I didn't want to bog down my build video with this. So I'll talk about the current state of Ranked PvP here. There's a huge epidemic on people disconnecting whenever they lose AND also when your build just so happens to counter theirs. This isn't much of an issue rising up through the letter ranks but becomes gigantic issue for S rank leader boards. All high ranking players on the leader boards disconnect as soon as they loose. I even found unranked S rank players who disconnect as well! That means all the leader board is sham because on disconnecters will rise up while honest players eventually go down in rank by losing to these disconnecters. The current state of Ranked PvP is quite sad. Anyways subscribe for the SS rank build video coming out tomorrow.
I can understand players who are playing non-meta build whos disconnect when they fight a meta-build with a probability of success of almost 0%, but seeing a meta user ragequit is just… wow, what a freaking loser.
Rats shouldn't even be able to exist in the form they do but Fromsoft really wanted to streamline Armored Core without knowing how people would react and here we are
@@adhdasdfroflxd123 it's not a surprise people went for all missile, constant flight builds. Hell, I used one in many of the missions. I wouldn't personally take that into pvp. Imo, it's lazy. But there is always something that can catch up, as Geo and many others experience. I'm happy about this last patch on the note of disconnects.

Pretty stupid that a person ragequitting counts as a draw. I play a lot of Rocket League and if the team or player (in 1v1) leaves it's a win for the remaining team or player. EDIT: Also the lack of a time based ban for rage quitting needs to be put in place to encourage players to play it out. In Rocket League it's a 5 minute ban, then 10 minutes and so on the more you leave matches.
Probably need to be careful that this doesn't affect players who might genuinely DC from a fight too harshly. I think assigning a win to the non-DCed player is reasonable though, especially if they're leading in armor points.
@@Revenante_of_Asylum in fairness if you do have genuine internet connection issues you should probably take 5 minutes to sort it out. Also lose penalty for DC is standard in most PvP games

I don't know what is unreasonable about my position anyway. I'm essentially in favor of giving a *win* to the players opposite the DCing player who at worst is out to cancel a loss, but at best might just be someone who got hit with a random spike in the internet that they might then take the time to address if possible.

Lol i played against the first guy before pvp ranked came out. Hed always boot me out of the room if i had a counter build. Also disc against rats should be normalized haha. Other than that most builds r fair game since at least they dont run away

Id say this is down to from software lack of experience with pvp. Most of the maps are wide open space with very little cover. If they look at other multiplayer games say like (and please forgive me) COD theyre are multiple roots and places to take cover but in ac6 the maps dont have this. They are cut out from levels of the game and not specifically designed for pvp matches. As such it gives advantage to certain builds. Which i believe causes frustration (speaking from experience 😂). People probably dont want to lose their rank just because the map put them at a disadvantage. Fromsoft should also inact penalties for disconnects. Day bans for instance. The thing is the single player game itself is a testament to their level design. Have things in the air that can use as cover or even perch on but have things on the ground that can fit an ac inside like a callapaed tunnel entrance enough for you to hide under but stay too long and youll be pinned stuff like that. The thinking for the maps in my opinion are too limitted. Or maybe it is just people being petty
gotta agree, the map design is heavily tilted towards missile kite thingies or whatever those are called. maps with lots of cover tend to be more fun, like wall sector with those tall buildings. the new maps they added aren’t perfect but is step in the right direction with more varied terrain

I've been falsely accused of rage DQing TWICE because From keeps dropping the servers and it's so frustrating to have to be like "nah dude it was From" thankfully both times they apologized because (besides the rage quitters and derank worrywarts that DQ) the community has been super supportive. Honestly, it sometimes feels like we're emulating the arena experience with our builds and rank as our character. For instance sometimes From connects me with someone two ranks below or above me and I feel like I have to try extra hard to represent I'm better than my rank suggests or show the lower ranker how they need to step up to make it to that rank
I've been cock blocked at ranked A/0 because i keep getting dogged on by missile rats and tanks and yet i refuse to leave or change the AC. White glint will make it one day even if it's months away.
I wish SA servers had queue, I hate playing w lag on global and I'm sure people don't enjoy it as well :( PvP is really unbalanced right now, I hope 1.06 gets some good balance changes and penalty for DCing
Likewise; it's basically impossible to queue into a 3's match in NA East, and I've sat in 20+ minute queues before just giving up, setting to Global, and blocking anyone who has more than 200 ping. Not even being able to queue for more than one region at a time other than global is a huge oversight and something FROM/Bandai-Namco need to address, among many other things.
@@ayanarchy Not directly, no; the SteamP2PInfo tool can (sometimes) give you info on other players' ping compared to yours. You still have to block players on an individual level in Steam, and to be honest, I'm still not totally sure whether this accomplishes anything. It seems to help?
Tbh i think that ranked experience is totally bs. To me 50% of the game is trying being creative in the garage and i already saw tons of people with your exact same setup: same frame, same weapons, same tactics (they're probably copying you or some other youtuber). Before this update i saw a lot more creative builds, and pvp was actually fun, at least to me. Now it's like 3-4 builds just repeating. The disconnect thing is the last issue.
A functional PvP experience for US audiences with US infrastructure has always been an afterthought for FROM, but this is probably the laziest rollout I've ever seen from them. It makes it so hard to take the PvP scene in this game seriously.
The new parts, weapons, and maps just show that fromsoft doesn't understand the problems with AC6, and weirdly decided to pander to the meta crowd instead of returning players. First parts, the new qaud legs are everything wrong with AC6's movement as they superfast, regardless of booster, low energy cost and a surprisingly high load limit. The game already had a problem with missile boats so they make better missile boats? Next weapons, the new machine gun lacks impact and fire rate, the new pulse missiles are oppressive in 3v3s and annoying 1v1s, and that new laggy laster cannon. AC6 already had too many laser cannons, and so they made another one? EXCEPT! This one does nearly the same damage as the wing cannons, has a fire rate similar to the heavy laser rifle, more ammo than the laser wings and 3/4 of the weight, stupidly low energy cost, AND leaves a AOE blast when fully charged! That AOE chases people if the connection is bad enough, doing massive damage! At even medium ping you pretty much can't miss at close to mid range! Then, there is that maps. AC6's maps were already way too big and didn't have any cover, so they made bigger maps with even less cover? Why? And finally there should have been TWO types of online matchmaking, casual and ranked. Because that just the basics of online multi-player! I've tried to return, I really have but when 90% of all matches are just sweat fests with meta builds, I just can't anymore. Especially when all most people do is fly upward with auto tracking missiles or cannons so you can't even try to hit them.
Yea I have been doing my due diligence to report the quitters in hopes that From might do something to combat this( and I mean "something" I realize there's only so much you can do about it). I've had quitters quit at the start of a match and also when they realized they couldn't beat me. In all honesty I've had matches where I ended up against someone a second or third time that was for sure not going to win against me and thought to myself I wish I could mildly apologize to them for what's about to happen... again. And kudos to those who let it happen and didn't quit, I am sorry that From's Matchmaking let that happen to you.
Next month would be all kind of funny once the leaderboard reset 😂 Btw, did you ever disconnect during matches for no reason at all? I think i have few matches i'll loss, than my enemy just DC
i wish there's a reset of rankings. at least it will make things "fresh" in a way to keep the players at least more engaged into this mode. although they really need to change their anti-cheat AND screw the rage quitters more than just going neutral.

People who disconnect can actually be reported. On your match history, go to the match's Member detail, then report the following player. There is an option to select an Item to Report as Style of play > Match Dropouts
I can't confirm this, but it also seems matchmaking works similar to how invasions work in Souls games; blocking players in Steam seems to make it so you won't be matched with them?
Ranking is full of people using really Powerful ass builds while, its always the Zimmermans, Earshots, Miniguns and other absolutely dipsh!t builds where i couldn't have fun to the point i resorted into using the Build i used to complete the game and modify it into Ranking use I felt bad for battling a person 3 TIMES (yes i battled the same person 3 times) and i couldn't help but feel pity while using the build but to DM him that i was sorry
Between the latency issues causing shots to hit when you clearly dodge them, people who disconnect, and more, I just can’t enjoy PVP. It sucks, because PVP is the only place to really test yourself and your AC. PVE really doesn’t offer a challenge in any of the missions
If you don't play Bipedal in pvp then you don't get to complain lol. You're either flying around with more than enough HP, or you're rolling around with even more HP. Either way youre a coward. The real PvP is in the Bipedal fights
I agree the state of pvpbis horrendous, quite literally see the same 4 meta builds. I can understand someone disconnecting from a kite build they stand no chance against and same for a tank build. But if you're using those scummy builds and rage quit when you get outplayed, you really arent worthy of being called skillful. Hope they fix the issues in pvp a lot of weapons need to be looked at atm as it isn't just disconnects thats the issue. This game is super fun when everyone has a fair chance at winning but when you have these absolutely busted no chance at winning builds it sucks the fun out of it by a lot. Thats y im trying to climb to the top with a nonmeta medium weight build.
i dont even touch 1v1 cos i knew it would be turbo sweats and quitters scumming the ranks, They will sweat and cheat their ass off until they get that S rank card then never touch 1v1 again, in 3v3 their more chill cos its eazy to get carried to S, you should get a week Ban from rank if you disconnect 3 times within a short period
This stuff was bound to happen when FromSoft made the maps so big. I don't know what they were thinking. And they nerfed buerzels so midweights have a trouble catching up, forcing them to use lasers. They might have killed pvp ironically enough, due to the map choices.
I love the maps in Ranked, they really aren't "too big", they're a breath of fresh air and all have some amount of cover to use. LOC Station 31 could use a smaller ceiling, but otherwise I'm a big fan of the maps. Really I think Ranked matches need a 3-minute timer instead of 2-minutes to allow for more tactics against enemies. Feels bad when you fight a tank that knows they can run and hide because they have a life lead. Short timers give an inherent advantage to ACs with high AP because it forces a player to put themselves in more dangerous situations to try to get enough damage in time.
@@GloriousGEO I really haven't had that much trouble with missile players because I myself use 2 missiles on my back, then get to cover and pop out and shoot them, using cover to stop their missile or dodge them. Every map has a varying degree of cover you can use against missiles, but if you don't have your own long range option to retaliate there's gonna be issues for sure. I'm pretty sure Wall Sector is a bigger map or as big as these maps, and Watchpoint Delta and Bona Dea Dunes were awful open maps without cover to speak of against missile rats. The ranked maps are my favorites.
Unranked was just a bit of fun, but when progression is tied to a horrible imbalance that favors builds that inflict the most stagger or can spamm missiles from a distance over all else, that's when the frustration begins. Get staggered once, and half your health is gone, get staggered again within the next 5 seconds and be destroyed. You don't even get a shot off sometimes. All of that before considering how the promotion phase works. If you lose 4 matches during s-rank promotion it's faster to get losses by quitting until you drop down to A-rank because none of your wins will count towards anything.
Enjoy your cool looking plasma swap build all you want, I'm still ruining little rattas with my twin Delivery Boys, bomb thrower, and Xuan-Ge, manual aim of course. (I have been stuck in rank C for the last 2 days)
to be fair, that reaper guy was actually pretty decent guy. he is pretty active on AC6 steam forum and always gives sensible advice on PvP topics. as you probably know, steam forum is filled with deranged and unhinged individuals. still, I hate seeing him playing as a double-laser tank. hate those builds lol
Hopefully after the holidays fromsoft fixes this issue. Probably add win streaks to make the climb less grindy. Cause having to rank up 5 times in B rank saps a lot outta you. I've also seen how horribly random the points given out in S rank are. You can lose 20 and gain 3, like wtf. Having a decent internet connection requirement or better servers would help too. Noting sucks more than playing a laggy player and losing to them.
Hahahahaha yeah this is my ranked experience in a nutshell, it's terrible and especially in team ranked because draws count towards one of your promotional matches I've qualified for s rank 3 times and over half my matches are lost to rage quits.
tell me about it. I'm flying a light-mid weight(lighter side of the midweight class) bipedal with coral gen and grildwalker(still trying the alula) with usually a pair of rifles(which i change to something else but still keep one rifle.), Act-2 and Duo-3. I tend to fly high and rain from above. and depending on my enemy's loadout if i play kiting, stay on mid range or get a bit closer but still retaining that i fly above them as possible. and some people who are way grounded or unable to connect with their stagger combos just rage quit. and I play in Global server.
I play a melee build the uses missiles to apply pressure and laser lance to kill lol if you try and fly above me I will assault boost to you and laser lance you in the chest. If you win its GGs

@@Baku69895I actually built a mid weight that does beat both, and also occasional missile rats. It's not impossible you just need to pull out your architect hat when making ACs and really get into the tiny details of piloting.

bruh. AA requires calculated timing and distance to effectively use it. tldr, needs skill. Especially if compared with TA. easy 5 secs invincibility. no skill needed. I had too many fights where the enemy TA's pop 5 secs before timer runs out. At that moment, I already lost. Complete BS.
Like, I know the PvP in any recent Fromsoftware games (anything that came after Demon's Souls) is kind of an afterthought, and their main focus is always on creating a wonderful single player experience, but PvP in AC6 is just...outrageous. Not only did it has awful, if not outright horrible balance, the game mechanics are also outdated and dumb. Hell, even Halo 2 has better matchmaking session than whatever the hell AC6 has, and the former was from 2004! If anyone is trying to have a good time with AC6 PvP, I'd recommend playing with your friends, or at least someone you know and can communicate with. Play with certain rules, like "You can have no more than 2 missile-type weapons on your ACs" or "At least have 1 melee weapon on your build". It makes the game more fun and engaging.

Next weapons, the new machine gun lacks impact and fire rate, the new pulse missiles are oppressive in 3v3s and annoying 1v1s, and that new laggy laster cannon. AC6 already had too many laser cannons, and so they made another one? EXCEPT! This one does nearly the same damage as the wing cannons, has a fire rate similar to the heavy laser rifle, more ammo than the laser wings and 3/4 of the weight, stupidly low energy cost, AND leaves a AOE blast when fully charged! That AOE chases people if the connection is bad enough, doing massive damage! At even medium ping you pretty much can't miss at close to mid range! Then, there is that maps. AC6's maps were already way too big and didn't have any cover, so they made bigger maps with even less cover? Why?
And finally there should have been TWO types of online matchmaking, casual and ranked. Because that just the basics of online multi-player!
I've tried to return, I really have but when 90% of all matches are just sweat fests with meta builds, I just can't anymore. Especially when all most people do is fly upward with auto tracking missiles or cannons so you can't even try to hit them.

Yea I have been doing my due diligence to report the quitters in hopes that From might do something to combat this( and I mean "something" I realize there's only so much you can do about it). I've had quitters quit at the start of a match and also when they realized they couldn't beat me. In all honesty I've had matches where I ended up against someone a second or third time that was for sure not going to win against me and thought to myself I wish I could mildly apologize to them for what's about to happen... again. And kudos to those who let it happen and didn't quit, I am sorry that From's Matchmaking let that happen to you.

Wheelchairs have been nerfed pretty hard this match. They aren't really an issue now. Everyone justs lamm legs because they are better in every way.

An unranked matchmaking mode would be so good. Have all maps unlocked for it.
People who disconnect can actually be reported. On your match history, go to the match's Member detail, then report the following player.
There is an option to select an Item to Report as Style of play > Match Dropouts

I can't confirm this, but it also seems matchmaking works similar to how invasions work in Souls games; blocking players in Steam seems to make it so you won't be matched with them?
Ranking is full of people using really Powerful ass builds while, its always the Zimmermans, Earshots, Miniguns and other absolutely dipsh!t builds where i couldn't have fun to the point i resorted into using the Build i used to complete the game and modify it into Ranking use
I felt bad for battling a person 3 TIMES (yes i battled the same person 3 times) and i couldn't help but feel pity while using the build but to DM him that i was sorry

Between the latency issues causing shots to hit when you clearly dodge them, people who disconnect, and more, I just can’t enjoy PVP. It sucks, because PVP is the only place to really test yourself and your AC. PVE really doesn’t offer a challenge in any of the missions

If you don't play Bipedal in pvp then you don't get to complain lol. You're either flying around with more than enough HP, or you're rolling around with even more HP. Either way youre a coward. The real PvP is in the Bipedal fights

I agree the state of pvpbis horrendous, quite literally see the same 4 meta builds. I can understand someone disconnecting from a kite build they stand no chance against and same for a tank build. But if you're using those scummy builds and rage quit when you get outplayed, you really arent worthy of being called skillful. Hope they fix the issues in pvp a lot of weapons need to be looked at atm as it isn't just disconnects thats the issue. This game is super fun when everyone has a fair chance at winning but when you have these absolutely busted no chance at winning builds it sucks the fun out of it by a lot. Thats y im trying to climb to the top with a nonmeta medium weight build.

This stuff was bound to happen when FromSoft made the maps so big. I don't know what they were thinking. And they nerfed buerzels so midweights have a trouble catching up, forcing them to use lasers.
They might have killed pvp ironically enough, due to the map choices.
I love the maps in Ranked, they really aren't "too big", they're a breath of fresh air and all have some amount of cover to use. LOC Station 31 could use a smaller ceiling, but otherwise I'm a big fan of the maps.
Really I think Ranked matches need a 3-minute timer instead of 2-minutes to allow for more tactics against enemies. Feels bad when you fight a tank that knows they can run and hide because they have a life lead. Short timers give an inherent advantage to ACs with high AP because it forces a player to put themselves in more dangerous situations to try to get enough damage in time.

@@GloriousGEO I really haven't had that much trouble with missile players because I myself use 2 missiles on my back, then get to cover and pop out and shoot them, using cover to stop their missile or dodge them.
Every map has a varying degree of cover you can use against missiles, but if you don't have your own long range option to retaliate there's gonna be issues for sure.
I'm pretty sure Wall Sector is a bigger map or as big as these maps, and Watchpoint Delta and Bona Dea Dunes were awful open maps without cover to speak of against missile rats. The ranked maps are my favorites.

Unranked was just a bit of fun, but when progression is tied to a horrible imbalance that favors builds that inflict the most stagger or can spamm missiles from a distance over all else, that's when the frustration begins. Get staggered once, and half your health is gone, get staggered again within the next 5 seconds and be destroyed. You don't even get a shot off sometimes. All of that before considering how the promotion phase works. If you lose 4 matches during s-rank promotion it's faster to get losses by quitting until you drop down to A-rank because none of your wins will count towards anything.
Yeah, too many meta builds in higher ranks to have any sort of fun.

Hopefully after the holidays fromsoft fixes this issue. Probably add win streaks to make the climb less grindy. Cause having to rank up 5 times in B rank saps a lot outta you. I've also seen how horribly random the points given out in S rank are. You can lose 20 and gain 3, like wtf.
Having a decent internet connection requirement or better servers would help too. Noting sucks more than playing a laggy player and losing to them.
S rank leaderboard is absolutely worthless. Don't bother engaging with it once u hit S rank.

Hahahahaha yeah this is my ranked experience in a nutshell, it's terrible and especially in team ranked because draws count towards one of your promotional matches I've qualified for s rank 3 times and over half my matches are lost to rage quits.

I'm flying a light-mid weight(lighter side of the midweight class) bipedal with coral gen and grildwalker(still trying the alula) with usually a pair of rifles(which i change to something else but still keep one rifle.), Act-2 and Duo-3.
I tend to fly high and rain from above. and depending on my enemy's loadout if i play kiting, stay on mid range or get a bit closer but still retaining that i fly above them as possible.
and some people who are way grounded or unable to connect with their stagger combos just rage quit.
and I play in Global server.

@@Baku69895I actually built a mid weight that does beat both, and also occasional missile rats. It's not impossible you just need to pull out your architect hat when making ACs and really get into the tiny details of piloting.

I had too many fights where the enemy TA's pop 5 secs before timer runs out. At that moment, I already lost. Complete BS.
Like, I know the PvP in any recent Fromsoftware games (anything that came after Demon's Souls) is kind of an afterthought, and their main focus is always on creating a wonderful single player experience, but PvP in AC6 is just...outrageous. Not only did it has awful, if not outright horrible balance, the game mechanics are also outdated and dumb. Hell, even Halo 2 has better matchmaking session than whatever the hell AC6 has, and the former was from 2004!
If anyone is trying to have a good time with AC6 PvP, I'd recommend playing with your friends, or at least someone you know and can communicate with. Play with certain rules, like "You can have no more than 2 missile-type weapons on your ACs" or "At least have 1 melee weapon on your build". It makes the game more fun and engaging.
I agree completely. The most fun I had in AC6 PvP was playing with my discord members in custom matches.
