I'm glad that they release these "Top 5" baits BEFORE the month starts, unlike some other fishing channels that make their Top 5 bait videos 3 weeks into that month.
For real!! When I look at the Baits for the upcoming month I like to compare them to the baits for the current month; after watching this video I thought I’d search the top five baits for the month of May bc on Guntersville there’s a couple of baits that always over lap which I’m sure is the same everywhere. However, point being 3 of the “top 5 baits for May” were published anywhere from 4 to 9 days ago. Wanna comment “umm 4 days ago guy? 5 days before Months end. Walmart or any retailer isn’t gonna wait till May 26th to send out their sales flyer for May”
You guys ever try the Volup swimmer from Bottom Up? It’s a 5 inch swimbait but it’s got some incredible body roll and tail kick. I just started using them last year for a little larger presentation and man do they crush them. I’m sure you guys have tried them but if not try them out
This wobble head and junebug creature combo just changed my life.... I've always struggled at my local reservoir. Not anymore! I've been ON them in NE Ohio with this wobble head. Back to back, 5 pounders from the bank just walking and burning it along the rocky shoreline. Like he says, this bait has "IT"
June already, I've been fishing the wobble head completely wrong based on this, cant wait to take this info and apply it my next trip. thanks for all the info you guys have put out over the years. I'm sure I speak for alot of us when I say your videos have helped to make me a way better angler.
We appreciate your in depth analysis/instructions on lure and rigging types for each month. I've learned quite a deal from you sir. Thanks and stay cool!
I will be heading up to our Northwesters Wisconsin cabin on Friday. Missed it last week. But the Prior 3 & 4th week of May the Crappies were insane. They were hitting everything from a Mini Mite to a Bob Lewis Mini Rattle Trap. Even Beetle Spins. Once I found them it was every other cast and sometimes every cast. We released every Crappie we caught. They will be bigger next year.
Just want to thank you guys for all the information you guys provide. Once I found this channel, every aspect of my fishing has benefited. From multiple new P.B.s in weight/quantity, to rarely if ever losing a fish or line/knot failure. Bill Dance was my basic schooling, but T.B. was my collegiate education!
You guys are awesome. I do appreciate the information that seems to be unbiased (its not sponsored information) I appreciate you guys sharing this stuff.
I apply what you guys teach and it works wonders. Got my first topwater fish on the popper and a new PB on a swimbait, all because of the tips you guys give.
Matt, I tried to wobble head a few years back lost it in the first 5 minutes. Haven't fished one since I'm sure I'll learn how to fish it in your wobble head video. Not sure it can be fished from shore though.
Bama bug is about the only color I buy for everything now except bait fish colors. It gets bites! Junebug/green pumpkin, can’t beat it! Shaky head is killer year round.
Okay Mighty Matt, you say about your swimbaits, “ I wanna be different than everybody else “ then hold up the Swammer, and Largo Shad😂😂😂😂 which you’ve been praising for a long time……. I’m just happy I have them, because you guys recommend baits, and they’re sold out or backordered😂😂😂 BRAVO TB You guys have earned every blessing you get 💯 I did have to get a couple of Swamp Lords to hold me til the Jackall is back in stock🤷🏻♂️😎🍀🎣🍀
Would like to see a in depth shakey head/ big worm video. Specifically showing what rods you use for the technique. I throw a shaky head often but I hate spinning tackle. Good stuff as usual!!
The place I normally fish is VERY tough...Lowland urban reservoir with very little structure besides weeds during summer. The ZMAN Flashback Mini chatterbait (1/8 oz) has been the best producer for me lately. I always try natural looking shad imitations (the lake is loaded with gizzard shad) but can't seem to entice them very often. Persistence does pay off though, I got my only Colorado Master Angler 2 years ago with a 20", 4lb smallmouth on a BPS "The Egg" in a natural shad color. The lake is mainly a walleye fishery, they seem to really like leeches on a slip bobber setup, about 4-6 feet deep. Rainbow trout fishing is slow too, but if you find a powerbait color that they like on that day, you can get your limit.
i bought my first pack of largo shads in april. no joke each paddle tail caught over 20 fish before it was no longer usable. they are some of the most durable plastice ive ever used. and they catch fish like matt said when nothing elsr will that 3" one is money
I use tubes all the time but I Texas rig them using the Trokar tube hook and that hook is freakin awesome and in my opinion the best tube hook ever! Eagle Claw has Trokar tube hooks but they also make it in the regular needle point just called the Eagle Claw tube hook and they are cheaper to buy but work just as well awesome hooks
I’ve been throwing everything at them here near STL and have have zero luck. Frogs, ploppers, poppers, spinners, and cranks…no luck. Hopefully I’ll be rewarded with a pb this year for my efforts.
So top waters, spinners, and cranks is everything you got? Sounds like you need to mix it up even more, maybe try some finesse techniques. 90 percent of my fish don’t come from any of those lures.
6-7" white soft jerkbait...Googan Dart, Deps, or Zoom Magnum Fluke...the bigger fish go crazy over these...past 2 years, the 7" Googan Dart has caught 95% of my bass 4-7 lbs...big bass for ohio
Try some small paddle tails on a jig head or flashy swimmer depending on cover. I love them when I need to finesse but don’t really want to slow down. Keep the colors simple and work the bait above the cover. Hope you catch some soon
Took the Yak out on Memorial day to a little grassy lake here in Ohio. 79 acres, not very big. Got on the water about 8 and stayed out till 1pm. Caught 25+ fish, just absolutely crushed em. Just about all of em on a Showerblows worked over the milfoils in 3-6ft of water. Damn near every cast had a blow up. Just really reinvigorated my love for bass fishing
You guys are amazing and have been a huge inspiration to me. One of my biggest questions is… what do you replace your ZMan chatter bait snaps with? If at all. I’ve had two snaps fail on me in the last month. I like the old twisted wire that were on the older chatter baits and have duplicated those with DIY spinner bait wire. If you could let us know that would be great! Thanks for all you do. Appreciate all your content.
I’ve really been slacking this year and not getting out as much as I normally do. By this time last year I had already caught several 5s and a couple 6s but I have no big fish yet this year and I haven’t been fishing in a month and a half. Work has been really crazy lately because I’m an air conditioning technician and when it gets hot we get super busy but it’s like this every year and I still found the time to get out in years past. I hope I can find some motivation and start getting out a lot more.
What rod do you suggest for underspin/paddle tail? It was talked about in video but not in description. Haven't found the right one for that application quite yet. Thanks in advance!
Could you make a video on pike fishing and what size reels type of rod type of bait ect I know this is mainly a bass channel but figured it’s worth a shot to ask worst case scenario I get a no 😂😂😂😂💪💪 keep up the great work guys you stole my attention about Tuesday this week watched about all your damn videos 😂😂😂😂🙌🙌🙌🙌 love it thank you for your money spent, time used and your engagement not just serious got some jokes and laughs in their aswell keep it up
It's going to be an EWG trebble probably slightly oversized but not big enough to get hung up on eachother ...KVD Mustad, Gamakatsu and VMC or whatever your go to is ...they did do a whole video a couple years ago I believe
Bama bug is about the only color I buy for everything now except bait fish colors. It gets bites! Junebug/green pumpkin, can’t beat it! Shaky head is killer year round.

It is hard to believe June is already knocking on the door. I'm still looking for the first big catch of the year.
Me too
Caught mine in March 10.5
You’ll get it.
Dang we all in the same boat 🤔 waiting on that big bite 💯🙏🏿❤️
Only bass ive caught this year is a tiny dink 😂
Paddle tails never do me wrong, and i just use these 2 inch Walmart baits called magic minows. I caught myself a 3.5 lb large mouth with this thing.
This wobble head and junebug creature combo just changed my life....
I've always struggled at my local reservoir. Not anymore!
I've been ON them in NE Ohio with this wobble head.

This is lowkey one of my favorite feelings. I love when I find out I’m throwing the right stuff, just need to learn the movement!
We appreciate your in depth analysis/instructions on lure and rigging types for each month. I've learned quite a deal from you sir. Thanks and stay cool!
For us northern guys, this is gonna end up being top 5 baits for Mid July 😂 Need it to warm up instead of hanging a little above 60 everyday
Does northern include Massachusetts? I’m getting into fishing this year so idk if I should watch this or not.
Just use these lures all year. They get hungry everyday and they will bite
if you’re looking for anything specific
1:19 swinging jig head
3:36 topwater
7:14 paddletail swimbait
10:22 crank bait
13:50 straight tail worm

This is a wonderful compliment to TB and I find your insight matches my experience after watching these videos too!

I’ve had a lot catches on the T Mac in Kentucky special. It’s one of the colors that I’ve found smallmouth and largies both really like.
I landed a new PB on a frog this month! Topwater is really great and I can't stop throwing it!
Okay Mighty Matt, you say about your swimbaits, “ I wanna be different than everybody else “ then hold up the Swammer, and Largo Shad😂😂😂😂 which you’ve been praising for a long time……. I use the 3 and 1/2-in storm suicide shad and I put it as a trailer on my swim. Jigs works really well.
I love how paw paw in the beginning don’t even react to you catching a smoker😂😂

Crazy to think that I’m actually catching fish now from watching SO SO many of your guys videos. I’m ready for some amateur tournaments 😆
i bought my first pack of largo shads in april. no joke each paddle tail caught over 20 fish before it was no longer usable. they are some of the most durable plastice ive ever used. and they catch fish like matt said when nothing elsr will that 3" one is money
6-8" soft jerkbaits are soooo underrated.....90% of all my bass over 4 lbs have been on these...the big girls must think it's a bowl of ice cream
THANK YOU for another information packed video. You guys are AWESOME!!!
What lure would you use in dark water in hot weather
trying the pivot+adreno craw...."Junebug" in my tannic VA water is 1 of the prime players, for the ultra bigs moving over into June/Purple.
I got those and they work great when you are bank fishing
Matt buddy, when you do your dedicated tube video you MUST reserve a few minutes of that video for curly tail GRUBS as well!
Look forward to these videos every month
Looking forward to the wobble head video!!
I trust you and Tim. Thanks! I catch more by following your lead but still haven’t cracked the code on speed cranking the DD75.
The deception worm is a bad boy!
When i want to find out if the bottom is rock, sand or mud. The wobble head is how i find out whats on bottom 💪
Thank you Matt, that was awesome 👏👏👏
Watching these videos it’s one month ahead . I live in mn and when this video say June it’s actually July baits for me lol
It's been a lull for me so far ... hopefully I'll be able to target some with the scope soon
Thanks for the video!! You guys are awesome!
Split shot rig and a black squarebill

Fluke?

Thanks this definitely will help! Subscribed
Shocked to see that the shower blows didn’t come up! But I love my Megabass Giant Dog X
I heard you say wobble head and I immediately knew where i was gonna use my z man rattle snaker first.
Thanks!

Decoy Egg Snap is the way to go
Yeah the jackhammer comes stock with the DECOY Egg Snap.

Man don’t beat yourself up too bad. Time got away from a lot of us this past year or so
What rod power and action bait caster would you use for the big shakey head?
Can ragetail work also on those swimbaits jigs or do the slimmer one work better
What rod do you suggest for underspin/paddle tail? It was talked about in video but not in description. Haven't found the right one for that application quite yet. Thanks in advance!
Jackall Kaera Frog hook size replacement?
Are you throwing the daint dog x on braid or floro?
I got so many fish on the wobble head last month, but then the bottom grass came in and just bogged down that football head
*Oh man I love* that frog. Ooooomfff
