Sir, Sambhar to bahot hi behatarin bana hai, sabzi bhunane se taste adhik badh gaya. It became tempting n yummy 😋 thank you for excellent creation 😀 ❤❤❤❤
Chef you have made dal and vegetable curry and NOT Sambhar. The main ingredient of Sambhar is KADIPATHA/Curry leaves. Ginger and Garlic are NOT added to Sambhar. Boil dal with a few curry leaves ,haldi. Add chopped vegetables like pumpkin, drumstick, carrot, brinjal ,yam and a few Sambhar onions or sliced normal onion ( which gives Sambhar a distinct flavour.) and boil. When vegetables are half cooked add Sambhar powder according to taste 1or 2 chopped tomatoes and tamarind pulp . Adjust the water to get a flowing consistency. Let it boil well . Give a tadka preferably with coconut oil or Sesame oil, mustard seeds curry leaves and dry chilli. Add a little hing. Pour this on the Sambhar and cover the lid . After a few minutes open the lid ,add a few coriander leaves and a pinch of sugar or jaggery (optional) to balance the tanginess. Can be served with rice, idli, dosa ,Wada etc. Sambhar across all South India and in our homes is traditionally made in this way.
