Watching alot of your videos has inspired me to get back into training myself. I have been watching since your Korea days, I was in the military like you and got out and really let myself go. I got to the point where it was hard to breath when putting on my shoes, my body hurt consistently and I had stomach issues. I told myself no more and in 3 weeks I am down 10lbs already. Your videos have made me want to get better at running and biking. Thanks Nick for everything you do
Congrats... you showed me how you dont need to be skinny and lose alot of weight to be a great runner... Im a soldier and you know running is life when you are in the military. I have always been into bodybuilding and powerlifting and i struggled to get myself to run under 13mins for a 2 mile apft... Watching your videos over the years motivated me 2 years ago to go one more everyday I ran morning and evening 3 miles each run... Kept the diet the same and my bodybuilding routine the same. I crushed it on apft... and continued crushing every physical duty that entire year. I fallen off due to the pandemic and all the restrictions... but since the start of this series I been falling back in line. Your constant grind is motivating and it shows that you dont need to be a skinny twig to run or be great at running or anything in general cardiovascular wise... Currently my 2 mile timing is 15mins at 240lbs by the gods I will get that to 13mins again and show these young guys that your mind and body has no limits when you push yourself... by going one more every damn day. Keep it up you are helping alot of people you dont know. Congrats again on the sub 3.. you worked fucking hard for it.

This is absolute goals. Piece perfect set up and collection. Stuff we dream of but what I've learnt is please don't let the desire to get started and lack of available funds put you off. I've been training for a tri on a £150 bike with no gears and £30 ASICS I got in the sale. I won't break records but I just completed my first Duathlon. My training cost £0 as I did it all outdoors. Some cheap Speedo gear and some local pool access and it's onto the Tri.
Inspiring beast! His coaches have probably been telling him this for years but stop lifting, drop 20-30lbs and you’ll run < 2:30 marathon, < 9:00 Ironman.
Solid gear! I have a similar set up... my kids use my gym a lot, love seeing them use it. I'm sure you will love seeing your kids use your gym too. Keep grinding

Your physique has very much changed through that prep. You look like an extremely healthy and capable athlete compared to before - when you were rather bulky. Its a great motivation to work for performance rather than looks:)

Love the videos and following! Swap out the black helmet and tri suit for white helmet and upper half on the tri suit to keep you cooler. Helps for high volume salty sweaters!
Just ordered some G1M to help with my prep for my first Ironman at Cairns Australia in June. Have been avoiding due to cost but I guess there’s a reason cheap supps are cheap! Either my stomach hates then or they do nothing for me. Have used cluster dextrin on lifting days before but not for endurance yet. Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

I got the Polar OH1+ HRM. I comes with a clip for swimming goggles so you can measure HR from the temple. In some forums some say its best to fit on your thigh but its tricky if you use it under a wet suit.

If you wanna use fins in an efficient way then cut off the heel part and put them on the other way. That way the fins will be in a better angle.

I am an elite skimmer and you should really buy som shorter fins for example arena or tyr fins. Shorter fins is better for your joints

The HR strap is much more accurate than the wrist based monitor on the watch.
The HR chest strap monitor acts as an External HR Monitor and sends the HR data to the watch. Only one set of data is used.

My gear was a wetsuit, trunks, bike, shoes. I had a towel, didn’t wear goggles, bike came with a water bottle and a bottle of Advil from Costco.
