I am incredibly fair skinned, so the jellyfish palette actually is perfection for me. The bronzer is a perfect tone, the blushes and highlight are beautiful, and the finishing powders work perfectly for my skin. All of the previous ones had tones that were too warm or dark for me, so I have been loving this one ❤

Same here, I got the lightest palette last year. Diffused light and Ethereal light are both great colors for me. My skintone is fair/cool/olive, which probably explains why these colors look good for me.
I'm gonna disagree. All "brightening" finishing powders are way too dark for true fair skin. It was definitely a gap so I love it! The whole palette was made for my skintone (finally) and yes I'm being selfish lol but it's the first one I can actially use every single shade 😊 Loved your review!
I enjoyed your review. On the Jellyfish palette, I want to add a perspective. I have light medium, neutral leaning cool skin tone, and am 59. This palette is perfection! I was blown away at how amazing this made my skin look. Anyone with mature skin and a light to light med skin tone should jump at this palette. The bronzer is my favorite neutral from HG, the new blush is fall berry colored, while the diffused heat has a brightness to it that together they lend themselves to subtle layering. The finishing powders are amazing - for all over and center face brightening. It is the first palette I can use EVERYTHING! Even the strobe highlight is amazing on the eyelids, so between the bronzer and the highlight, (and a touch of blusher) I have an eye look. This palette for me is almost a full face of makeup! I am a bit of a collector of these palettes and this one hits it out of the park for me.

Since I have never owned any of HG pallets before (haha, there’s still people who got it for the first time) only because I’m loaded with luxury makeup, but couldn’t resist it this time around, I went for leopard. Colors are perfect for me, I’m enjoying it fully. Did I need it given the amount of bronzers and blushes I have? Absolutely not! But nonetheless I’m loving it! So happy to have you back Sofia, and cannot wait to see the video about your vacation! 🙃

I'm probably the only person on the planet that picked up the Leopard palette. Even though it's mostly existing shades, I don't have most of them and I felt like the Jellyfish was way too light for my skintone while the Snake is way too dark. So I'm happy! Kuddos to Hourglass for FINALLY putting in mostly new shades. Let's hope that trend continues next year.

I am fair and I absolutely adore the finishing powders from the Jellyfish and Butterfly palette, that I’ve bought last year and I really use them a lot.
I don’t like other powders on my skin, they always look dark, yellow or muddy on me.
So I will pick up the Jellyfish from this year, I enjoy every single shade from here 👍🏻

Hi Sofia! I had to decide before your review and picked up the leopard-and I love it. I am light-medium skin tone and this is my first hourglass palette. Despite the less than glowing reviews I was seeing, the leopard called to me and I use it everyday.

I love your comparisons on skin and in the pan as well as the demos. I think the snake palette looks great on you using the techniques you showed. I have the Elephant palette from last year and I do love it, the bronzer works better for me in the summer though. I think I will still pick up the snake palette. I have the leopard palette and I love it! I have almost nothing else from Hourglass so I don’t care if it’s new or already existing. And you are right: the two pink blushes are very similar on the skin on this palette too. The bronzer is okay, the highlighter and finishing powder are fantastic.

I agree Sophia that the palette can be used for a light skinned black woman, like myself, but not a dark to deep skinned black woman. Hourglass needs two palettes for tan and dark to deep. The tan one should not basically be for medium skin disguised as the palette for darker skin
Totally agree. More deep shades 100% are way overdue and a true fair palette for paper white skin are also lacking, although this Jellyfish one is finally closer
Yup, I'm a medium tan black woman and I could easily use this. Frankly, after Hourglass tried to market their Ambient Lighting II palette for deep skin and it was all existing shades until they finally came out with palette III, my expectations are in the gutter.
They basically only made palettes for fair to light people for years, and now getting into medium tan so it'll probably be 2040 before we get a palette for deeper skin. It's disappointing.
The jellyfish palette is NOT okay for fair skin tones. The blushes are too deep. So they fail both ends of the spectrum.

I am fair skinned and plan on getting jellyfish! I had defused heat blush long time ago and other stuff in it looks very promising and I actually don’t have any of it. Looking forward!!
I wore the snake palette to my last “summer night out” dinner downtown. It was lovely and warm. Now the weather has shifted and I’ll be leaning more on my owl (jellyfish) palette. I adore the snake brushes. Glad I got two. 👏🏼 Nice review!

I really love how constructive and transparent you are in your reviews! While I understand makeup reviewing is a business, some reviewers are more diplomatic than others. Might get the snake palette for a golden/bronzed look, which I enjoy as well all year. Also agree with you that the deepest might not serve the demographic they are marketing towards since I'm fair-light and am thinking of getting it.

I bought the Leopard pallet through beautylish since its sold out in sephora canada and I must say im very happy with my purchase. This is my first palette from HG so I have no regret at all. Very beautiful ☺️🙈
I don't have any previous Hourglass palettes and this year I purchased the Jellyfish palette with the Leopard case from the Hourglass website. I took the palette with me on vacation and I love it, it looks beautiful on my fair skin and it was so handy to have all of the products in one beautiful palette. Very happy I purchased it!

I've been looking forward to this review! I got the Jellyfish in the owl packaging and the Leopard in the Jellyfish packaging because the last time I bought these palettes was in 2018? Wow - that's five years 😆 Honestly I find most HG palettes quite repetitive but thought it was time for a refresh and the new packaging was quite stunning. I understand why their finishing powders remain the same - they are tried and tested and don't mind seeing them over and over. However, I truly wish we'd get more variety in the blush category - they could go for a berry, a plum or a terracotta or even a cool pink blush but they always go for a classic warm pink or coral blush.
Nonetheless despite my palettes being 5 years ago they're the perfect palettes to get a cohesive one and done look without thinking too much and they're also the perfect travel palette - you practically don't need to carry much more apart from one palette if you're tight on space.

As someone with a fair cool undertone, I was stoked to get the Jellyfish palette. Most of Hourglass palettes are too deep and warm for me so I am so excited to finally have an Hourglass palette! ❤
I totally agree with you. I’m basically fluorescent white (usually the lightest shade in any shade range) and the Jellyfish palette works great for me. I would have loved another blush than the already existing pink, but otherwise it works wonderfully!

I loved your demos as always and comparison, love the snake pallet on you , like you I personally love tiger pallet more as the finishing powder from snake I use it as highlighter and the bronzer lightly shows on me so deponer then me have to use it as finishing poder or highlighter have rich skin tone .

I bought the snake palette. I figure I can go in with a light hand and use it everywhere. I don’t have a lot of the peachy, coral tones and I love the Hourglass powder formula. I’m pretty happy that these are new colours and I love this palette design the best.

Thank you so much for the review. I have the sculpture palette, probably used once or twice. I don't need the new palettes! I just got mine out and will be enjoying it. I wish hourglass released another blush quad or blush palette, their blushes are my favorite part of their makeup.
Hourglass is considering that a leopard, not a Jaguar. I purchased the leopard palette. I haven’t purchased a palette in a few years. My powders have dried out and I was happy to have a fresh one. I adore the Hourglass powder formula. It does wonders for my mature skin.
It's not Hourglass, it's biologists consider it to be leopard, not a jaguar 😂
I love the snake on you. You can defo work it. I agree about the blushes looking the same. I have all 3 palettes and do find that. Bronzer in all 3 work better than the previous ones for my skin tone. I would love to see some neutral blushes next year!

I bought the jelly fish palette and I have fair skin with a neutral undertone. The blushes look way brighter on me. They can look red/pink on me. I wish they were a little more neutral.
I bought the jellyfish already (and enjoy it) but am here for Sofia spice :))

Sofia! I love your thorough reviews I’m always just so excited to see your take on products. As for the palettes it was so hard for me to decide on the jellyfish vs leopard. I have a light medium neutral complexion and overall prefer cool tones in my makeup. At the end of the day, I ended up choosing jellyfish and I’m really happy with my choice. I think the biggest deciding factor personally for me was the bronzers. The bronzer in leopard is actually the same in the elephant palette and I just couldn’t see myself reaching for that warm of a bronzer. I much rather prefer the neutral bronzer from jellyfish and I really have enjoyed everything from the jellyfish so far. My only con is I definitely wished the blushes in general were more different from each other. I also really don’t like how the mirror doesn’t stand on its own 😅. Overall, I love how skin like and natural the products are and the formula is very buildable if I wanted more pigment

Jeez!! I knew you were going to bring up the sculpture pallets when in the beginning of the video you mentioned “ you had something interesting to share”. I too think the sculpture pallet is one of the best. Ghost pallet is another one. Which I have the four blush quad one. And it’s divine. Thanks so much! After your review I will be saving money for something else. I have plenty of HG including the darker shade of the trio. And that works best on Asian Indian skin tone and more deeper tones. I have also used that one as my eyeshadow. 😊

I got the Snake palette in colour 3….i am light medium olive type colouring. I bought palette 3 as it had 4 NEW shades and I use a light hand when using it. I find it beautiful and the bronzer is quite neutral so it looks good on my skin tone.
I am enjoying it .By the way I got mine from Cult Beauty and used some of my points so it was slightly cheaper🙋♀️🇬🇧

Great review. I grabbed the middle palette/jaguar. As I don’t have any prior Hourglass holiday palettes. It’s nice and a good option for people who don’t have any of their palettes. I always wanted them in the past but I definitely agree that the blushes being so similar always threw me off. I finally finished my mood exposure so I was happy to find something that included it. I do think however that I should have chosen the option you gave at the end of the video. I like the look of that bronzer WAY more than the one in Jaguar. And I like the 2 finishing powders better too. Oh well! I’ll use this still. May even grab that palette at some point too.
They will probably have a deal for Black Friday. I think that is when I picked it up myself last year!

This was my first Hourglass palette. I love it. I got the Jellyfish in the Owl packaging. I just took it traveling and it was fantastically useful. Having Hourglass powders when doing makeup on the road with janky lighting gives me the best possible chance of looking good! They just blend and make everything look pretty even if my application was less than ideal.
Hourglass needs to add another darker palette to the party pronto. Why couldn’t they have made an Owl palette for deep and dark complexions this year? They already had 4 compacts. Everyone needs to have the option to try and use these powders. There’s just nothing else on the market like them.

The Jellyfish palette is perfect for my fair to light skin. I can't use Dim Light as it is too dark & pulls orange on my neutral skin. Tried using it as a bronzer but colour isn't right so I'm happy with my purchase, just wish the pans were magnetic & interchangeable!
I got the sculpture palette after I used up my Ghost palette (which was perfect for me) but this sculpture palette is a great second….this is actually why I did buy any of last year’s releases or this years because it has every thing I need/want and is definitely the right tones for my light neutral skin tone…saved me a lot of coin too! Lol

So I am an Hourglass Face Palette Virgin!! Lol. 😊 I do not have a face palette from Hourglass. While the new Holiday packaging is so pretty, I honestly think I'm sold on the Sculpting palette! This palette really looks like the best choice for travel wear, most universal shades for light-medium skin (I'm LM with cool, rosy undertones), and shades that would work with most wardrobe colors. I had watched a few other reviews of these palettes, but once again you nailed it!! I just love your honest thoughts on new products. This review was definitely the most helpful!! 💐🌺💐

Of course i want to see your own Sofia review, dear Sofia, also when it lasts much longer, i love how detailed you discuss these 2 of the new Hourglass palettes, beautiful application, and always so clear and honest!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩I love these palettes, do not only use them when on a (short) holiday, for instance the bronzer in the Elephant palette from last year is indeed warmer, more for summer, but love the blushes in that palette so much, and the rest of the palette!!! They are more far being all inclusive, but i agree with you that the Snake palette is not for deep/deepest skintones, they could have made a 4th one? But i love these palettes, and i appreciate that Hourglass is crystal clear what goes to the animals, where, for instance Chantecaille is not, Sofia, from The Netherlands, it seems i support nothing when purchasing special collections from them. I got jellyfish palette for its high lighter and bronzer . Though I like the bronzer in snake palette more😊 since I didn’t want to customize tigger palette, waiting for discount on it.

I've purchased the snake palette 🎨 I fell in love with the colors and as an orange/ peachy/coral color lover that blushes got me and I loved the fact that the bronzer had a reddish undertone. Although I'm light and light/ medium in summer, as having new shades I was drawn to that one immediately. Plus I don't like powders very much since I'm dry skin but the hourglass powders are great for dry skin 🎉Love koukla mou from Greece 🇬🇷 ❤❤❤( edit: I've hit pan all the sculpture palette from 2 holidays ago , but not crazy for that mood exposure shade everyone talks about too mauve on me but I used it anyway 😂So yeah , I wanted the tiger palette but it was sold out fairly quickly so I had to get my hands on that snake 🐍 palette 😅)
Are these new shades only exclusive with the palette or will they eventually be sold individually with regular packages

If Hourglass was able to make 4 different cases, then they could make four different shade selections. I don’t think Hourglass has ever made a truly dark\deepbronzer, as the powder in the Tiger palette was a finishing powder
Yes and they made so many new shades for the snake palette so it's disappointing that they didn't mix it up more or create the deeper bronzer
It's like they remembered the pasty princesses but not the dark skin majesty I was thinking the same thing . Kinda weird I'm sure some deep reddy shades and some dark orangy shades would have been appreciated. With as much as they charge for them they could be inclusive

If you have a fair to medium complexion and can see past the beautiful creature packing options, I completely agree with Sophia in stating that the AMBIENT LIGHTING EDIT - ✨SCULPTURE✨ is the BEST Hourglass palette!! ❤✨

Thank you for your review! I have been able to resist buying these so far (though I almost weakened a few times...lol), and I think I'm going to pass. While the palettes are cute, none of the shades are better than any of the individual blushes and bronzers that I already have. So I don't see a scenario where I'd ever choose these Hourglass blushes or bronzers over any of the ones I already have. I also sold my Elephant and Tiger palettes from last year (Elephant was just blah on me, and Tiger was way too dark). So that's at least $200-$300 saved so far this holiday season...3 more months of tempting makeup releases to go! 😂

I bought the shade 1 and 3 in the custom leopard (shade 1) and owl (shade 3) . And I bought the brush even though it has snakes on it.
We got the same in opposites 😂😂
And to add, I’m fair so those finishing powders work perfect all over my face 😂😂😂😂 I have them in the larger single packaging.
Oh and on my fair skin the bronzer is orange so what I’ve been going is a cream contour and that fixes the orange

I think the snake is a coral snake, so the coral shades make sense. The 😊snake palette is really pretty on you- but I agree that it is more for medium-tan rather than dark/deep

Thanks so much for the review! I saw them all in person and the only one I really thought was pretty was the Jaguar! But I don't like the metal cases or the pictures on them...just prefer the usual packaging. So I didn't get any. But the Sculpture palette looks like a great one! Quick question...how do you stop Minnie from eating your Fiddle Leaf? They are toxic to cats and I've only had mine 4 days and have chewed up leaves!
haha. For some reason Minnie only cares about plants that are long and grassy, like a palm tree. She tries to chew on those so we got rid of our. She tends to ignore the rest of them!

Watching you use the “deep palette,” I watched another TH-camr (kackie) take a big brush and without even looking down swirled all the pans very heavily, and then she just started running that all over her whole face, and nothing happened. Well, she looked cute but nothing bad happened. And I feel like thats a good AND bad thing. I’m glad it’s so beginner friendly and mistake proof (read:me proof), but if it doesn’t matter which you use where… then why do I actually need these different powders? You looked stunning after using the deep palette, and self identify as fair. I mostly see making things so flexible as a nice safety for myself (light medium) but not to the point of failing both ends of the spectrum.

I prefer the paler Jellyfish one than the Snake palette on you. Mind you I'm not a huge bronzer lover, but it looks too much. I feel you can get away with the Finishing powder in the snake palette as your bronzer. I thought that looked nice before you added the bronzer. I have the old Scuplture palette and its very well used, and my favourite. I received the Butterfly one last year as a gift and I haven't used it nearly as much, though I do like it.
I think peoples definition on deep skin tone is the question : to me that model is not deep she would be more on lighter side compared to me. The palette I enjoy is the bacon looking one

Even as someone with fair skin, it really frustrates me that HG doesn’t have more options for people with deeper skin tones. I had actually stopped purchasing from them up until last year because of the issue, especially since it can be solved so easily. When they came out with the Tiger palette, I decided to make a purchase after hearing reviews from several creators with deeper skin tones who really enjoyed it. However, I think I’m back to not buying from HG (yay for my wallet) because the fact that they’re selling an empty Owl palette when they could’ve m created a deeper palette is ridiculous. 🤷♀️
Even if I was buying this year, I’d want the Snake palette, which is better suited for medium-dark skin tones anyway.
