I'm 55 years old, and have been riding since the age of 5. Growing up, my son was around bikes his entire life. For him, it all started with my 1975 Kawasali Z1b cafe bike. He's had a couple of bikes so far, but we recently finished a father/son project. A 1979 Kawasaki 750 cafe. These kind of projects are a great bonding situation for dads and their sons!!! Yours turned out awesome!!! I hope this bond will continue for life, like my son and I!!! After watching this video, I'm going to find a good used 500 Ninja, and do the same thing with my daughter. Good job with little sis' helping out too!!!
The 250/500 ninjas are a rock solid platform with dated styling. What a great project. I love that he did so much of it himself. That is a seriously cool kid and a great dad for putting him on the path. Teaching him he can do anything and do it himself. Kudos to you both and enjoy that ride!

You mean *only*. Let's be honest it's not a cafe racer bike and will need more work than that to be a cafe racer. Lowering the front suspension,headlamp,speedo. Changing the gas tank
vERY NICE TRANSFORMATION, Personally i would have fitted either clip ons or ace bars and fork gaters but the gaters were only because of the British weather, and i never polish my bike seat, you end up sliding all over the place on them! Very nice result though cheers
It reminds me that my father hasn’t called me for years. Not even in new year day or birthday. If I have a son I’d love to spend some quality time with him by working together on a project like this. I do have a daughter now and she is only 3, and I’d be so happy if she is into stuff like this cuz I’d love to do this together with her.

I get cafe on 70s 80 hondas but that ninja would be better being made to look like ZX6 from late 90s early 2000s with sporty tail from like 2002-2005 ZX6. Little more space between tire and tail. maybe a QRT fairing from from more modern bike. front forks from a bigger later sport bike.

nice build for the "father and son" stuff, but... the "shake and bake" cafe racer "kits" are not good enough. for me. the "seat structure" is only "screwed" (literally) and not soldered, not finished really. and the end rear is only cosmetic, so, for me is a bad cafe. sorry, but i know that they can do better. abyway greetings and keep building nice things as a father and son.
