I'm new to the game and i noticed the trend that PvE is just a generel "I NEED TO GET MVP!" rush-fest, while PvP is way more coordinated. I don't usually like PvP games themselves but in Rainbow Six, having a cooperative team, that doesn't just run in to get themselves killed, is just way more pleasant. Since i am new, i also like to do low maintenance jobs, like taking point with a ballistic shield and it's just not possible, when people just run in brain dead. In PvE they just get blown up by bombers most of the time. While it still is painful for them, and painful to watch for me, people tend to do rush way less in PvP, just because players and their movements are way harder to predict. So yeah, i play way more PvP now, even though i generally like PvE more. If the teammates aren't toxic bile-sacks that just complain, it is WAY more fun, just because no-one is rushing.
Once you know what to look for, spotting legion traps with twitch gets very easy. Just look for that slight weird distortion on the ground. Using Twitch actually taught me how to find legion traps as an operator and shoot them first.
There was a big controversy last time VG made a video similar to this, and all the silvers were like "but I'm gonna play who I main I don't need a breacher or support just play whoever you get kills with"

First I just wanna say that I love the video as it really helps new players like me make the shift from casual to ranked. Although, I do have one question that I never seem to understand so maybe someone can help me. How do you see people so efficiently? For example, at 10:06 in the video, he was able to see the enemy through the opening in the floor in less than a second. I have rewatched that part over and over and I couldn't make out a target to shoot at. Are there certain graphical settings I should be playing on to see people better or is it something else? I normally would just accept that I don't have a trained eye for it yet, but at the same time this is the only fps where I have trouble seeing people. Even games like battlefield or Arma where player visibilty is difficult I had no issues, but this game's visibility is a whole new level for me. Please help me as I'm tired of losing firefights simply cause I had no chance of seing the attacker.
No what he meant was waste smokes on the ads so the useful gadgets(grenades/flashes) can be used inside the obj. He didn't mean smokes would counter the ads
So you're saying that smokes aren't as useful as flashes? Have you played since Blood Orchid came out? Smokes are much more reliable than flashes, and are far more versatile. This is why high level players and pros will intentionally burn flashes to get rid of an ADS and not smokes.
I recommended your channel to one of my friends new to the game. One video I think you should do is a camera guide. Identify all the camera locations for the new players to know where to destroy the defensive cams.
Fuse can actually be pretty useful when attacking basement objectives on Oregon. You can deploy his cluster charge on the top of the stairs to the second floor. When deployed they bounce down the stairs to the basement making it easy to kill defenders peaking the doorway on the main floor
Thatcher is really situational. I would rather bring buck or sledge most of the time and just take care of bandit batteries from above or below the obj. Not to mention the sites where I can grenade the drone hole.
And if you are trying to make a quick push say on an outside wall, thatcher could be used to quickly get rid of bandit batteries for ones who do not bandit trick. With sledge or buck, you HAVE to go into the base and worry about flankers and roamers as you are trying to take out the batteries. No one has that time to wait for you AND if you do die, then that is just a waste. Yea taking someone with you is smart but they cannot watch every angle, say on a map like chalet.
Thatcher never feels situational. The sheer number of gadgets he counters means that there are very few operators on defence who are completely unaffected by his gadget(eg Tachanka, Frost). Plus, chucking his emp into the objective room usually will destroy/disable something, and most importantly counter bandit-tricking. Its a universal gadget overall, and can easily sub for Frags when spread is required
I starter watching you 1 month ago and now im going up in ranked and my highest kill game is 17. I started playing this game in june. THANKS VARSITYGAMING

Dude i am Diamond but sometimes i still learn new things watching your videos, all the players should watch your vids so that maybe my solo queues wouldnt be such a pain in the ass, keep it up
The most important thing to remember is to PLAY THE OBJECTIVE! There are multiple times when we can plant but the person with diffuser wants to get kills instead and ends up fucking up and costing us the round. Plant the diffuser, take the hostage, and secure the objective. They will come to you and you will get the kill.
“Not even the best player can kill 2 people when they are both shooting at him at the same time” Watch KiXStaRs stream highlights #1. There’s a specific clip on border which is pretty impressive Btw nice vid though
I really have to thank you man, I already knew that I had to learn from my mistakes, but sometimes I don't recognize them, and these are mistakes that I make mich apparently, thx mate
pretty sure the north is not always to the top when you pick a spawn point, and using IQ inside of a building will often get you killed when you are distracted. Hibana charges can be seen from the other side of the wall when you activate them so it easier to bandit trick a Hibana but pretty smart move to put it in the middle.
Question number 3 was a little bit tricky though. My answer was depends, because I roam as pulse in master, right above hatch. Obviously I'm not the only one that does that, a lot of other plats and diamonds do that as well. And someone tends to play on stairs to deny the hatch. So I would have the hard breacher drone them out, and have 2 people push upstairs and clear. I HATE hibana charges going to waste, especially when you can hit meeting hatches or take out a mira window.
I disagree with the "not finding out which ops your fighting" during the drone phase. Even if you dont scan them and see them, i think it is worth losing a few of the drones over. The reason being you now know what to look out for. They have a kapkan? Now you know not to charge through doorways. They have a Cav? dont go alone. They have pulse? Be careful when standing above the objective on destructible floor.
I started maining thermite over hibana simply because his breach is faster and the hole is larger. Plus I just think being a hard breacher is one of the most mandatory roles
On your first question i awnserd tatcher and fuze because if you know how fuze his cluster charges deploy you can always use the middle puck to shoot strait and kill all gadjets in that area. I say it works beter then iq because fuze wil also blow up frost mats and if you know his pucks go all horizontal you can clean up a whole halway with one charge. And to say yeah but fuze needs a destroyable wall. Well so do IQ
I think you favor a lot more Hibana than Thermite, i cant get it yet, when you try to open a wall with Hibana you have to spend your whole Kairos, Thermite has 2 chances to do it and hell, better 2 big ass holes in different walls than 1 person size in objective. Even tho the hatches are a big deal, but not every map has very good hatches that are crucial to break trough and people looooooooove to camp them. I think that more than a "who's better" you should say that it is something very reliant on preference. Love your videos btw, keep the great work.
18:50 Hibana shows up at the top. You gave away the answer. But also you didn't account for new players who do not yet have Hibana yet. So ultimately Thermite would be the choice. Obviously a VERY new player might not have either but ofcourse they should be unlocking Thatcher first and then Thermite or save for Hibana. Its all in circumstance.
There should be another breaching op that can break reinforced walls. I just don't like Hibana, and Thermite's gun just gives me nightmares. Another option wouldn't hurt.
I know it’s not important to scan, but I feel that because of the new trap meta and kapkan that I have to scan them to make sure of what traps to expect during the action phase. Otherwise I’ll stumble upon a lot of things if I’m not careful.
Wow, I got all the but the bonus question correct but I'm still crap at this game. Maybe my problem isn't a lack of game knowledge but just a lack of mechanical skill. How would you go about improving that?
1st Minute: Deny anyone from getting in or out of the objective, and deny them from easy kills or any information. 2nd Minute: Start breaching your objective site and *ELIMINATE TRAPS* (very important) and pinching and covering corners where you think they are. Annoy them and make them Paranoid. 3rd Minute: Blind them, distract them so that you can push. Use rushing and luring tactics. Try not to enter alone and watch any other traps you forgot in 2nd minute. It's like Trench Warfare, build your defenses/trench, shell the enemy position, then rush across.
What if the Breachers gadget is destroyed by the roamer shouldn’t the roamer be taken out by a other operator and as you said you should have a couple protecting the flank so you shouldn’t care
I’m still new but I have a tip for attackers, in the second match I played a Capitao and Blitz were doing a push, but the Capitao gave up and ran ahead allowing me to shoot him in the head and interrogate him, leaving his Blitz without support. What I mean is, don’t leave your shield bois to fend for themselves.

Ron Pollock Jr in the low ranks
@@mind7719 This video is old and this comment too... genius
@@mind7719 the ban system didn’t exist back then
Dude i am Diamond but sometimes i still learn new things watching your videos, all the players should watch your vids so that maybe my solo queues wouldnt be such a pain in the ass, keep it up
You forgot to mention one important aspect of thermite vs hibana. I'll always pick thermite because I'm not a weeb.
Thanks for the info! I’ve learned a lot after watching this siege school episode.
7:47 Where can ı find this map viewer.
Go into a custom game as a spectator and you should be able to view the map like this
@@lukegoalie18_82 thanks a lot
...I’ve only been playing two days and this video helped alot
I love playing with randoms that pick useless operators
Especially Lord Tachanka
WiillWiin yeah it is nice when nobody picks a breacher or someone to take out devices. I guess they're all still pretty good huh? Smh
WiillWiin lmao thank you for stating the obvious.... I'm pro league so I'm great with all the operators. No shyt it's up to the squad strat you ass tf
ranpo677 did you watch the video, he said pick a hard breacher if your teammate doesn't lmao
ranpo677 Way to be an douche, fuckhead
the bonus question gets me every time, I wish I had your infinite knowledge.
No way I actually got the first question right in the order he said it😁
Just recently discovered your channel, and I really enjoy your videos, the tone, the format and the topics. Thank you!
im new to r6 and i invite them to spawn kill me so i could know where they could do it from
The most important thing to remember is to PLAY THE OBJECTIVE! There are multiple times when we can plant but the person with diffuser wants to get kills instead and ends up fucking up and costing us the round. Plant the diffuser, take the hostage, and secure the objective. They will come to you and you will get the kill.
“Not even the best player can kill 2 people when they are both shooting at him at the same time”
Watch KiXStaRs stream highlights #1. There’s a specific clip on border which is pretty impressive
Btw nice vid though
he said 3 people
I really have to thank you man, I already knew that I had to learn from my mistakes, but sometimes I don't recognize them, and these are mistakes that I make mich apparently, thx mate
Ash, Twitch, Fuze, Jackal/Beard, Buck. DREAM TEAM
Rafy Aqwa i would replace jackal or beard with thermite or hibana
Rafy Aqwa beard is the worst operator lol
Biggie Cheese you're probably fucking gold
1:25 "Fuze cannot fuze from above"
He can actually, you can fuze on top of the stairs
im a pacifist and believe in achieving victory without conflict
this is amazing news
Bro thank you so much you’ve helped me so much and joe I’m getting better at the game🙏
Yes yes yes mhm more I like it yes yes just a bit more siege and mhm good yup
pretty sure the north is not always to the top when you pick a spawn point, and using IQ inside of a building will often get you killed when you are distracted. Hibana charges can be seen from the other side of the wall when you activate them so it easier to bandit trick a Hibana but pretty smart move to put it in the middle.
Idk...having to bring a character is pretty lame. Kind of like Reinhart in overwatch, just breeds toxicity.
Do you wanna win or not
Question number 3 was a little bit tricky though.
I love his bonus questions. they are are always bs.
Im hibana main so its g 👉👌
Blyat_Juice. Hibana > ash
@@bluflare12345 no habana>every other operator
Except our Lord tachanka
I started maining thermite over hibana simply because his breach is faster and the hole is larger. Plus I just think being a hard breacher is one of the most mandatory roles
On your first question i awnserd tatcher and fuze because if you know how fuze his cluster charges deploy you can always use the middle puck to shoot strait and kill all gadjets in that area. I say it works beter then iq because fuze wil also blow up frost mats and if you know his pucks go all horizontal you can clean up a whole halway with one charge. And to say yeah but fuze needs a destroyable wall. Well so do IQ
Great job! Even as experienced player is good to refresh this knowledge.
Another option wouldn't hurt.
i love your videos because theres a quiz which really helps with the situations
