I got the Dyson based on your prior videos. It really does a great job. Replaced an old Ecovac Omni and this vacuums way better than that Omni did when new. I was on the fence based on no auto empty, and while I'd still prefer auto empty, emptying this is easy. And a benefit of no auto empty is that it never has a problem docking as it does not need to be super precise on docking. The Omni failed to doc at least 50% of the time.
So after a few weeks, my Dyson has decided is has no idea where it is. When I tell it to start cleaning a room, it gets lost, goes back to the dock, and says it could not clean. I'm going to try to reset the map, but if that does not work or if it reoccurs I'm sending it back. It's does a good job cleaning, but the software and navigation are poor.
Whelp, the Dyson is flat out garbage. Mine has not stopped working and Dyson won't provide any support or take a return. The machine kept getting lost and going into the wrong room. I reset the map, and not the machine won't create a new map. When I tried, it gets lost after a few minutes and returns to the base, and often can't even re-find the base. The mapping and navigation system on this is just terrible, and Dyson's support is amazingly worse. I would not buy this product for any reason.
Dyson is definitely a good company.. all their products are worth it. But 1,200 for just a robot vacuum is way too much. If it was 300 or 400 maybe it would be worth buying. Thank you for your review 👍🏻
at 400 $ your gettin robots that don't clean like the dyson does ... the dyson is picking up shit the other ones are missing i think 700 maybe 800 is the highest it should be
I think Dyson did a nice job on this one. I think once they have a second or third generation project it will be worth my $$$$. This looks like it is an amazing project and meets Dyson standards but needs more fixing on the robot side
I’m not a fan of the rollerbrush I have a Dyson v6 and the vacuum is already 8 years old and still going strong, the roller brush however I had already replaced 4 times because the motor I it died. On the cordless you can buy that part because you click it on, on this thing it’s in the robot it self. So a no go for me. And I’m a real Dyson fan with 2 corded vacuum, 1 cordless, airwrap, airstraight and a aircleaner. But this one I will pass. The heurist I sold because it thought it was falling down the whole time on my dark grey tiles 😂
If you are still getting that much dirt out of your carpets, one would wonder how many decades old your carpet is. Obviously, all of the other robo vacs you have tried are just battery operated brooms if the Dyson is extracting that much dirt and dust out of the carpet piling and padding. Maybe time to replace your carpets. I just want a vacuum that does one thing really good, without all the bells and whistles, that vacuums well and is easy to maintain. From all appearances, Dyson appears to meet that requirement. Good video series.
I can’t believe Duson would put this product out, it’s like 1/2 finished…..the suction and hardware is amazing but goddamn the navigation system is god awful, it makes roomba’s look like einsteins in comparison
They are reusing the navigation form the previous generation. Dyson keeps firing engineers and staff to keep absurd margins, its a shame because they could be an absolute leader in the industry but choose not to. I hope another company focuses on the actual vacuuming of the robots and not so much the useless features we are seeing on new models, Dyson is doing this part correctly but the markup and lack of basic features...
Hello, I cannot believe that your home could be so dirty. Did you clean your kennel? As well a kennel could also not be so dirty. There is something wrong.......
Oh no no no! The cyclone should never be washed out, that is why you cannot disassemble it. You can never really get it 100% dry and then you will get mud and mold in the machine and it can ruin the $1200 machine cause it might suck that through to the motor. Blowing it out is good enough if you have to clean it. All of this is explained in the manual. Almost all of these parts that are being cleaned are totally unnecessary as they do not affect the performance of the machine but merely cosmetic. The instructions say the only required maintenance, to wash the filter, remove hair wrap from the brush bar, and wipe the sensors down with a dry microfiber cloth.
@@JustADadyes, it's also the reason why the 'max' level is below the total capacity of the bin on the cordless vacuums, you can fill it but it will damage the unit over time and affect its lifespan, ideally you want to empty the bin frequently to avoid potential damage to the cyclone part

Thank you for the detailed video. Do enjoy your commitment to educate others on the most functional, efficient, products available.
The Dyson robot will prioritize certain areas based off past cleanings. That would most likely explain why it started in a different area in a room.
If it had an auto empty dock and better mapping (which could come with an update) this would be the best Vacuum on the market.
Right? It's almost frustrating to see

Could most of the rubbish be carpet fibres? I’m worried after a year the carpets will thin out and need replacing after a year or 2
@@wtfman1217 I’m already doing my carpets 7 years with a corded Dyson that is stronger than this one and it’s still looking great

this thing is cleaning like no other ... it may worth the price ... never seen a robot vac clean like this
Probably all carpet fibres lol
@@wtfman1217 he his pets too ... thats all the shit the other vaccums didnt get over the years ...
it needs a self empty bin
So... how does one empty this without getting dust everywhere for those of us with bad allergies?
good question. it might be hard for that
Do you sell your products? Also which steam mops are the best in your opinion

When you have pets yes than you have a lot of hair, every single day! The reason I still have my corded Dyson for the carpets.
Does it really not run by itself without an internet connection 😮.
I don't think so
Has their been a software update lately? How often does Dyson update its FW?
I can’t believe Duson would put this product out, it’s like 1/2 finished…..the suction and hardware is amazing but goddamn the navigation system is god awful, it makes roomba’s look like einsteins in comparison
The dock without an auto empty is what keeps me away. Its cleaning power is amazing but I don’t want to manually have to empty it every time.
he said they sent out software upgrades. i wouldn't care cuz its really cleaning
Totally agree worst navigation ever

Great review like to see how the dreame or roborock how much they pick up in your house in a 30 days
You have so many vacs (I’m jealous, my wife would kill me). Do you sell any of them after you used and reviewed them?
give some away on my facebook group page and donate some
Is it okay if it sucks up water accidentally?
And it’s not lint? That’s crazy! What kind of normal vacuum have you been using? I wish I ordered this now instead of the Roborock Curve
Why does every other vacuum reviewer hate this vac?
at first it was hard to use, but it has gotten better with time, like a fine wine

yeah I was wiping my eyes for about an hour after this
the amount of dust that spewed back into the air when you emptied that dustbin is horrible.

its real, we should vacuum more I guess

is the cyclone the plastic part in the bin with all the holes?
@@JustADad I believe so. It's the nickel part at the top that has the red handle on it that the air goes through.
