That one agency will dictate who can compete based on their personal bias. Having an agency that can shut you down based on arbitrary rules is not good for a free market. All Internet Services are neutral when it comes to making money. All of them have to compete. If they started charging extra charges for services on the Net they did not create, they would be buried by competition. Cell phone services are rapidly doing away with charges for long distance within the US for that very reason. If your cable or phone connected ISP started charging extra, believe me, I would go into business with a public wifi and a satellite antenna to beat them MYSELF. That will eventually happen through the cell towers, anyway, IF THE FCC WILL GET OUT OF THE WAY.

Keep in mind today we have access to more than one source. We are able to form our own opinions with multiple sources of information but with internet providers having the ability of blocking off certain sites or slowing them down we don't have that same privilege.

You guys do realize that it Congress could still tell the FCC to sit the fuck down. The Supreme Court could be compelled by citizens to overturn the repeal. Since it is no longer a federal law the states themselves could make laws for Net Neutrality. The FCC did what we knew they would, but unelected idiots don't get the final say, or did you all miss that part of US Government class.

As a high school student how are many children going to be able to do their work? If its going to cost you to use google or any website for that fact how are our children going to be able to flourish in school and have the right tools for development. Personally everything at my school is through google docs, turnitin, noodletools etc.. and i know so many parents are not in a financial state to afford to pay for web access. I think one of the biggest fears Internet users have with the repeal of Net Neutrality is their lack of options when it comes to ISPs. The Internet was designed to be Open and Accessible... But when people don't get to choose their best option, it restricts what the Internet can be.

I also do not want any part of the internet if we have to start paying to use services on the internet. The cable companies hate You Tube. The cable companies will want to bill us for everything we watch on the internet which also means that You Tube will not be able to provide the music, documentaries, unbiased news and so much more that we all have enjoyed over the years because the cable companies only care about money and they will use censor to control over what we will be able to view. Facebook will also suffer the consequences of the repeal of Net Neutrality, instead of a free download, everyone will have to buy access to it in a package with Facebook and You Tube. Groups have become the backbone for Facebook, once these companies are under the control of the cable companies This is going to majorly affect all music groups, crime groups, etc.
Not everyone will have the same access to all these sites. The cable companies are going to charge every one of us for using these services.

People will pay for whatever they "want" these days and not even do anything about it. My wife and I were talking about this issue and she disagreed with me. Told me "People will not pay for just anything they want want. They would sooner just not pay for it." SO I decided right then and there to test my theory. As we were getting in our car on a busy Xmas shopping Saturday I noticed a car was waiting for our parking spot near the front door of the mall. Idea!!! I got back out of our car walked up to the driver waiting and said "For $5.00 I will pull out right now so you can have this spot or I can go back in the mall and shop some more." The guy in the car immediately pulled out a five dollar bill and handed it to me, he even thanked me!! I help up the $5.00 bill and waved it at my wife, then handed it back to him and said "Thanks but I can't take your money for something I don't really own. But you did help support a point I was making to my wife. Have a Merry Xmas." and I walked back to my car, pulled out and left. She now agrees with me, people will willing pay for what they "want" to save them a few extra steps.

Good question, I think its safe to say Pirate Bay and friends are above that for now. I know Government entities have been trying to shut them down for years, and do periodically, but they always launch up again. For some reason (to my knowledge) ISPs have never targeted them.
But if there is any threat to Pirate Bay and friends it is the ISPs because if they decide to literally Block internet access to their domain names or region then....they're screwed. We Can't access what they cant access lol. And it would defeat the purpose if Pirate Bay started charging fees like the ISPs and big companies. Its always been about making the best information available for free. That's why I was annoyed when they started asking for Memberships.
Lets hope things stay the same.

Well, Net Neutrality is officially gone and nothing has changed from what I’ve seen. Nothings been faster or slower. I’ve never gotten offers of better internet speeds or quality.
The saddest part is that they aren't trying to offer better services through more payments...but rather give you bad service so you're forced to pay more for your original service.
