Very well done Marianne. Tbh this was one of the most enjoyable of all your videos! I was at the same time loving the chaos, breathless, squeamish, heart in mouth, waiting to hear a bump, & loving it & wanting to join in the chaotic fun, but not in my own vehicle!! I drive for a living & having been to India 3 times (we absolutely love India) to various cities, part of me wants to join in the fun & drive but only in someone else's vehicle & certainly never in our own motorcaravan. It doesn't get any better outside of the cities, particularly at night where so many have no lights on & there are no street lights either. We've actually been in a minor head on collision in a taxi in Mumbai, a collision I could see was going to happen, almost like it was happening in slow motion, a collision I would have easily avoided had I been driving, but our taxi driver just carried on & drove straight into it. Nobody hurt, a few minutes shouting & we were on our way. Driving in India is just mad! So well done Marianne.
Omg I had to pause it several times due to anxiety. Maryann, you are a rock star. No Hindu God, or goddess has anything on you. Chris, I hope you pamper, and spoil her everyday after that chaos.
Awwh thanks All for your support xx We do make a great team for sure and yes he is a great husband and friend to me - 95 days in the car park is proof of that LOL - big love M xx
Ive really been struggling with my mental health lately and feeling very overwhelmed so having watched all of Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Thailand, I am now doing your Baja trip. It keeps me focussed on something positive. You guys are so lovely to hang out with. Thank you.
A quiet Wednesday evening in WA. I started watching your video and have been on the edge of my armchair! !!. Oh my gosh, what a 'nightmare, driving through Kolkata. Well done. Tootling up the motorways on your return to the UK will be so tame. Stay safe.
Wow! I was sitting in my living room on the edge of my seat, holding my breath and wincing. You are one sassy lady with nerves of steel!! Well done. You deserve a very big badge for this one.
I loved this video. Better than a movie! Driving through this insane traffic and following an other car that wasn't always driving slowly is very very good. Well done Marianne. I admired the fact that you both stayed so calm, even when your mirrors were hit! Respect for both of you.
Yes, I was shocked by the pedestrians walking in and around the moving cars, without any hesitation!! Utter chaos!! I'm considered a good driver but I would never attempt this!! Well done Marianne!!
Oh thank heavens you made it to the hotel! This episode has my anxiety through the roof. I was literally on the edge of my seat that entire drive. You are an absolute rockstar MARIANNE and Chris you're an amazing calm partner and navigator. Amazing team work❤❤❤
I don't think I could handle it there. I would need to find calm establishments to go into every so often to escape the madness as a pedestrian...and forget driving. I would not be down with that and I have driven in/around Boston for decades. F-that scene. Fun to watch tho. Pausing that too because it's a lot all at once. Well done Marianne!
I loved watching this first India drive of yours! The run of emotions . . . the figuring it out on the fly . . . accepting the "kisses" Trudy is getting, while still protecting her . . .Great driving, great teamwork!
In How many other countries could you make a long video that was just about driving through a city and it was completely absorbing. Judging by number of comments it’s going to be hugely popular.
Massive respect. I've been driving for 56 years, currently living and driving in Istanbul, previously Tunisia (especially Tunis). But even with that experience, I would be constantly in the edge if I were in Marianne's seat driving across Calcutta.
We were lucky enough to be in Turkiye when Covid hit and so we were able to spend 18 months living and driving there - 160 videos later - I feel like the Turkish school of driving helped me !! LOL - Marianne 😉🚐🌷
Watching Marianne drive in india seems like she has a badge from demolition derby ...dammmn .. i drive in mumbai .. but ..watching u drive ..i felt i need more training.. anyways ... Loved the way u handled the road .. wishing u both the best for the journey...
Marianne I believe had a calling to be a rally driver but chose instead to travel the world. Rammiz did a great job, but Marianne keeping behind him in that traffic was brilliant to watch. I think the key to driving in India is positive on the front foot driving which is sort of the opposite of driving in GB where cautious is the way to go even when there is little to be cautious about .
The drive was a great nail biting watch, but my favorite thing was the white truck parked on the left as you had stopped in traffic, I thought I was watching a magic act a small van with a ridiculous amount of people coming out of it, God it was packed beyond belief and some of the people coming out had big white full to the top plastic bags too it felt like I was watching a world record in progress .
Imagine that male voice that does the voice over for all the movie trailers (at least here in the U.S.) -- "Gaze upon the city of Kolkata. It is a Friday night before a holy festival. Watch as she just drives 🚐the crowded streets. As she horns and goes around the indecisive drivers. As she swerves through lanes of traffic with incredible coolness on a hot night. For her life depends on it. She is known around the globe 🌍 as THE PROFESSIONAL!" 😂🤣😂🤣 Love you both. 💕 Safe travels.
Awesome video as always Chris and Marianne. This was a crazy night time drive with a whole lot of crazy traffic but Marianne is one cool driver even under pressure and Chris is one epic navigator even in the most crazy traffic. Chris could someone have broke y’all’s Sun roof hatch trying to get into Trudy? Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s journey around the world.
Brought back so many memories of my trip in India. You can’t describe how crazy the traffic is unless you are in the thick of it. Great driving, I would be crying.
You have really pulled it out of the bag ,fantastic driving and well done for not losing the plot because i would have, great improvisation on the repair also. Cannot wait for sundays mission🙏🙏☝
I have nothing but admiration for you, Maryann. And your navigator. I hope this is not the kind of driving you'll have to do all across India. That chaos *has* to let up sometimes. Kudos again.
I must admit that your Uber drive to the hotel from the airport, my wife and I wouldn’t have got out. We would tell the driver, back to the airport please. You guys are amazing, patient and very respectful of different cultures.
Marianne I'm pleased to tell you that you've passed your advanced level 44737273 driving test. What a legend! I think the rules are you forget mirrors, lanes, traffic lights and only look 3m ahead. Oh, and horning!
Marianne driving Trudy the manual thru Kolkata. Absolute legend !!!!! It’s another world there and you both are champions , im so glad I found you , you’re doing what I can only dream of . All the best for your Indian adventures
What a breathtaking insight into driving in Kolkata (India as a whole?). Your driving, Marianne, is definitely next level! Have thoroughly enjoyed following your travels for probably a year already - looking forward to your next vlogs! All the very best as you negotiate the crazy traffic! xx
Amazing driving Marianne. So well done for how brave you are doing that! And well done to Chris for surviving sitting there with no control too! You are both so amazing! Good luck with rest of your travels🙏🏼😳🥰xx
I was absolutely gripped by your journey through the night time streets of Kolkata. It really gave you a flavour of life in that city. I can only imagine how stressful it must have been.
The dash cam facing and filming the two of you as you drove through that madness was a good idea. It helped to assure that you were indeed okay and gave some relief from that madness. I would appreciate more footage from that perspective.
THAT, was your best episode yet! Amazing. India is a fascinating place. Coming from a country myself with strict driving rules, this is insanity, but it somehow works. I Started following you both when you were in Canada. Shame you couldn’t get to Australia.
Wow, what a drive! Hats off to Marianne like driving dodgems at the fair! Just so surprising that there is no "road rage" looking forward to the next vlog stay safe you both!
You got this! With Marianne’s driving skills and with both of you laughing when it gets crazy, you can definitely do this! India either gets you mad or sets you free… and getting with the flow with a laughter takes you closer to the latter.
😂 It what we've always said LOL!!! I just googled it and it seems it is a real word - horning (countable and uncountable, plural hornings) The activity of blowing the horn.
Marianne here - TBF Chris is famous for making up words LOL - Blunch - instead of Brunch and also for mis pronouncing words Jalapeños and Glacier ... but that is just one more reason he makes me laugh !! 😂💃🇬🇧🌷
I loved Marianne's comment 'Just look at those Pot-Holes' you ain't seen nothing yet - You wait to you get back to UK then you will know what a pot-hole is like. Great (unexpected) video.
Kudos to you Marianne! All your world driving has prepared you for India! I learned to drive in Jakarta, which has stood me in good stead for crazy driving! Travel safe! 🥰

I told you don't drive in the dark 🫣 in India and the first thing you do is drive in the dark. 😅😅 but anyway you learned the ropes😅. Kudos to you Marianne. Your the best.
OMG I didn't watch Dashcam Oz because last one was stressful and driving in India tops it - that was one hell of a ride and trying to keep up with the guy showing you ... Marianne deserves a large drink after that! Don't have any desire to go there and hit the roads.
Girl….you are amazing…can’t stop watching you! Such confidence bravery and a wonderful attitude ..you’re both terrific,…maybe a little mad! Love from Texas.

check your brakes and this will test your realtionship
that british stiff upper lip will soon disappear after a few driving miles in india
why analyze the traffic rules BECAUSE there are none!!!!
fun fact: one person dies every hour on indian roads
I would love to come only I live in Bulgaria ( I am british. Moved here 15 years ago) . I hope you have a great time 😊
Crazy driving but Marianne deserves a medal for dealing with the crazy traffic so well
1000% yes!
I agree
I was informed by a taxi driver that to pass the driving test all you have to do is drive 100 mts and not hit anything.....sounds about right .😂
Very well done Marianne. Tbh this was one of the most enjoyable of all your videos! Might be an idea to invest in a set of air horns...😂😂
Omg I had to pause it several times due to anxiety. Maryann, you are a rock star. No Hindu God, or goddess has anything on you. Chris, I hope you pamper, and spoil her everyday after that chaos.
Me too...
Right! Me as well!
@s._3560 she likes driving, he films. It works for them.
@@s._3560 Because she's an experienced talented driver of course, and someone needs to be the film maker.
Thank you.
AND I have never heard Horn used as a verb, horning. We say beeping. Good luck Maryann you're an inspiration.
A quiet Wednesday evening in WA. I started watching your video and have been on the edge of my armchair! !!. Oh my gosh, what a 'nightmare, driving through Kolkata. Well done. Tootling up the motorways on your return to the UK will be so tame. Stay safe.
Horn : verb is honking; adjective is horny.😅
That is great to hear you are enjoying the videos - what an adventure life is turning out to be !! Woo Hoo 💃😂🚐🇬🇧🌷
Wow! I was sitting in my living room on the edge of my seat, holding my breath and wincing. You are one sassy lady with nerves of steel!! Well done. You deserve a very big badge for this one.
I first learned to drive as a 13 year old in Calcutta, but cannot imagine driving there today. Well done, guys!
Oh wow! Thank you 🌷
This is normal traffic in India. Millions of people are doing this daily😅
Omg marianne should be awarded the best woman driver ever she has nerves of steel

I keep trying to watch this and having to stop when my anxiety goes off the rails. Good lord, you deserve a medal.
I have driven all over Italy and Thailand, even in my most maddest moments I never would have dreamed of driving in India, cheers hero.
I love how the two of you work together and just deal with whatever needs to deal with. Stay safe and happy!
I loved this video. Better than a movie! Driving through this insane traffic and following an other car that wasn't always driving slowly is very very good. Well done Marianne. I admired the fact that you both stayed so calm, even when your mirrors were hit! Respect for both of you.
Marianne, you are amazing! Congratulations on driving that mad route. The scariest parts are the pedestrians and cyclists! and lack of lights.
Yes, I was shocked by the pedestrians walking in and around the moving cars, without any hesitation!! Utter chaos!! I'm considered a good driver but I would never attempt this!! Well done Marianne!!
Awwh thank you !! It was a mad time and I needed a dark room for a few hours after LOL 😉😂🌺
What a cliff hanger! I chocked on my morning cup of tea watching you cross Kolkata by night!😮😱😬😁Marianne is a champion driver!🤩
Hahaha LOL 😂
Marianne you are amazing and brave to drive in difficult situation’s .. well done you
Oh thank heavens you made it to the hotel! This episode has my anxiety through the roof. I was literally on the edge of my seat that entire drive. You are an absolute rockstar MARIANNE and Chris you're an amazing calm partner and navigator. Amazing team work❤❤❤

Most craziest, heart stopping car chased scenes in Hollywood Movies History..... What a drive and of cause the driver👍👍👍
Marianne, you are a machine!! I would have no balls whatsoever going through the Indian traffic. Hats off to you!!
I loved watching this first India drive of yours! The run of emotions . . . the figuring it out on the fly . . . accepting the "kisses" Trudy is getting, while still protecting her . . .Great driving, great teamwork!
This was more terrifying than "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride."! A gold star and a proper badge for Marianne. I would have suffered a heart attack.
In How many other countries could you make a long video that was just about driving through a city and it was completely absorbing.

It’s stressful to watch, much less be there. What a treat a Wednesday video. Enjoy and rest often. Praying for travel mercies for you and Trudy.
Marianne has nerves of steel. Wow! So impressive!
OMG, you are one brave lady , that traffic is mental
Noticed chris wasn't too keen on the traffic. Marriane taking it in her stride with just flip my wing mirror back out 😂😂
13:06 I think I saw somebody I think I knew somebody last year “HORNN!!” 😂😂😂
Love you lady within minutes you were out there driving like you were a local!!! You definitely should get a Badge

My 4 yr old grandaughter said "Marriane looks kind & I like the laughy man as well!" X
What a job of driving that was! You are a star. Good luck getting out of town.

That was great I laughed almost the entire video 😂😂 Very well done Marianne, you’re an absolute legend! 🎉🎉
Well done. It's exhausting just watching you.
After 3 or 4 years I realised today.., Trudy is manual, that in it self gets Marianne huge points 😅 you bloody legend.❤
That’s real driving, not just steering.! Skill required.
I only just realized that in this video as well
Too me you're an American without tellitelling you're an American lol majority of us in Europe drives manual

Bravo Marianne! What a team you two are, cheers to both of you.👏👏
I was expecting a few choice expletives. Well done both of you.
I must admit that your Uber drive to the hotel from the airport, my wife and I wouldn’t have got out. We would tell the driver, back to the airport please. You guys are amazing, patient and very respectful of different cultures.

Marianne you deserve several medals for keeping your cool in that crazy traffic. What an experience though, and one I’m sure you’ll never forget.

The dash cam facing and filming the two of you as you drove through that madness was a good idea. It helped to assure that you were indeed okay and gave some relief from that madness. I would appreciate more footage from that perspective.
Gold Star for Marianne’s Driving ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you - it was a bit mad LOL !
You have nerves of steel driving through that chaos!
I was told by my driver in Delhi that they turn their lights off when its well lit to save power.... Well done on the drive too... Gold Medal!!
THAT, was your best episode yet! Amazing. India is a fascinating place. Coming from a country myself with strict driving rules, this is insanity, but it somehow works. I Started following you both when you were in Canada. Shame you couldn’t get to Australia.
You should be able to get the same waterproof canvas they use on the tuk tuks. That would be easier to fix and fasten by covering the whole skylight?
what a legendary team you are!!! Marianne driving like boss, Chris navigator extraordinaire, AMAZING!! Looking forward to the Indian adventures xx
Thanks Sally !!
This bonus episode is nothing short of INSANE! You guys should make this your featured video!
British guy here. I've literally never heard anyone in the UK use the term "horning" for someone beeping their horn lol
😂 It what we've always said LOL!!! I just googled it and it seems it is a real word - horning (countable and uncountable, plural hornings) The activity of blowing the horn.
Same here - BEEPING, not horning - drives me mad 🤣
Marianne here - TBF Chris is famous for making up words LOL - Blunch - instead of Brunch and also for mis pronouncing words Jalapeños and Glacier ... but that is just one more reason he makes me laugh !! 😂💃🇬🇧🌷
Oh my goodness! I was on the edge of my seat. Well done I'm very impressed.
Insane Driving!!! Yikes... mega medals Maryanne 🎉
MaryAnn, you are simply amazing. I nearly had an anxiety attack just watching and you were actually driving.
You deserve a medal Marianne. That had me very jumpy. Good job. Glad you arrived at your hotel safely. I need a glass of wine after all that 😂😊
I loved Marianne's comment 'Just look at those Pot-Holes' you ain't seen nothing yet - You wait to you get back to UK then you will know what a pot-hole is like. Great (unexpected) video.
Love how you work so well together in all you do, driving/navigating and fixing the roof, Great Teamwork!!
