Its alright to be frustrated epf! We all get upset when we miss out on nice one! Yesterday was terrible for me , broke off several times and just couldn't hook up on em ! The fish beat me yesterday for sure! It was real windy but still no excuses! All part of the game! If you don't get upset then you aren't a passionate fisherman!

Oh wow, a covered bridge over the creek ! What a beautiful place to fish. The " South " may have the warm weather ( Florida ) but the North has such great waters . Rivers and creeks with rock bottoms . Here they are rare . I'm from WV , & So. MD. fished the mtns .and loved it. Now I live in FL. Better weather for old floks. Ha-ha. It's too bad you missed that fish, but that's part of using light line. When you land a nice fish it's even more exciting, but there wasn't much you could do there. If you tried to muscle it you would have been broken off anyway. And props to that guy for being polite. He both wanted to talk to you, but also be respectful. He basically acted the way almost anyone here would act haha.
Might have to upgrade to 6lb line. I use it for panfish all the time as insurance for Bass bites.
The spillway behind the larger Lake which you are very close to, if you haven't already fish there you should definitely give it a try my man. Me and my son Jeremy caught a crazy hybrid tiger muskie in that spillway. Plus we have caught some fish down there on flies that I have no idea on the planet what the hell they are! Up your alley bro!👍
I had a recent struggle fishing at my local creek. Theres only supposed to be small fish in my creek. But after it rained and caused flooding. Bigger fish decided to swim up the creek. I only had my ultra light and using 4lb line. Then a decent freshwater drum shows up. The battle was intense on ultra light tackle and only part of it. But now I have no way of getting down to the water to land the fish. On top of that I ran out of daylight. However I didn't give up and found my will to land the fish. I got so lucky.
You will get that 3lber in the spillway yet, he can't resist the wrath of the Asian folk. Good work as always, love how your fish totals are like 1833, mine are at 153 for the year thus far lol.

Nice guy, but I know that's gotta be a minor annoyance at the least lol... and you always catch your biggest on the ultralight rig. That's why it's great.

Big Bass on ultralight gear is a recipe for fun we use here in WNY often, that fish will show up again with 5 or 6 lures stuck in it and a senko somewhere, getting broke off is a bitter fact of the game bruv, knowing it can happen for the sake of finesse is part of the rush. Great stuff legend.

I was fishing with my friend Wednesday night and she had her little trout rod with 6 lb test trying to catch some sunnies for bait. Managed to land a 20in channel cat with that little rod and reel.

I love spillways we caught over 200 fish all together 8 species. My buddy used a trout magnet had a 4lb bass break him off. Small lures catch great things
