I was born in Maine and I have lived here my whole life. I have traveled all over the country and out side as well and I can't ever imagine living somewhere else. Portland is a great small city with Big city vibes with professional minor league sports Red Sox and baseball, Celtics and basketball, and Bruins and hockey. It is also known for its food and microbrew scene as well as outdoor activity. Having said that to come to Maine and not experience Acadia National Park and Down East and the crown of Maine Arroostook County and the western mountains and lakes like Moosehead Lake in Greenville is criminal. This is a huge state. People don't realize that driving from Kittery in the south to Ft. Kent in the north takes about 7 hours if it all goes well. The rest of the New England States (5) roughly fit inside Maine. Most of our state is forests lakes and mountains and vast fields where very few if any live. It is a wilderness paradise.
Love maine go there every yr for salmon fishing on grand lake stream. It's a plus when I can catch a lake trout. Last yr it was 23 inches long. My buddies was 29. That had to go back due to the fishing guidelines.
Fort Williams is where my husband first told me he loved me! 💕 We visit this park often as it’s one of our favorite places and lighthouses even though we live on the Cape in Massachusetts! Just found your channel and have been binge watching it!! You guys are great!! 🥰
Enjoyed watching your visit through Portland Maine....we live 20 minutes south and visit often. Yes, Sea Bags is really cool BUT expensive. We have never bought anything there either LOL. We love The Holy Donut (you missed out on Chocolate Sea Salt flavor!!!), and the look on your face after taking a bite of the lobster roll.....many of us can relate. That one looked really good!
My favorite travel couple without a question 🥰 I adore how serene and happy they are together; it's like I'm travelling the world with them. I appreciate it, Matt and Nat, and I'm sending you a lot of love from my side and love from india as well. but i'm jealous also cuz those donuts were looking sooooo delicious 🤩
Awww 😭🥰 I hate we are reading this so late but we are trying to catch up! So forgive us! 🙈 but we can’t thank you enough for being on this adventure with us!! We love having you on the journey! We can’t thank you enough! 💗🥰 Hope you have an amazing New Years! 🎊
Hi there! I grew up in South Portland Maine and moved to Boston Massachusetts when I turned 21. I eventually moved to the deep south. Your video makes me home sick. Maybe some day I might return to my home state, Maine!
Yum! Potato donuts sound amazing! My Norwegian family has a tradition of making lefse which is a potato-based pastry so potatoes in donuts sounds amazing to me!
Great video guys!!!!! We went there back in August….video still not done haha…..but it’s a beautiful area and you guys showed what an awesome city Portland is. Our favorite lobsta roll was from High Roller. You guys rock, crazy how you had 600 subs at filming and 19,000 after editing. So happy for y’all and love your videos.
I grew up in ct near Litchfield hills and my mom always said she loved going leaf peeping on a fall weekend Leaf peeping and antique shopping are great in northwest hills of ct
Oh wow that Lobster!! I love a whole lobster but there is just something about a lobster roll that’s just so carby and buttery and perfect (can you tell we are basically drooling over your food?!) 🤤🦞 y’all have put Maine at the top of our list for this summer!
You should try the BiteintoMaine food truck at Fort Williams where the Lighthouse is. It's expensive but delicious and they have some interesting variations like curry and chipotle lobster rolls.
Oh my gosh it looks like you guys had amazing weather for fall in Maine, jealous!!! Natalie climbing the rocks in a dress and boots was everything! I gotta step up my fashion game - the pandemic made me a function gal (but my soul is still a fashion gal!)
This is so late replying 🙈 Im trying to catch up! Girl I look homeless when I’m home. Haha so I only have 2 looks. Homeless or dress up! 🤣 no in between! Haha 😂 hope y’all have an amazing New Years tho! 🥰🎉
I can’t get over how beautiful that lighthouse on the coast was, and I know that means it was about 10x better in person!! 💕 The food all looked amazing, and so did that boat ride!! 🦭💕 Awesome video, as always!!
Aww… Thanks!! Not many people probably feel that way! Haha… We can a LOT into our short trips! Lol… That would be AMAZING!! Not exactly sure what the next big travel goal is, but we’ve got some fun trips/videos already queued up after the 50 states content is all finished!😊😊
The gull hitching a ride on the boat really made me laugh. I would be sooo out of luck, I am terribly allergice to shrimp and lobster but it looks so delicious watching someone else eating it. It is so fun watching you guys have such a good time. Brings a little sunshine into our day.
Hahaha right?! It was on there the whole time!! 🎉🤣 just a free joyride! Haha awww hate you are allergic! Sorry about that! 🙈lol thanks so much! We appreciate you more than you know! 🥰
Matt & Nat, you are so much fun to watch. You make me smile the whole time. This was really one of the best videos...superb filming! Maine is one of my favorite states. I saw my first live moose there about 45 years ago. The lobster there is the tastiest...sooo fresh!! You had me drooling when you were eating the lobstah!! 😋👍👍
Aww... Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it! We loved Maine! Oh, wow! That's awesome! And yes, the lobster in Maine is the BEST!! So fresh and delicious! Thanks so much for watching!
I was born in Portand and grew up in South Portland. After my wife and I got married, we lived in other towns but always within an hour or so of Portland. So, I am very familiar with all you experienced - many times over. However, I have never liked lobster in any form.
I've been to Portland ayup. Stayed with a friend for a summer. Went lobstering too. Can't eat lobster. Or any shell fish for that matter. So that means more for you!
First off guys, the accents sounded like they were on-point! However I’m from AZ so I wouldn’t know too much about accents since we don’t have one LOL. Okay, the 🦞 -rolls looked so amazing. You definitely upgraded from the NH Taco Bell. Beautiful coastline and Lighthouse….Maine is really pretty.
hahaha we've been working on it! 🤣😜 We only know from movies or SNL haha Hopefully next time our accents will be better next go around! haha 😜🤣 ugh I want a Lobster roll right now!!👌🏼👌🏼 Now I'm drooling at work. haha definitely an upgrade from Taco Bell. You are 100% right... Maine is beautiful!
First time watching the two of you and loved your video. I am originally from Maine but now live in Florida but we try to get up there to visit family when we can. Due to the pandemic and unfortunately being diagnosed with breast cancer this past year, we have been unable to travel but we are looking forward to doing it next year. Good try with the accent , you almost got there. LOL Since I graduated from Cape Elizabeth High School and my maternal grandfather was stationed at Fort Williams during World War I, it made me very nostalgic to see all the places your visited including Portland where I worked along the waterfront for years.
So sorry for the late reply 🙈 We’re trying to catch up! Aww thank you for watching & for your kind comment! 🥰 We appreciate you & are praying for you!!! Thanks for sharing!! 🥰 We hope you have an amazing New Years! 🎉
Born in Portland to. Graduated from Deering High. Wonder how you folks like Florida? I thought of it but I think it's much too hot for me. I'm not comfortable over 60 degrees. Just like a lobstah 😅 sorry for your diagnosis. Hope you are doing well
So sorry for the late reply 🙈 We’re trying to catch up! Aww thank you for watching & for your comment! You truly live in such an awesome state!! 👌🏼 We can’t wait to come back & explore more! We actually didn’t! 😭 was there so much more?!
I tried a lobster roll in Cape Cod and one on Martha's Vineyard, but the most flavorful I had was at the Old Ebbitt Grill in Washington, D.C. Going to Maine next!
Thanks for the beautiful video! Husband and I will be in Portland Maine beginning in July and traveling around Maine for July and August. So excited to see this beautiful state!
Hi 👋. Another simply amazing vlog! The lobster roll and the lobster looked amazing. Yes 100% seasickness is a thing 🤣🤢. Keep up the awesome work and stay safe. God bless you both always!🙏👍✈️🍩🦞
Also....subscribed. You guys are soooo good together, and the editing, production and music and very well done. And yes, please come back to Maine, in the very least to check out some great Portland restaurants.....and the fall season too!
I need to go to Maine and soon! Lobster is good enough reason for me to go :). One of my favorite videos, and as always, great drone footage,! Love the lighthouse and coastal drone scenes, came out gorgeous! Looks like y'all had beautiful weather there.
Aww... Thank you, Lucy! We LOVED Maine! We would love to come back and see more! We've heard great things about Bar Harbor and Acadia NP! Thanks for watching!😊
Nice vid. I live in maine, here are some things to do from someone that's spent their whole life in maine: Best breakfast in portland: Ruski's, hot suppa, marcies Best tourist stuff to do: duck boat, blue lobster gift shop, take peaks Island ferry and rent bikes.....beautiful loop around island. Maybe take a drive up the coastline and check out some of the smaller coastal towns, there's a bunch of them Maine beer is best in USA: Bissell, austin st, goodfire, grateful grain and sooooo many more Hiking: Mt kahtahdin and Bigelows, difficult but doable day hikes...a few hours from Portland. Sugarloaf has great mountain biking and skiing in winter, best golf course in the state in my opinion is Sugarloaf BTW, best lobster roll imo is high roller in portland
I'm so glad to have found you guys.In the fall I want to go to one of these states to see the beauty of the autumn colors.Maine,Vermont etc.Which state would you suggest?
Yeah, potato donuts! Hey guys, this is just way too beautiful... but ya know, Maine in the fall, so yeah. 😍 Aw, the little girl busking! And your growth since filming this is bonkers - WOOHOO!!!
Love Maine Portland is so awesome. That lobster roll looked awesome a lot better than the one in Boston. I agree yes to lobster all the time really don't care what the price. Being from New England I am spoiled with the fresh seafood. Now as far as the accent nailed it.
ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! The pics(and memories) u have from there must be amazing!! My wife has ALWAYS wanted to go there to eat lobster but she is now allergic to shellfish, including lobster. But I'm not! Lol. Thanks for taking us all along on ur adventure!
Born in Boston, Mainer for the last 18 years..you pronounced Portland correctly. I have to say it does kinda bug me when people try to imitate our accent but it's our cross to bear being from such a "wicked awesome" place..LOL. Casco Bay was kind to you flatlanders (pronounced flat land ahhs) it looked like glass out there. We save those lobstahs for the tourists. Have to admit I never had one, they freak me out. The best part of Maine is Acadia NP, it's amazing.
Hahaha 🤣 sorry about that! We get the same with the southern accent! 🤣🙈🤷🏼♀️ we think it’s soo cool even though we are all 1 country there are so many pockets of languages, cultures etc. It’s pretty amazing! Thanks so much for your comment! Sorry for just now replying 🙈 we’re trying to catch up! Lol hope you have an amazing New Years!
You guys are cute! You both tried my favorite beer Allagash White 🍺 Glad you visited our lovely State... Maine is beautiful and a nice place to live if you can handle the cold. 💚
Having grown up just outside of Portland and having spent a lot of time there in 34 years it’s weird seeing folks from away finding it such an experience. It’s definitely a nice small city but it just doesn’t seem that remarkable to a native. But we welcome visitors with open arms.
I absolutely love Maine. I lived in Portland from 2015-2019. I miss it so much. Portland is such a great city! Glad you enjoyed your visit. I would move back if I could, I don’t miss those winters though!
too bad you didn't have time to stop on Peaks Island in Casco Bay and rent a golf cart! If you ever come back check out Peaks Island and Peaks Island Golf Carts and rent a cart from us..the views are gorgeous
for seasickness, get "sea bands" from a CVS or walgreens. They're terry cloth wrist bands with a plastic bead that sits on a nerve to prevent motion/sea sickness. FYI they worked for morning sickness too since that's caused by "motion" in your stomach. The sea bands work great on boats, trains, any type of motion sickness.
So sorry for the late reply 🙈 We’re trying to catch up! Aww thank you for watching & for your comment! 🥰 We will definitely look into those! Thank you!
Haha… Right?!? Yes, there videos were filmed last year. We visited all 50 states but got behind on uploads. But this particular video was filmed on October 14th. If you’re ever curious about when a video was filmed, we always put the film date/month in the description of every video.😊 Thanks so much for watching!
You guys eat your donuts in Portlands Deering Oaks park where they film the Whitney Houston’s movie called The Preachers Wife. Oh by the way great video as always guys.
Wouldn’t that be awesome to be a lighthouse worker back in the day ? You get to live in the most beautiful location and all you have to do is turn a light on and off
Hi we are traveling to Portland head next week..Is there metered machine to park ? Or regular ones? And how much is it? Are the parking lots always full? As we will travel all the way from Connecticut ,so asking.. thank you in advance subscribed your channel
I can't believe there is a little kid busking in downtown Portland! We're within an easy drive to Maine and have been going there at least once a year for over 40 years. Worth the trip!
Haha... Right?! That was my favorite part of the video! Lol... He was going for it... wrong notes and all! Lol... We loved Portland! Definitely wish we'd had longer in the area! Thanks for watching! 😊 -Matt
Hey Julie! Nope... No motion sickness for us, but we would definitely recommend taking motion sickness medication about 30 mins before your whale watching tour just to be safe! Thanks so much for watching and safe travels!😊
Really love you two since discovering a few days ago ❤ Here in TX I know the heat some of which you have described. My only comment on your vids, please stop saying ‘starving’. I always taught my children to never use that word, they have never known what starving truly is. Just say you’re really hungry or something akin to that. Better etiquette, but enjoy your trips, looks like you 2 really enjoy each other.
Hello Matt and Nat, I'm so excited to see you both in my hometown, Portland. I'm glad you tried the potato donuts and loved them. You both even hung out at the park I used to always go to, and wow!, I was shocked to hear the boat captain is from the same place as you are. Can the world get any smaller?
@@AdventuresofMattandNat Thank you for the compliment. Happy New Year to you as well. Next time if you're in Portland again, be sure to take a ferry boat out to Peak's Island.
Yep… Unfortunately, that’s part of traveling part time with a limited amount of time in each destination. You can only see and do so much in a day, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time in Portland. We definitely want to visit again and make our way up to Acadia NP and Bar Harbor. We appreciate you watching!
Next time you go back, check out Wood Island Light House in Biddeford. It has a more natural rugged beauty to it with fantastic views. Plus you get a cool nature walk as well. It's definitely a gem.
Native Mainah here, LOL so never say lobster sandwich no such thing never bread. Lobstah Roll😂 Born in Portland this makes me very homesick makes me homesick

Awesome! We love to hear that our video is a help! Hope you have so much fun! It’s a beautiful area!
I’m from Boston mass and I love Portland
Having grown up just outside of Portland and having spent a lot of time there in 34 years it’s weird seeing folks from away finding it such an experience. It’s definitely a nice small city but it just doesn’t seem that remarkable to a native. But we welcome visitors with open arms.
Holy Doughnut Batman
The fact that you guys are on state #44 makes me so happy 🙌🏼 state #50 will be so bittersweet 😭
Isn’t it crazy?!? We have those same emotions! Lol
omg you stood exactly where i stand everyday! so weird hahah cool
That’s amazing! We loved Portland! Such an awesome city! Thanks for watching!😊😊
Thank you!
You had me at lobster suckers! Lol great video, so did you guys film these last year? I’m trying to keep up that’s all 🥰
Haha… Right?!? Yes, there videos were filmed last year. We visited all 50 states but got behind on uploads. But this particular video was filmed on October 14th. If you’re ever curious about when a video was filmed, we always put the film date/month in the description of every video.😊 Thanks so much for watching!
I love the Donuts 🍩 I’ve had them
Hi Matt and Nat
Love the content This is such a beautiful video❣❣
Please keep up the great work.
Aww… Thank you!!🙏🏼😊
I miss Portland! I moved out there for 7 months from AZ! The Holy donut, not a fan! I miss the accents though lol you guys did a good job lol
Ok yall made Maine look interesting lol
Haha... It really is great! We want to go back and see Bar Harbor and Acadia NP!
You guys eat your donuts in Portlands Deering Oaks park where they film the Whitney Houston’s movie called The Preachers Wife. Oh by the way great video as always guys.
Sorry for the misspelling it should’ve been (ate) not eat. Lol
Too bad you couldn’t stay longer there’s so much more beautiful things to see in Maine not only along the coast but inland also.
Nice video 🤩🤩🤩
Thanks so much, Vanny! We appreciate you watching!😊
Wouldn’t that be awesome to be a lighthouse worker back in the day ? You get to live in the most beautiful location and all you have to do is turn a light on and off
Absolutely!!! Such beautiful locations!
Hi we are traveling to Portland head next week..Is there metered machine to park ? Or regular ones? And how much is it? Are the parking lots always full? As we will travel all the way from Connecticut ,so asking.. thank you in advance subscribed your channel
New subscriber here I love your channel ❤
Aww… Thanks Simone!! We appreciate it more than you know!! 🥰🥰
😊 -Matt
Did you get motion sickness on the boat? I’m worried about that when we go whale watching?
Hey Julie!
Better etiquette, but enjoy your trips, looks like you 2 really enjoy each other.
how was your Easter
It was great! Hope yours was as well!
Love this so much ❤
Hello Matt and Nat,
I'm so excited to see you both in my hometown, Portland. I'm glad you tried the potato donuts and loved them. You both even hung out at the park I used to always go to, and wow!, I was shocked to hear the boat captain is from the same place as you are. Can the world get any smaller?
You’ve got an awesome hometown! We are so looking forward to coming back! 🎉 Thanks so much for watching 🥰 & hope you have an awesome New Years! 🎊
@@AdventuresofMattandNat Thank you for the compliment. Happy New Year to you as well. Next time if you're in Portland again, be sure to take a ferry boat out to Peak's Island.
@David W my dad used to be the mailman on Peaks Island. As kids he would hide Us in the mail sacks to take the ferry😅
Seals in Casco Bay!
As someone that lives in Maine you missed so many amazing places by spending so much time in Portland
I'm from Maine and Portland is by far the best city to visit in Maine hands down
do u prefer krispy kreme or the holy donut?
Both, they are very different in our opinion. So both are great! Lol
Next time you go back, check out Wood Island Light House in Biddeford. It has a more natural rugged beauty to it with fantastic views. Plus you get a cool nature walk as well. It's definitely a gem.
Thanks for the recommendations and for watching!😊
Maine rocks!!! Beautiful State
Wife, and i have been binge watching your videos. I can't comment on them all. I just wanted you two to know your content is binge worthy. ❤❤

How much was the lobster?
Not sure! But if you Google "Luke's Lobster menu" I'm sure their most recent prices will come up. Thanks for watching!
Omg! That lobster sandwich has me salivating all over the place!!!!!! I'd move to Maine just for that and nothing else!! Oh YUM!!!! 🤗
