Good Review: Just need to mention a few more features...All Wheel Drive versus 4-H is a must. Torsen Diff; reinforced high strength steel frame; other mentions might include: Lane Assist feature; 360 camera makes parking in town too easy; blindspot monitor on truck and trailer feature; adaptive cruise; heated rear seats; etc. Bottom Line: Nothing out there from ANY automaker comes close to the full package that this Beast offers for the price! I’ve had mine since July and it takes a while just to realize the features and capabilities and I take it in the mud, sand, hills, and drive it to work daily looking forward to the commute!

I purchased that identical truck January 21st, 2018. It is everything you described and more. My ruby red mistress. Added a spray in liner, tonneau cover, vent shades, Weathertech mats front and back.

Beautiful truck and the technology is incredible. Ford hit a home run on this one. HOWEVER the price tag is going to be high. I would rather someone else pay for the depreciation and buy it used in a few years.

Resale value is very high. Just look at the used 1st Gen prices. Don’t expect a huge depreciation in the first 3 years.

This is the most bad ass truck on the planet. Gives most G-Wagons and Range Rovers a run for their money. Although it would be pretty cool to see a baja Range Rover straight form the factory! Also, I wish this truck came in Caribou brown like the 2017 Lariat. I feel like the goldish-brown would compliment this truck very nicely with the black Ford grille.

Raiti's Rides the coolest truck you can purchase from factory. NOT the coolest truck. Or bad ass. Or amazing...... A BDS suspension upgrade with fox coilovers on any high end truck puts this truck to shame. But people can't finance it so it's normally out of their reach. Truck is to light to stick in harsh conditions and a LOT of owners are saying so. Its an eco boyz play toy.

I own a 2014 raptor and the biggest hater comment is the price. Yes it is expensive and yes it is more truck that I will ever need, therefore it is the only truck I'll ever need. Till the wheels fall off!!!!

The LED"S on the mirrors aren't for forward lighting. The spray light to the left and right of the truck. Once you drive forward, they turn off. They're more for puddle lighting than anything else. They can also be used to blind your passenger as they approach the truck.

the spotlights are best for night driving in reverse in the rain. If I come home in the dark shaded driveway with trees and no house lights, I cannot see a thing. mirrors too rainy and not enough light, I turn these on and it helps me navigate in reverse a lot easier. Sure I can back up in the dark, but its nice to see where your at and going to. Also used them after work, I went to the store late afternoon to get dirt on sale to fill bad spots in my yard, it got too dark before I was done. The leds and bed lighting button gave decent light to finish.
I didnt think much of the feature with my xlt initially, but its something you could need or use and not know it.
You forgot to address the B&O infotainment... absolutely love my Raptor.

Fully decked out version of the Raptor cost close to 70 grand for a truck is prob to swallow.
I think most of us forget Newton law of motion that it torque is what helps gets the 2.2 tons truck to move. Without torque, we cant even start moving. And damn at that 0 to 60mph time. Very few trucks could have such crazy acceleration. The V8 has the horsepower but lack the low rpm torque which the V6 3.5L twin turbo has peak torque at 3500rpm which is great for hauling a huge trailer. And this is the same V6 engine which powers the Ford GT 2017.
The 10 speed is def a nice thing to have for city driving. Although purist would love to have a 6 speed manual, a hi/ lo gear selector and a 4x4 diff lock out.
I kinda surprised it has racing shocks in the rear. Usually you think trucks would only use leaf springs. A nice touch.
Too bad this truck will be limited to 44 mph as it will be classed as a goods carrying vehicle where I live if they ever have a right hand drive version.
Also the price of the truck will cost at least 3 times more than in the USA due to taxes. The Ecoboost 2.3L Mustang which is the 2016 model cost an eye watering 260 grand here and the 16 GT is easily over 300 grand. So i expect the Raptor to be excess of 300 grand.

Raiti, I really love that Ford Raptor you know. Though here in my country we have the Ford Ranger mostly, in it's various models. But hey, with our terrain and how we live our lives here, trucks are the real deal. However I wonder if South Africa have the Raptor because they do sell Right Hand models there. We share the southern border, I am in Zimbabwe and we are their Northern neighbours. You should come visit the Victoria Falls Raiti and probably take a ride in our wild game reserves, most probably in a Raptor. Kkkkk kkkkk

So is there a distribution box in the engine compartment that matches the switches in the cab, so that you can just plug in the various lights that you may want? Or, do you have to buy an "sPOD"? To do the same thing.

Can you do a video on where a person with a bunch of auxillary lights can plug in the lights, instead of trying to move massive strands of wires. Everytime I see a video that says a great thing about the auxillary switches and how the wires can just plug in, they go onto something else, not elaborate on where one would plug these wires in, so that the lights work.... Thanks....

NO... It's not plug and play. There are two sets of wires. powered and non powered. There are also 3 different amp limits on these. 5, 10, and 15 amp fused. I did install 6 Rigid cube lights. The wires are taped up and hard to find. Best to watch some vids about it before trying to tackle it yourself.

Johnny it’s a base model. I would assume you would have to order it because everyone that I’ve seen on a dealer’s lot has options. Same issue with the Porsche Cayman and Boxster!
You really cant compare a full size truck to a pint sized one. A base 55k raptor is still a lot more truck that the TRD pro at 42k.

Do you need carbon fiber...no. Do you want carbon fiber.....yes.
I had both.... Save the money and stick with the leather wrap. The carbon fiber shifter heats up too much and you can put that grand towards those wheels which are an option.

The only problem with that automatic start stop is that you cannot permanently turn it off every time you start the truck it is on and you have to manually turn it off every time
I totally understand where you are coming from! From what I understand if Ford made that feature with the ability to permanently deactivate it then they would lose the benefit that they. get from the EPA.

I just drove the Raptor this past weekend, and the F150 Platinum. I love the looks of the Raptor as it’s totally badass, but the ride in the Raptor was hugely disappointing. The suspension and the tires give this truck one of the harshest rides I’ve ever ridden with. Some would say that’s to be expected to with a truck like this, but I can’t justify it for $70K. Most people that buy a truck like this don’t take them off the road so it’s a complete waste of money to buy the Raptor unless you plan to spend most of your time off-roading with it. For everyday driving the Raptor is not an ideal truck to own at all. It’s rough ride and soft brakes are such a disappointment. Those two cons are too significant to ignore from my personal point of view. On the other hand, I Love the F150 Platinum! The ride is so much better than the Raptor and all of the creature comforts are comparable. I know there’s a loyal following for Raptor lovers, but I guarantee you that most people will pick the F150 if they do a comprehensive driving test in both trucks.

My God... I totally disagree. I'm on my 2nd Raptor. (2018 Race Red) and it is hands down the most comfortable riding Truck I've owned. I had a 2016 F-250, 2017 Platinum, 2018 Gray Raptor... I was amazed at how well this truck handles the daily drive. Maybe the one you had wasn't up to par. One more point that Raiti can't give an opinion on since I'm from the North East, it's a BEAST in the snow. Better than my Platinum, 250, Bronco, Subaru and wife's BMW. If anyone is wondering.... I get 14 around town and 19 on the Hwy...

It's coming back. Ford has already mentioned the V6 has caused a decrease in Raptor sales and a lot of discontent among its enthusiasts. It will be getting their new 7.0 427 so keep holding off! V6 fanboys can say "but its faster!" all they want, sales show its not liked. Plus, I would hope a forced induction, twin turbo engine would out perform a naturally aspirated engine with old school technology still rocking 2 valves per cylinder...

Luis Padilla I totally understand! Look at at Toyota, Honda, Subaru three great brands that build great vehicles and their warranties are only 3 year 36,000 miles.
Toyota and Honda are not over $60,000. Chevy gives you 100,000 miles. Am Ready to buy a new truck but if am not sure what to go with Chevy,Dodge and Ford are on My list but Ford"s warranty holds me back. Good looking truck.
ford and chevy have the same B2B warranty. 3/36. Maybe higher on the powertrain. But bumper-to-bumper they appear to be the same.

Power train includes,Transmission,Motor and Suspension. This is the most expensive to repair and the most important to me at least.
Do not buy unless ur rich and can afford it, otherwise ur buying liability. Just a little wisdom words for you whose already thinking of taking out a loan to buy this biggest monster LIABILITY! If u can afford the payments, then u rather invest it in some kind of Roth IRA or mutual funds.

All sources and hints are pointing at a BIG maybe for 2019 but more than likely the 2020 model. The suspicion is also that the new GT500 is receiving the same engine with some different tuning. Ford hasn't made an official statement yet but they might as well have. If they don't, the TRX is going to sweep the floor with the Raptor. 37s, V8 making mid 500s on HP with the option of the Hellcat engine making just over 700hp. Ford will really have to try and start selling the whole better MPG thing if they want the Raptor to sell at that point lol

It`s not going well with the dealership and Ford, they are passing me around like a ping pong ball specially when it comes to their service loaner. My truck has been in the dealership for 2 weeks and they want me to wait for 2 more weeks. According to the service manager if the new engine is mounted the engine`s warranty won`t be starting at 0 but instead it would just resume from my original mileage. Does it make any sense? And theres more unbelievable nonsense coming from them.
Kotevee K that is so terrible. I feel your pain. The mileage for the warranty should be set to ZERO with a new engine. Have you tried calling Ford and getting some movement going there?
I would argue it is not. it costs too much. second, it is purpose built for baha. power wagon out tows, and out crawls it. its too wide. it is slower than the Shelby f150. so, no, it is not the best money can buy, unless you want to baha race.

Actually the power wagon DOES NOT out crawl it. Just watch the crawl competition on TFL truck between the Raptor and the power wagon. Power wagon gets stuck because it's heavier. Just facts. Not to mention if you wanted speed you can always upgrade the engine and turbos to surpass the Shelby. And it would cost just as much as a Shelby does brand new. Ford raptor still best overall truck. No doubt

Cameron Woody , The video I am referring to was done on the ike gauntlet. The power wagon also had its front and rear lockers engaged and it got stuck. The raptor then went over the exact same spot and made it up

Unfortunately the word FORD at the front and back is so big. It isn't a brand name any more. It is an advertising tool. I believe we as customers must appeal to FORD to charge them for this advertising tool. Yes I am serious. FORD is so so big to be as a logo or a brand. I believe FORD is misleading their customers and use them as advertising tools. Thank you
