So well deserved !!!
How?
Ha! The Holdovers was one of the few flicks I saw…. Instantly loved it… her performance was very touching…. Had no idea she was nominated… WONDERFUL SURPRISE TO SEE HER WIN….
As I watched her performance in the holdovers I thought “I hope she wins an Oscar for this” before she was ever nominated. She deserved this.
Just rewatched this beautiful film for the holidays, and I think it'll be a yearly tradition. I feel like Da'vine ascended "actor" and BECAME her character. her performance just felt so natural. Definitely a diamond in the rough that has so many more great things coming for her.
She’s always Cherish for me. The best friend everyone wants❤
The way Da'Vine made me cry this early in the morning! Her gratefulness to God is so rare these days. She now has a fan in me always
Looks like this was a great show, actually giving the nominees a real moment, and allowing more participation from past winners. Very nice.
Coming back just for the graceful and sincere introduction by Lupita. Beautiful
I don't know I sat and watched the Oscars for over three hours this year when I said I wouldn't watch and seen this young Afro American princess miss DaVine Joy win her first Oscar literally brought me to tears 😭
What a beautiful spirit this woman has she glows from the inside out. Her speech penetrated my heart and brought tears to my eyes.
So happy she won. She was great in the Holdovers.
Whoever came up with this concept of having each nominee acknowledged in depth by a previous winner: Brilliant idea! It is so moving to see the communal support for each other! Very heart-warming.
Da'Vine Joy Randolph was the soul of the Holdovers, flawlessly embodying a grieving mother, which ultimately resulted in an Academy Award winning masterclass performance.
She made my heart break into a thousand pieces in this movie. Fabulous actress 😎
I really wanted Danielle to win soooo bad, but Da’Vine was also incredible so I’m content!
She was so amazing in The Holdovers. When I was on my way to see it a second time, all I was talking about was her performance.
Tears::: ❤❤❤❤❤💜 Every one of these ladies are winners... Amazing beautiful. Congratulations all.
Her speech made me cry
I hope this award results in MANY more great roes for Da'Vine!
this was a really beautiful way to present an award. wish they did this more often.
