Boom Supersonic Update: How Is The Overture Progressing?
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 6 ส.ค. 2024
- 2023 was a pivotal year for Boom Supersonic and its development in building and flying its Overture supersonic transport aircraft. Upon completion, it will be the first supersonic commercial aircraft since the Concorde. Last year was arguably the year of finding subcontractors to take a concept into construction - so let’s go over the progress that the company has made thus far…

I'm still skeptical but I do want them to succeed
I feel it is possible because nobody haven't done deeper development in terms of supersonic planes being more efficient and quiter..Props to boom and NASA for taking another important mission!!
Me too
I am also wondering what the ticket prices in gonna be and is there enough demand to sustain it?
It’d be realistic with Concorde fans around
I bet I’m more sceptical than you.
Wonderful seeing many international companies work together on this project. I pray to God the jet enters Airline service 🙏
I would love for this company to actually succeed!
Please be successful, i was too young to fly on the Concorde but id do anything to fly on this plane
I worry about getting the engines manufactured…
Yeah, they not addressing who will manufacture the engine.
They made it
@@Aviator381 Have they found sub contractors?
No one wants to manufacture it because the plane won’t succeed. All of those engine manufacturers ran the economics themselves and realized that.
@@ghostdog2365 the easiest solution to this is buying NK-32 from Russia. But no way it will happen
More money on this type of developments than wars. ✈️👍
I would be less skeptical if there was sometime on the screen other tham CG. You know actual people doing actual stuff with CNC tools, laying up carbon fibre components and pusing them into the big autoclave etc. What's the word I am looking for.....oh yes reality.
They’ve made the boom XB 1 they’ve done high speed taxis and it should fly soon
That’s reality
The Factory is real.
Evidently you wouldn't recognize reality if it slapped you in the face
The prototype just flew
@@klaudioballa3003Show us
The suppliers are all well known and proven manufacturers and engineers of the best the aviation industry has to offer. I wish Boom all the best.
Absolutely Fantastic !!! I hope I can afford it....
The manufacturing hangar went up really quick. Quite impressive.
it's always good to have news on boom overture i think this plane can shine
Very Exciting … Hopefully it takes off!
At first I was very unsure about this happening but every day I’m getting more and more certain that it’s going to happen
It will fly about the same time the Hyperloop enters commercial service. This is the future, folks, just like NFTs.
🤣🤣🤣
@@Elliasp-xx7mbyou lost me at hyperloop 😂 they said that to every new machine throughout history 😂
@@lanzortiz3199no they didn’t
Lost me twice, hyperloops and NFTs lmao
NFTs and hyperloops are dead.
Woo hoo, you mentioned the company that I work for, SA!!!
I have my doubts about whether they can actually deliver it, and on the economics of supersonic flight, but I’m rooting for them.
Awesome Video🙂
SONIC BOOM: "I'm still here!"
👋😁
But I think most of it will be Directed upwards.
They’ll just go supersonic over the ocean, simple
@@suspiciousstew1169
Yeah Concorde had to fly subsonic over land. Lost time and because the Delta wing is designed for higher speeds, it used more fuel.
Both problematic to making it viable!
I’m confident on their progress.
I'm hoping to travel on this aircraft some day !!!
I want them to succeed! If I didn’t have the chance to fly on the Concorde, I definitely want to fly on the overture!
Can't wait to sed how they do thus year
Perfect 😊
It’s looking more like the Concorde all the time. Except the engines on the wing pylons. I hope the engine mfg. can hit all the performance numbers allowing supersonic cruise without after burners.
Progressing great
Can't wait
I want them to succeed! I would really want to fly on one of those planes!
Critical subsystems good.
But who’s actually gunna make the engines?
Not GE, not PW, not RR…
Boom themselves.
Florida Turbine Technologies (FTT)
Superb !!!!
I live pretty close to where the factory for the Overture is going up; I'm hoping to invite several aviation TH-camrs to my place so that they can produce their own videos about this aircraft.
Overture only exist in CGI. Their single seat demonstrator still hasn't flown. How will it cruise at 1.7 mach with 140,000 pounds of thrust.
I wish them the best but I'm VERY skeptical.
Greensborough, NC is also the home of Hondajet
Yesh that right
Absolutely wonderful but I am also interested in the concept of Low Orbit Flight, which is supposed to make it possible to reach any global position in 45 minutes flat.
I wonder when they'll begin contructing the first full scale protorype of Overture
how do they always give me updates on the exact things I want updates on
I would love to fly on the overture
Same but it can never be better then the concorde
This is just like Nikola trucks! The fact that Rolls Royce pulled out speaks volumes. It’s a paperwork exercise to pull loads of funding and then go under.
Yup. It’s comically improbable.
I hope flight one day.
Unbelievably I'm here because of SNL. Very cool!
I so badly want them to succeed!
Hopefully this aircraft will have radiation protection for the passengers and crew since the Concorde didn't.
They'll just hand out those lead vests they use at the dentists office 😂
Concorde's total radiation exposure to the crew was lower than that of most other long-distance liners due to the significantly increased speed.
God speed boom!
Pueda ser que algun dia lo veamos volar.
I love them to succeed. But seems it is mostly at inception.
I'm saving my SA points to fly on it.
So, designing it own engines from scratch, on top the of the plane itself?
Hurry up. Itll be great
Who is creating all these exciting CGIs?
Interesting. Wish there was more substance though.
The Concorde could only travel at supersonic speeds over the Atlantic ocean due to the sonic boom - Has The Overture solved this problem yet so its can fly over land at these speeds? 🤔🤔🤔
Here’s egg on my face. Seems like they ARE progressing nicely.
I hope they don’t run out of money/financing in the meantime. Please succeed
When I can buy it?
Boom supersonic is one of the most incredible companies out there, i wish them nothing but the absolute best in their endeavors and i cannot wait to fly overture!😊 3:37
Fun fact this will be Concorde 2.0
I completely forgot about boom
The design looks like the boeing 2707
The Concorde concept will live on..
nice and very informative
I really really want "Air India" to buy the "Boom Overture" supersonic aircraft.....
Lmao
Great News about Boom Supersonic! Looks like great progress!! Excellent!!
they'll succeed
Will the overture stars it service before boeing’s 777x??
No
The bets are off, both are looking very distant so far
2030 is first revenue service.
@@Perich29 not gonna happen

If they get into difficulty, Mr Beast can help them out \m/
At this point it would be easier, faster and cheaper to just refurbish and reengine some of the existing Concordes and make them fly.
Why not two engines?
Skeptical but excited ofc, just wondering what is ticket price…😓
they said around $5,000
Concorde's baby
The real story here is what North Carolina is offering businesses. How many more companies will set up there or move their headquarters there. Very advantageous.
Their hq is still in denver
But what do taxpayers get out of it? I’ll tell you what they get…the bill.
Baby boom still to fly.....
Have you thought about putting internet on supersonic planes?
Cockpit??
If this means that people will be able to get where they need to be faster, then HUZZAH!
Have they deal with sonic boom problem?
They’re hoping to get exempted from noise regulations
Boom supersonic australympic at 2032
I guess I got this recommendation because I am watching Boeing news.
Guess what kind of news...
If it gets built, it'll be the first supersonic in history built entirely by accountants.
They should not have subcontracted everything to third part
I want to go to Ireland 🇮🇪
I love the concord I hope boom will bring super sonic back and fix the problems of its predecessor
So what does Boom actually do? It’s all subs.
That cockpit looks tiny
I heard that airports were restricting four engine aircraft. I wonder how that'll affect Boom.
Boom aircraft will probably fly flights between major hub airports, where many airlines still use some quad engine jets or like Emirates where half their fleet is a380s (quad engine). So in major hub airports, quad engine jets will still be allowed for at least decade, if not more.
@@The_Timer_Guy I hope you're right. I really want Boom Supersonic to succeed.
@@The_Timer_GuyIf they can go 100%SAF that also may change the equation....
Big Spanish connection. Interesting.
I bet that magically they'll get permission of go supersonic over the USA
Beware siloization! ;)
the concordes son lol
South Carolina? Boeing build their planes there don't they? Hope Boom don't have the same problems!
Good job nasa for future generation
Concorde's succesor
1:35 who??
Boom will go bust.
I don't believe any of this would come into fruition.
I hope I’m wrong but this will end with little or nothing to show for it. Again I hope I’m wrong
ye but what airlines are buying
2040 if at all
Why involving french???
Do let politicians in the door for heaven’s sake!
Low North Carolina taxes = declining public secondary and higher education, inadequate infrastructure, and sloppy work by unprotected and anxiety-ridden non-union labor.
Facts. More corporate welfare for our overlords
I may be skeptical but the child inside me really doesn't want to
4 engines....
