The fans were the ones that set the expectations too high. The draft was exactly what I thought it would be. It hasn’t changed since 2016. Plus the only “questionable” moves was Cody going to Raw and Bianca to Sd but other than that there was nothing wrong with it. Plus it’s not even over yet😂

@@M._mkid Mind you I'm not very caught up on the info regarding this draft, or much of the 2011 draft either, but from what I understand, the whole thing with the 2011 draft was that it was "randomized" (in kayfabe) ? (Genuine question because I'm not actually sure, that's just what I got from the few clips I've seen) and from what I understand this draft isn't meant to be like that, so I feel like that wouldn't really work here as it would make very little sense? I guess it didn't make super much sense 2011 either tbf but yeah

Competing GMs/authority figures are really needed. Having 1 person in charge of booking both shows has really been terrible. We need the brand rivalry back where each show competes for ratings and runtime. Like they did with the Stephanie with Mick Foley vs Shane with Daniel Bryan era which I think was some of the most entertaining times for me personally. A true Battle of the Brands.

To me the first and second drafts will always be the best. Vince and Flair thrown barbs at each other while and the same with Bischoff and Heyman in 2004 simulating the WCW ECW feud withing WWE.
The biggest highlight of the 2023 draft was RVD being high
But i would say imperium to RAW was definitely a great pick.
Ok. I hate to sound rude, but I'm starting to get sick of seeing everything be labeled as "disappointing". Like, it doesn't feel like anyone is content with anything anymore. I don't see why we can't just see things for what they are and just be able to enjoy it a bit more. And it feels like nothing is satisfying to anyone. We're always finding random stuff to complain about, and it's getting annoying... 😕
no one was complaining the last six months. The problem is literally nothing makes sense right now. You had the opportunity after WM to set the tone on a new dawn so to speak. New stories, new rivalries. But with Roman retaining, everything has been stagnant. There’s no forward progression other then an announcement of a another world title that screams participation trophy

AJ looks really cool with the Good Brothers, but it kinda weighs him down because they are never really presented strongly
They're just boring. Don't know what anyone sees in them. There's no substance to them and they aren't even very impressive in the ring. Styles should go solo and have another run like he did in 2016-2019

i really liked it but nothing will top the 2016 draft. it really felt different with the general managers and commissioners. it was really cool.
People hated it back then because it wasn’t as good as the draft from 2002. It’s the same shit, different era with these types of comments blinded by nostalgia.

They should do the draft like how most other sports shows do with a 3hr long show of just draft after draft. No unnecessary matches, just 2 Managers picking every superstar they like and want for their brand.

Imperium to RAW is a great pick (Austin Theory might go the other way round), Roman Reigns to SmackDown, great pick. But I have a feeling they’re gonna pull the Cena move on Rhodes come Monday. So far it’s not dissapointing, just kinda surprising; hopefully we won’t have to see another belt switching segment like we saw between Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch or between the Street Profits and the New Day back then. If I’m not mistaken, the former segment was one of the factors that ended Flair & Lynch’s friendship.
However something that really disappointed me was Hit Row staying on the main roster. I have a feeling there’s someone who said “keep Hit Row on the main roster and move Damage CTRL to SmackDown. Michael Cole getting made fun of by Top Dolla and Bayley is good entertainment hahaha”. IMHO, Hit Row needs to go back to NXT for some massive in-ring performance development. They clearly need more training in that department, and some character development would do them wonders (still keep the rap gimmick though); they’ve been really stale without Swerve Strickland FKA Isaiah “Swerve” Scott. Dolla, Adonis and B-Fab have good mic skills, but sorry to say, their in-ring wrestling skills are still not up to par, plus they’re currently not heading anywhere storyline wise. Look what happened to Dijak FKA T-Bar on the main roster, ever since coming back to NXT, he’s had massive character development and had great programmes recently, probably better than his Dominik Dijakovic character.
To conclude, aside from Apollo Crews, JD McDonagh, Zoey Stark, Indi Hartwell, and Alba Fyre & Isla Dawn, here are my predictions of the other NXT stars getting called up: Bron Breakker, Wendy Choo, Grayson Waller, Roxanne Perez, Cameron Grimes, Pretty Deadly and Diamond Mine.
But Hit Row to Smackdown was the worst
@@crashpal their first time getting drafted to SmackDown and debuting on SmackDown just after B-Fab got released was already bad. The remaining three back then had a segment with Sami Zayn, after that, they’re gone. Then they came back without Swerve, only a few segments here and there, and clearly we can see their in-ring skills are still not up to par, plus they currently have no feud program. At least Maximum Male Models and Alpha Academy have a story going on with Otis or Otise, whatever happens to him next, we’ll see.

We needed brand new rosters, new logos and new sets, the same as 2016. I agree this was lack luster

The fans set there expectations too high I thought the draft was fine cause I didn’t expect anything too crazy
okay so here's some explanation:
1. Draft qualifying matches and random picks are goofy and stupid. You trying to tell me SmackDown's IC Champ may beat RAW's US Champ just to draft some silly diva like Kelly Kelly?
2. Free Agents mean they weren't wanted by neither brand and are most likely a way to make storylines or send them to NXT.
3. Omos is a Free Agent because MVP had some kayfabe meetings with Fox's and USA's Network bosses.
4. the picks are made by FOX and USA Network, as it was established in the 2019 Draft
Well I mean sometimes people don’t get drafted and become free agents and if they perform good enough when maybe a brand would pick them up after the draft. It happens in all of sports it called being an undrafted free agent

I’m so tired of the toxic wrestling community stating that the world heavyweight championship will be 2nd to Roman’s titles ..okay who cares there’s always been a second top guy & secondary championship since the ruthless aggression era so what’s the big deal ?
its the fans hyping up the previous eras so much like everything that happened was amazing. obviously today's wwe has nothing on the attitude and ruthless aggression eras, im not saying that but i think people like to hype up old wwe more bcoz of thier nostalgia and act like every booking decision was perfect.

The problem with the Bloodline story now is that there really isn't that much story left to tell but they're gonna stretch it out over the next year till 'Mania anyway.

I liked the draft. Since Smackdown is the only one I can watch, I was happy to see Edge and the OC and Roman go on smackdown together. And what I would love is if Rollins came over to Smackdown as well.
I'm actually glad The Mix stayed on Raw because Miz TV would feel like a huge waste of time on a 2-hour show.
I get the point about having the matches determine who gets the pick however I fully understand why they no longer do it. For one it just seems very unprofessional especially when you consider it doesn't work like that for any other drafts in any other sports. That method also limited how many picks each show had to the point where the post draft shows almost didn't really feel any different at all
This is entertainment, not even pro wrestling. They could do whatever the fuck they wanted. But nope they just do the same shit over n over again. You lot actually believed Cody was gunna win the big WWE title off THE BIG WWE SUPERSTAR. If dusty never won it. I wouldn't be surprised if he wins it but in like 20 years

Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn have once again become the two that beat the ones. With Cody Rhodes going to Raw and Roman Reigns going to SmackDown, I guess you can say the story will definitely go to the next chapter.

This completely sucked lol, no actual authority figures, wrestlers only eligible for certain days. And the order of who’s drafted could mean less. WWE has gone so far downhill after mania It’s an actual joke
A storyline where Vince comes faces the crowd and tells that triple h is relieved of his duties and Shane McMahon takes his place but then a stipulation for survivor series triple h creates his own team Shane creates his own team for war games if triple h wins he gets raw and shame gets smackdown this way we can get good ratings invading opposing shows and get a vibe of the 2016 draft vibe
If I'm being honest with you, I wish WWE would just make up their minds with all this brand split stuff. I personally think that they should just stick with one World champion, one Women's champion, and one tag team champions. I mean it was good when they first did it back in 2002 to 2007 but now I think it's just getting completely old.
I wish that people on Smackdown would stay on Smackdown and the people that's on Raw would stay on Raw because all this cross brand stuff would defeat the whole purpose of having a draft in the first place.
But that's just me.

it gets annoying when fellow wrestling fans get annoyed at everything wwe does and labels it mediocre. you can't expect everything to be a game changer, i remember when theory had that failed cash in everyone was saying he was buried, and then the next week they were fine with it. people have to remember, the main problem with wwe rn is their booking of the titles. roman, gunther, and theory have all held onto the belt for too long because they are trying to make everyone look like a "dominant champ." sami, drew, cody couldve all ended his reign in just the last 7/8 months. either one of edge or daniel bryan couldve ended it at wm 37. ko couldve ended it at the 2021 rumble. seth couldve ended it at the 22 rumble. but wwe in an attempt to make roman look dominant has ruined his credibility even more bcoz he needs his cousins to come and interfere for him to retain. and it would be fine if it was for one title. since gunther won the ic belt, smackdown has just been the bloodline, the judgment day, imperium and sami+ko while everyone else is their to job. thats the main problem. back in the days of the attitude era, would hold it for around 50 days, with maybe the occasional 100+ day reign, which is how they built up so many superstars.
If Edge retiring soon again.. He should be on RAW. Because if roman on smackdown. World title on raw. Nothing better than having edge winning the big gold again. Especially since that was the last title he had before neck injury retirement. Having edge on smackdown. Sucks for him if roman there. So unless they planning to dropping romans title on Edge. Edge will not have a good retirement without winning goal. That's what he came for.
When Teddy Long came out he should have drafted the Undertaker then everyone would be in shock and than he would say ‘ oh wrong name ‘ then he would say the actual superstar

Authority figures. GMs. That’s what they need for both shows, especially for the brand split to work. And they need to stick to the split, no letting wrestlers jump around for no reason. The only reason for someone from one brand to be on another would be winning Money in the Bank, or the Royal Rumble; otherwise, no cross overs. Free agents who can go anywhere seems like a bad, lazy idea. I still really think they dropped the ball with having Cody lose at Wrestlemania.
I agree with Aj. He's just too good to be on a team. The O.C and Aj should help each other though traveling alone. Aj needs to go after the title again. The guy is quite possibly the best new-time wrestler and best in ring performer with Daniel and Micheal's.. He's not going to last much longer in the ring
My best options are Seth vs Roman at wm40 Cody wins money in the bank and cashes in at wm40 right before the bell rings his entrance music should play and he pins Seth to win the title but pins Seth
Second option, Cody beats Roman at summer slam and Roman wins royal rumble to come back at WM40 to face Seth for world championship
The way triple h said when he introduced the new championship i already knew they are thinking to give this title to cody

i think in kayfabe USA network picks the draft picks for Raw and Fox picks the draft picks for SmackDown
Every draft is boring af. We all know the headliners will be split 50-50, and the mid-carders 60-40 for Raw since they have an extra hour. Total waste of time, who cares if your favorite is on Raw or Smackdown.

I disagree. I can't speak for WWE last several years. I didn't watch that trash. But I was perfectly happy with the draft. Legends doing it was great. I was scared with Triple H doing the first section. Thinking it would be just him saying where everyone goes. Legends was a nice touch. My only issue was all factions and teams could be picked together. Because I like the stories from draft splitting but......I think it's going to be interesting to see exactly how Damage Control breaks up and how Montez goes singles. I hope Montez stays face and just keeps Angelo as a friend. Or make Angelo the heel. He is the one that needs a repackage anyways. And also disagree with Miz. I feel all his best stuff was on Smackdown but again, didn't watch most of the time. Especially after 2016

Of course there is no need for fake crowd noise in Corpus Christi. That's my hometown and when wrestling comes around we show up and we're passionate. Corpus isn't a huge city so getting a Raw or Smackdown is always a huge deal.
