    "A little bit of effort, but the effort is Well Rewarded." Here is why Jay Leno is such a great car person. Totally relatable and totally on the same page. If you know, you know. And God bless him for that! Cheers y'all!

    Back in 1987 these were around $25,000. I was looking to get one, then the prices started to shoot up, I ended up with a Euro spec 1969 Maserati Ghibli, another "man's car", no power steering, very heavy clutch. But driving it was an event, it had a great V8 sound from its 4.7L quad Weber engine, it was visceral, actually set off car alarms as I drove past them. It's long gone now, good while it lasted.

    Reminds me of when a wonderful family friend came round to my house in their 365 GTC. It was red with a black interior, with those wonderful alloys you could get. Not quite as pretty as a 330 GTC but an exceptional presence. I was so delighted when he took me out for a high speed ride in it. A few weeks later, he came around again in a primrose yellow Mark II Jaguar E type coupe. Again another unforgettable car ride was offered. I was 14 and in awe. Thanks for the memories.

    "This is a car built by craftsmen" that captures the essence of that car. No I have never and will never be so fortunate to be able to drive a car of this status/pedigree but if I ever did I know I would be overwhelmed with the visceral joy that that experience would provide. This is a "drivers car", these cars are not easy and carefree, they demand your attention and concentration, but when you are zoned in you feel all those thousands of independent parts working in a symphonic harmony, you feel it through your hunches and torso and ultimately through your heart. Forza Ferrari!!

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X ปีที่แล้ว

      As interesting and fun as it is, it is also aggravating and annoying at times. Obviously the 330 GTC is significantly easier to live with than the 250's, but it still have its issues. There are newer Ferraris that are very pure cars, the fact that a car is needy does not always make it better.

    I so love driving my NCRS Top Flighth 3 Star 1971 Corvette LT1 survivor - I have driven it for a few hours each of the last few saturdays. It has great road gearing with a 2.52 first gear and a 3.55 rear end = 3000 rpm at 65mph and it is extremely easy to drive off from a stop light.

    This is funny,I was telling my kids a similar thing about drivers of old super cars in the past.
    As a kid from the 70s,I would see a supercar and wow over it while admiring the driver for their strength and skill that was needed.
    But recently watched a driver steering her modern Lamborghini round a corner while holding a coffee in her hand and thinking how supercars are just shopping cars now.

    Those exhausts... 😋😄 Something I've always wondered about those twin oil fliters on Ferraris; does the oil not go everywhere when you service them? And when you refill after service does the oil not take ages to actually get into the filters? I'd have thought their position would be a sure way to get airlocks. Looks very cool mind you.

    • @blackdog850

    • @robsteele7140
      @robsteele7140 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The oil filters have standpipes so they stay full when the car is off, or when you take them off. With an oil change you can fill them fairly full before putting them back on. The red ones on this car are Baldwin, a very common choice for Ferrari owners. If you tip them too much on removal they will spill.....

    Was that a fine British Range Rover with it's Emergency Flashers in the middle of the road, imagine that. The Ferrari looks tiny in comparison.

    Compare this classic style icon to the new Purosangue, that new Mazda CX30 looking thing. Taking a corner in this machine is all driver's skill, the SUV is two ton of computer controlled mechanics who do the cornering. The Purosangue has no real driver, only passengers.
