    From what my professor from Cal Poly Pomona told me, the primera segunda tersera lingo came from how common the chords were in a lot of songs like sones and rancheras.
    Primera being the most common chord in songs (tonic, 1 chord), segunda being the second most common (dominant, 5 chord), and tersera being the third most common (subdominant, 4 chord).
    Makes sense since a lot of songs only have the 1 and 5 chord, and just as many with the 1, 4, and 5 chord only. She told me with mariachi you kind of have to become bilingual in understanding the chord lingo since mariachi names for chords are different from the western classical names.

    I don't know if you could make a tutorial with all the chords for guitar hitting, including sharps, augmented, minor etc.

    Is the D tuning the Michoacán or Tecalitlán tuning?

      They both are D major, the difference is one used an open B on the third string, the other used an open C on the third string

    Is there any difference in the sound if I tune it like a guitar in G? Listening to both guitar tunings, I can't hear the difference.

      There is a difference.
      I think it depends on the golpe you play and the microphone you use. On my guitarra de golpe, what he calls the D tuning sounds clearly deeper than what he calls the G tuning because I've used both on mine before. I guess the microphone didn't really pick up the difference, or it could be that one golpe is more brighter sounding than the other.
      The D tuning I'm pretty sure is used more in the conjuntos de arpa grande, since their armonia consists of a vihuela and guitarra de golpe, no guitar. So a lower tuning with a deeper sound would make sense.
      The G tuning is really only a whole step away from a vihuelas tuning, and what he calls the D tuning is a bit lower, close to a 4th/5th difference depending how you look at it. But you can research and try out the Urbana tuning (G tuning) and Michoacan tuning (D tuning) and decide for yourself.

    When you are putting strings on a golpe, I know that you can use guitar strings, so which guitar strings go for which guitarra de golpe string? Thank you

      From other videos I have seen, you can use a Classical Guitar D string for the lowest string and then all nylon strings for the rest (G, B, and E strings).

    hello, I have a question, from what I have read, the blow guitar can be tuned in 3 different ways, my question is: in any of the 3 tunings the positions are the same or changes the position of the chords depending on the tuning ?
    Greetings friend.

      @MrElcharro53  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Each of the three tunings have different chord positions. the G tuning is very different and I'd say most complicated. The two D tuning one is like a vihuela only a 4th position up and the other D tuning is a fifth down and the chords are like that of G tuning. yea it's a mess maybe I'll make another vid about this.
