i had a beloved bolognese dog named Rocco and we loved this song. i picked it as his song because my dog loved nothing more than sitting in the grass on a warm spring day and squinting at the sun and feeling the breeze in his ears. we spent so many days together in my garden enjoying the fresh air and getting our ankles wet in the morning dew while waiting for sun to rise. he was a beautiful white dog and i called him my cloud. three days ago my precious dog was struck and killed by a distracted driver in a horrific accident. when it was all over i came home from the vet and stopped to pick up some of the things i had left outside in my rush to get him to the pet hospital, and the sky opened up and it started pouring heavy sheets of rain. but the day after was a beautiful temperate summer day and i know my cloud sent me a gorgeous day to live in to make the first day without him a little bit easier. so i laid down and listened to this song and thought about all the impossibly soft, simple, but luxurious days we spent together in his almost 12 years of life. he would have been 12 on june 22. i will always think of my sweet cloud when i hear this joyful song.
If I could give a grade to every performance of every piece I've ever heard in my life, this would be the highest. It is perfect. I wish I could personally thank the performers.
I can't stop listening to this, over and over and over. This song and this performance in particular is just like a warm spring breeze, and all that comes with it. It is so full of warmth and life and happiness. This performance may be my favorite musical discovery of the year.

Unfortunately, even London is beyond my reach at this time. Thank you for responding to my comment. I shall listen to some of your favorites. It is a goal of mine to travel to Europe and hear some of my favorite artists perform! ^_^
Hello again, have you any recordings of yours? I have just checked my playlists and realised they was all private. Not really been using youtube to save anything until recently. Now I know why I couldn't see things when on the ipad. I went into a small independent music shop in the UK and Christina Pluhar was playing. Bought the album there and then. It was amazing. since bought others and thoroughly watch the videos here. Brilliant music.
I had a former student who wrote an entire doctoral theory dissertation on the *rhythm* of this madrigal. I thought that was totally insane until I saw the score and realized that driving bass line is not notated as you hear it. What we hear as the offbeat--the third beat in a three-beat meter--is written as the downbeat. So there's a complex interaction between the perceived pulse and the written one. So her dissertation was not as crazy as I thought, though still pretty nuts. And BTW, I listen to this performance all the time. I've loved this madrigal for years, and this one is something quite special.

Oh my, this brings back memories. I taught this to a children's choir I directed a very long time ago. We didn't have instrumental accompaniment expect a lone cello playing the continuo bass line, and we went a little slower. But OMG the kids ages 8-12 learned all that. It was thrilling to perform it.

Incredible piece of music. Like many others I can't stop listening to this. This is my favorite version. Interestingly it has a very "modern" feel to it. Just wow.....

Overwhelming. Catalan soprano Nuria Rial shows always happy. She seems to sing more for herself than for others. Perhaps that's why she doesn't need the vibratos that other interpreters abuse of.
