. Ive been doing this since the 90’s. God has been good to me and i dont need the money so i keep it and wait. Thanks for the comments.

    Did the ring end up being real. Usually large diamonds are set in 18k gold. Not always, sometimes in 14k or even 10k. But it is not common. I'm guessing it was not real? Thanks for sharing.

  • @bobgil3464

    • @customrelic3586
      @customrelic3586  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bob Gil i was told that too. But it works awesome in the water. You just have to learn to ignore the saltwater readings that are constant. When u go over any metals, it still alerts as it would on dry ground. Its all about learning your gear and experimenting. Everyone has their preference. And you will always find 100 people who say one thing and 100 who say totally opposite.

    If the ring is not that old it might have a number etched on the diamond that tells who owns it! 🇺🇸

    the Indian head is from HMJ Designs, california and this stuff is all handmade, very nice find!

      Shadow Walker555 i think someone said the same thing. I found several stores in the area who sell that jewelry mainly to bikers. And its very expensive. Someone probably bought it on their vacation and lost it before owning it for a week. I wish i found the chain too

    Very nice find:) Actually one of the nicest finds i’ve ever seen! The diamond ring is probably more valuable to the person then the actual cost unless she divorced the guy lol then its yours lol one can only wonder:;) HH

      Digging Canuck - I agree. I have found guns, swords, gold, silver everything you can imagine and that to me is one of the coolest things. Its pretty heavy. I haven't weighed it yet but its easy 4 plus ounces and the coloring is awesome.

    You have a good heart & upbringing. Unmarked rings are near imposable to return to the REAL
    owners. At least you saved it from the sea & will get good use for it.
    BTW if you dont know NEVER brag about a ring in front of strangers. Many MDers have been
    scammed by a fake owner........

    most people dont know this, but within 10 minutes of being in the water, you can loose a whole ring size. They are mostly lost by slipping of the fingers of the swimmers lol, this is why i Never wear rings or jewelry to the beach

      Stephen Herr no its stainless. And sterling is in the low 70’s. Peaks at 80 ish to 90 and tails to high 90’s
