Honestly, I think that these expiration dates, at least on powder products, are just a ploy to get consumers to throw away their perfectly good products and buy new ones.
A 12 month shelf life for a $90 face palette? Hourglass is trippin’! I’m still using my palette from 2018 and all of my powders work perfectly fine!!! I’m not even half way done with the palette. These powders take so long to use up! ❤M
I agree, if it smells nice, goes on ok, performs as it should, no reactions....I'll keep using it (if it's powder)... creams dry out, don't go on well, smell weird, etc quicker....but still last heaps longer than the expiry dates. 👍👍
so.. I LITERALLY just got my palette and swatched. I am caramel / brown skinned black woman. I ordered the snake palette in the owl container. For reference my perfect skin tone foundation is Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick 9.5 Warm Almond on the perimeter of my face and 8.7 Golden Almond in the center of my face. In Hourglass I'm 13.5. I will say this palette's bronzer is the first and only bronzer that actually shows up on my skin from this brand, although barely. I feel the Victoria Beckham #4 bronzer palette is a much better fit. Also, with the snake palette, I was sort of disappointed because its SO glittery, especially the Sun Beam blush (which is really the main reason I bought this palette). I agree with you, the tones did seem deeper in all the photos online so I was sort of underwhelmed when I opened the palette this morning lol. All in all, for my preference, I think Tiger is still the best option for my skin tone. Glad I snagged it, and I'll probably still use the Snake palette when I'm feeling pinky... just not sure why they didn't keep with something more warm/ bronzy vibes this year.

The devil works hard but i'm convinced the radiant light powder works harder. It completely transformed the look. Suddenly everything on your face meshed together and the emphasized texture from the luminous blush and the dirty look from the bronzer improved! I'm impressed.

I have never gotten an Hourglass palette. I need the lightest but was holding out for one that had finishing powder, blush, bronzer, and highlight. This is my year!! The waiting was worth it!!! Jellyfish powders in Owl compact has been ordered!

I think the palettes are such a good way to try out the formula in terms of value, but the price is still so high that you want it to be something you'll use up... I often think we could design much better palettes lol. Seems so simple to me to put a finishing powder, bronzer, and highlight in each, and then a peachy, coral, and pinky blush! Not innovative but crowd pleasing at least and you've got options. Last year I was tempted by butterfly but the two blushes looked so similar, and I didn't want two highlights and no bronzer in a face palette personally. I appreciate other people would have a different perfect face palette tho. The elephant looked lovely but too dark for me 👻

Agreed. They could have curated a palette 4 in the empty owl packaging for deep skin. I ended up getting palette 3. Hopefully the bronzer works out on my medium-deep skin. Last years bronzers in shade III were darker online than in person and were too light on me. So fingers crossed. All the blushes look phenomenal tho😍

I’m a medium skin tone and SOOO HAPPY I picked up color story 3 (original snake color story) but I chose the jellyfish case! I have most of the other shades in my other HG palettes & The new shades I dont have are too fair for me anyway. Can’t wait!!

Just got my Jellyfish palette today and it's my first time trying hourglass powders and they are definitely stunning. Before my jellyfish palette got here I couldn't help myself and ordered the #2 palette in the owl packaging. Can't wait to get my hands on it now. I'm actually shook and how pigmented they are. A tiny bit goes a long ways. Sadly I'm hooked and just added another luxury brand to my must own all the things list 😂
I always get one of the hourglass pallets every years. I think I will get the jelly fish one because I like that it come with the pinky blushes. Last year I get the butterflies 🦋 one because on the same reason.
As someone with deep skin last years deep palette bronzer worked great and the bronzer in the snake palette is deeper and the radiant light finishing powder is my go to subtle day highlight. I’m so excited for the snake palette!
I’m fair to light and went with the jellyfish this year! I had elephant last year. I was second guessing myself but I’m glad I went with my first choice. Looks gorgeous

Thanks Morgan! I’ve not purchased ANY palettes since last years Hourglass launch where I bought Tiger and Elephant. I’ve used the Tiger palette almost every time I’ve done my makeup for at least one powder since and I still love it 🥰 I’ve just ordered the Owl packaging with the snake insert since I’m terrified of snakes 😂 still considering purchasing one of the other two … then I’m done purchasing another palette again until Hourglass’s launch this time next year… considering it’s any good 😅

Leopard for me 100% it’s all my favourite shades so perfect! I don’t know why they say 12 months after opening I’ve had my diffused heat blush 12 years and it’s still perfect 🤣🤣 I’m working on 2 face palettes that are at least 1-3 years old and they’re perfect. I think the snake palette is gonna HIT!! And I’m actually so excited cause it looks like it’s gonna work perfectly for me! Usually us medium -tan/medium deep/true brown skinned shades get over looked for the extremely deep shades when it comes to palettes like this. And the ambient lighting palette 2 is my favorite of all time
I’m fair but I still bought it cause those blushes are everything! I can use the darker bronzer and highlight as eyeshadow. I changed the packaging to the owl for mine though. Not into snakes, no ma’am haha.

It was really orange on Morgan (and yeah, it’s probably because it’s not for her skin tone, but $90 is hefty to not be sure about that shade). Once I see it in stores/person, I’m running right back to the hourglass website and ordering it in the jellyfish packaging
I think that Hourglass should come out with palettes for light, medium, deep, and dark skintones. It’s so frustrating that they haven’t been doing that all along! I did purchase the snake palette with the owl case though lol.
@@lilianguevara471 I cannot answer definitively because I don’t own ambient 2 and I haven’t received the snake palette yet but if I had to guess I would assume that the snake palette’s would be deeper!

I have ambient II and the bronze is basically the same shade depth as the bronzer in my elephant palette from last year and that bronzer is the same one in the leopard palette this year and from the swatches in the video, the snake bronzer is definitely darker. I just swatched mine for you to really compare 😊 The darker bronzer makes me want the snake to save for next summer
The thing is, they are trying to pass “tan” for deep. The snake palette doesn’t have enough depth to earn the deep tag. Right now I’d say they have a palette for light, medium and tan. They need a fourth, that’s actually deep. But getting there. Maybe next year?
I’m uk based and I used up 5 out of 6 of my “Ghost” palette last year which had the most perfect neutral/red toned bronzer for me..I was gutted I couldn’t get it again but I did manage to get a discounted palette the (3D gold packaging palette) & looking at that & comparing it to the new ones (I did it with the elephant/tiger/butterfly last year as well) none of these are any better than the one I have…jellyfish at a push but not enough to spend the price tag on a new palette…if I’m brutally honest I just want an empty leopard palette & to decant my existing ambient lighting sculpture palette (I think it’s called that) into it but that’s not an option…hey ho, maybe next year! Thank you Morgan, saved me £85 😍🥂
I recently got the jellyfish palette and I’m having so much trouble finding a brush to use bc the pans are so small 😭 the finishing powders are surrounded by colorful shades too 🥲
I would absolutely love to be able to own the snake palette with all those new shades it completely sucks that I’m not working at this time because I haven’t been able to purchase any new makeup and I’m someone that bought makeup like if it was water lol. I never held out and would even buy for the ladies in my family so they could enjoy. But my health got the best of me and I had to stop working. Always the best way to introduce someone to the hourglass products with these holiday sets..you also should try some on the darker shades that did not work on your face on the eyes!..thanks for an amazing review and appreciate you comparing all the shades differences at the end of the video..

Honestly, thankfully the hourglass palettes are powder because as long as you keep them free of moisture, they will be safe to use for a LONG time.(at your own risk of course, but for me in my personal collection I have like 6+ old powder products lmao. I would never use expired makeup on anyone else though) You’ll still be using those 20 years from now! I want to buy one so bad, but last years weren’t it for me. I may actually do it this time! The nude bronze light bronzer is my favorite of all time. Also really like the blushes and love that there are 3 in each! Thanks for the review ❤ I look forward to you talking about these every year! I just wish they would create a better range for deep and dark skintones. A few of my black friends can’t stand hourglass because nothing is ever deep enough for them and they can’t use these products at all. so I wish they would consider making a good option for the beauties who are dark skinned. It bothers me that Hourglass refuses to cater to them, like wouldn’t you want everyone to be able to buy your makeup? It doesn’t make sense to me.
I have the soft ambient foundation, concealer, and the face powder veil.. I love them!!! I picked up the owl palette in the color #2. I have never tried these palettes so this will be my very first purchase.
Jellyfish is looking great. I have Ghost (and it works while it is years old) and a mini of Mood Exposure. I'm pale to fair. Snake is interesting because of the new shades. The skinfinish in it, can be a bronzer for me. The bronzer in it can be a brownish blush....but if is even too bold for you. It is for me a no go.
I have one question - Does hourglass know about ‘peachy’ shades??? I don’t like pink on me 🙈 i think last 3yrs I am waiting for any palette with peachy blush….

I know I am behind. But I own a lot of makeup. Been a collector for years of makeup, did weddings and funerals, and saw hourglass over the years and felt my Laura Geller mimicked the same. But I broke down and purchased the owl with no 2 and leopard with no 3 and looking forward to it. I am medium to tan and felt the number 3 would work best. Thanks for sharing this review.

Deep skinned gentlemen here and I got so excited when the outer shells were shown. Especially the leopard BUT disappointment hit again when it comes to Hourglass. None of these color stories work for me and for kings and queens like myself and even deeper. The blush shades might cool and I emphasize might but the powders is an instant NO. It’s disheartening because it took them ages to come out with the Ambient Vol. 3 but the pics were darker that the actual palette. I keep trying but Morgan I’m getting exhausted. I thank you though for your sweet delivery to your reviews and your effervescence which made me follow and makes me come to you as one of the first reviews I check for. ❤❤

It would have been nice to see matching brushes for each palette. I skipped out on last years palette because the deepest version was too orange toned for my deep tan/olive undertone. I think I’m the only person who hates orange blush lol. I bought the #3 color way in the leopard packaging. They’re all pretty palettes!
I love a good orange blush, but the orange in that palette last year is *not* flattering whatsoever on me. That was literally the reason I purchased that palette- and for the highlighter.. now.. it just sits on the shelf with countless other palettes I don’t use..😬 And I totally agree, they should have made corresponding brushes for each one. Someone else said they saw a jellyfish brush but I looked on their site and haven’t seen anything so maybe they’re thinking of something else
Cool-toned pale person here, I will hate the orange blush with you. The worst is when a brand has options like pink or red, but they all have an orange/peachy undertone.

I’m very curious about it.. i love coral leaning blushes as well. I ordered the jellyfish palette though that day I watched this (when the video posted) because I liked the highlighter and bronzer in it a lot, plus the blushes looked really pretty too.. but I would have killed for a peachy blush in that palette.. or even the jaguar palette. I don’t know if I dare get the snake just because I never use last year’s deep leaning palette at all, even though I totally thought that would have been the best for my skin tone (I have olive skin, light-med to medium).. really I can probably get away with all of them depending on how much or little I apply. But I’m super excited to get my jellyfish! 2 more days!!
I saw in a UK website for 95€. In their website to deliver to UK or Ireland retails for 105 euros. I am like, noooo. I will invest this money in retinol and reverse age the F out of my face because 1 face palette for 100euros is not in my plans... But best wishes to HG in their sales. The owl cover is super amazing, the jellyfish is the most stunning and recognisable from afar
*Love* the jellyfish cover as well:) Though I doubt they’ll make the new shades as singles. They typically don’t. They usually start with a new shade in the singles and then add it to palettes after. It would be great though if they did
i would loveeee a direct comparison between the jellyfish and the sculpture palette that is still available because I want to finally invest in one but i just can't decide! the blushes in the jellyfish palette seem to pinky for me, but on the other hand i feel like i would prefer the finishing powders + bronzer in jellyfish more than the sculpture. help! :)
Im torn between jellyfish and leopard. I know the jellyfish would probably be a better match for fair skintone however i wish it had 3 blushes like the other 2. I rather have the extra blush than the finishing powder. I think in going to wait until they come to Sephora and swatch them in person. I dont own any hourglass palettes so im not worried about repeats.

Powders if properly stored could last years, that’s what companies legally have to label so they aren’t held liable for old makeup.

I’m a medium skin tone and SOOO HAPPY I picked up color story 3 (original snake color story) but I chose the jellyfish case! I have most of the other shades in my other HG palettes & The new shades I dont have are too fair for me anyway. Can’t wait!!

Just got my Jellyfish palette today and it's my first time trying hourglass powders and they are definitely stunning. Before my jellyfish palette got here I couldn't help myself and ordered the #2 palette in the owl packaging. Can't wait to get my hands on it now. I'm actually shook and how pigmented they are. A tiny bit goes a long ways. Sadly I'm hooked and just added another luxury brand to my must own all the things list 😂

I always get one of the hourglass pallets every years. I think I will get the jelly fish one because I like that it come with the pinky blushes. Last year I get the butterflies 🦋 one because on the same reason.
As someone with deep skin last years deep palette bronzer worked great and the bronzer in the snake palette is deeper and the radiant light finishing powder is my go to subtle day highlight. I’m so excited for the snake palette!

@@user-qe5zk4kf8vnot the original commenter but I'm fair to light and dim light shows up on me as a light countour/bronzer shade. I'll mix it with the bronzer in these hourglass palettes and it works nice for my complexion that way.
The Leopard bronzer is the same as the one in last years Elephant pallet 😊

Thanks Morgan! I’ve not purchased ANY palettes since last years Hourglass launch where I bought Tiger and Elephant. I’ve used the Tiger palette almost every time I’ve done my makeup for at least one powder since and I still love it 🥰 I’ve just ordered the Owl packaging with the snake insert since I’m terrified of snakes 😂 still considering purchasing one of the other two … then I’m done purchasing another palette again until Hourglass’s launch this time next year… considering it’s any good 😅

Leopard for me 100% it’s all my favourite shades so perfect! I don’t know why they say 12 months after opening I’ve had my diffused heat blush 12 years and it’s still perfect 🤣🤣 I’m working on 2 face palettes that are at least 1-3 years old and they’re perfect. I think the snake palette is gonna HIT!! And I’m actually so excited cause it looks like it’s gonna work perfectly for me! Usually us medium -tan/medium deep/true brown skinned shades get over looked for the extremely deep shades when it comes to palettes like this. And the ambient lighting palette 2 is my favorite of all time

I’m fair but I still bought it cause those blushes are everything! I can use the darker bronzer and highlight as eyeshadow. I changed the packaging to the owl for mine though. Not into snakes, no ma’am haha.

It was really orange on Morgan (and yeah, it’s probably because it’s not for her skin tone, but $90 is hefty to not be sure about that shade). Once I see it in stores/person, I’m running right back to the hourglass website and ordering it in the jellyfish packaging

I think that Hourglass should come out with palettes for light, medium, deep, and dark skintones. It’s so frustrating that they haven’t been doing that all along! I did purchase the snake palette with the owl case though lol.

@@lilianguevara471 I cannot answer definitively because I don’t own ambient 2 and I haven’t received the snake palette yet but if I had to guess I would assume that the snake palette’s would be deeper!
@@lilianguevara471 - I’m going to say it’s definitely darker. I have ambient II and the bronze is basically the same shade depth as the bronzer in my elephant palette from last year and that bronzer is the same one in the leopard palette this year and from the swatches in the video, the snake bronzer is definitely darker. I just swatched mine for you to really compare 😊 The darker bronzer makes me want the snake to save for next summer
The thing is, they are trying to pass “tan” for deep. The snake palette doesn’t have enough depth to earn the deep tag. Right now I’d say they have a palette for light, medium and tan. They need a fourth, that’s actually deep. But getting there. Maybe next year?

I’m uk based and I used up 5 out of 6 of my “Ghost” palette last year which had the most perfect neutral/red toned bronzer for me..I was gutted I couldn’t get it again but I did manage to get a discounted palette the (3D gold packaging palette) & looking at that & comparing it to the new ones (I did it with the elephant/tiger/butterfly last year as well) none of these are any better than the one I have…jellyfish at a push but not enough to spend the price tag on a new palette…if I’m brutally honest I just want an empty leopard palette & to decant my existing ambient lighting sculpture palette (I think it’s called that) into it but that’s not an option…hey ho, maybe next year! Thank you Morgan, saved me £85 😍🥂

I would absolutely love to be able to own the snake palette with all those new shades it completely sucks that I’m not working at this time because I haven’t been able to purchase any new makeup and I’m someone that bought makeup like if it was water lol. I never held out and would even buy for the ladies in my family so they could enjoy. But my health got the best of me and I had to stop working. Always the best way to introduce someone to the hourglass products with these holiday sets..you also should try some on the darker shades that did not work on your face on the eyes!..thanks for an amazing review and appreciate you comparing all the shades differences at the end of the video..

Honestly, thankfully the hourglass palettes are powder because as long as you keep them free of moisture, they will be safe to use for a LONG time.(at your own risk of course, but for me in my personal collection I have like 6+ old powder products lmao. I would never use expired makeup on anyone else though) You’ll still be using those 20 years from now! I want to buy one so bad, but last years weren’t it for me. I may actually do it this time! The nude bronze light bronzer is my favorite of all time. Also really like the blushes and love that there are 3 in each! Thanks for the review ❤ I look forward to you talking about these every year!
I just wish they would create a better range for deep and dark skintones. A few of my black friends can’t stand hourglass because nothing is ever deep enough for them and they can’t use these products at all. so I wish they would consider making a good option for the beauties who are dark skinned. It bothers me that Hourglass refuses to cater to them, like wouldn’t you want everyone to be able to buy your makeup? It doesn’t make sense to me.
I have the soft ambient foundation, concealer, and the face powder veil.. I love them!!! I picked up the owl palette in the color #2. I have never tried these palettes so this will be my very first purchase.

Jellyfish is looking great. I have Ghost (and it works while it is years old) and a mini of Mood Exposure. I'm pale to fair. Snake is interesting because of the new shades. The skinfinish in it, can be a bronzer for me. The bronzer in it can be a brownish blush....but if is even too bold for you. It is for me a no go.
I have the ghost palette too and it still works perfectly 😊 considering picking up the jellyfish!

I know I am behind. But I own a lot of makeup. Been a collector for years of makeup, did weddings and funerals, and saw hourglass over the years and felt my Laura Geller mimicked the same. But I broke down and purchased the owl with no 2 and leopard with no 3 and looking forward to it. I am medium to tan and felt the number 3 would work best. Thanks for sharing this review.

Deep skinned gentlemen here and I got so excited when the outer shells were shown. Especially the leopard BUT disappointment hit again when it comes to Hourglass. None of these color stories work for me and for kings and queens like myself and even deeper. The blush shades might cool and I emphasize might but the powders is an instant NO. It’s disheartening because it took them ages to come out with the Ambient Vol. 3 but the pics were darker that the actual palette. I keep trying but Morgan I’m getting exhausted. I thank you though for your sweet delivery to your reviews and your effervescence which made me follow and makes me come to you as one of the first reviews I check for. ❤❤

It would have been nice to see matching brushes for each palette. I skipped out on last years palette because the deepest version was too orange toned for my deep tan/olive undertone. I think I’m the only person who hates orange blush lol. I bought the #3 color way in the leopard packaging. They’re all pretty palettes!
I love a good orange blush, but the orange in that palette last year is *not* flattering whatsoever on me. That was literally the reason I purchased that palette- and for the highlighter.. now.. it just sits on the shelf with countless other palettes I don’t use..😬
And I totally agree, they should have made corresponding brushes for each one. Someone else said they saw a jellyfish brush but I looked on their site and haven’t seen anything so maybe they’re thinking of something else

I liked the orange on it looked to powdery in the pan but nice on my skin. I would have liked a brighter color. I love a coral leaning blush.
Cool-toned pale person here, I will hate the orange blush with you. The worst is when a brand has options like pink or red, but they all have an orange/peachy undertone.
@@deebrown8593 did it have a shimmer to it? The orangey shade? Or was it pretty matte? But it did look better on the skin rather than in the pan? I’m very curious about it.. i love coral leaning blushes as well. I ordered the jellyfish palette though that day I watched this (when the video posted) because I liked the highlighter and bronzer in it a lot, plus the blushes looked really pretty too.. but I would have killed for a peachy blush in that palette.. or even the jaguar palette. I don’t know if I dare get the snake just because I never use last year’s deep leaning palette at all, even though I totally thought that would have been the best for my skin tone (I have olive skin, light-med to medium).. really I can probably get away with all of them depending on how much or little I apply. But I’m super excited to get my jellyfish! 2 more days!!
I saw in a UK website for 95€. In their website to deliver to UK or Ireland retails for 105 euros. I am like, noooo. I will invest this money in retinol and reverse age the F out of my face because 1 face palette for 100euros is not in my plans... But best wishes to HG in their sales. The owl cover is super amazing, the jellyfish is the most stunning and recognisable from afar

i would loveeee a direct comparison between the jellyfish and the sculpture palette that is still available because I want to finally invest in one but i just can't decide! the blushes in the jellyfish palette seem to pinky for me, but on the other hand i feel like i would prefer the finishing powders + bronzer in jellyfish more than the sculpture. help! :)

Im torn between jellyfish and leopard. I know the jellyfish would probably be a better match for fair skintone however i wish it had 3 blushes like the other 2. I rather have the extra blush than the finishing powder. I think in going to wait until they come to Sephora and swatch them in person. I dont own any hourglass palettes so im not worried about repeats.
