I'm a mobile player and it's nice to finally hear someone talk the performance issues of this game on this platform. I'm using the same phone in playing Genshin for three years, but the gameplay is not as smooth when I play WuWa. I tried all sensitivity combinations available, but I still get annoyed of my characters' movement. What I hate the most is when I'm engaged in combat or there are enemies in front of me, my Heron and Rider echoes would fly away and ride away instead of using their combat skills. The dodging and parrying were also sometimes frustrating because even though you anticipate the attack of enemies, I always feel like the registration of my input is delayed. My ping is fine, so I share the same sentiment in this video. But even with these issues, I still enjoy playing the game. I was grinding so hard on the first two weeks, but now I realized how my pacing should be like and that's what Mr. Tash said here.
Agree! On my phone I can't even see which items are pickable, I have to run into everything and then it turns out it's some normal flower you can't pick up
Like someone in twitch chat said: There should be a way to convert blue and purple tuners to gold. They become redundant RIDICULOUSLY quick. I don't think I even used them at all because I started getting 5 stars so quick. Edit: I just saw the update notes and boi… oh boi… boi, did they listen and go above and beyond. The devs are so much better than genshin devs it’s actually crazy 💀
@@AnonWalrus Yeah, while purples are still good for off-teams or such as in teams you don't wanna overly invest in, the blue ones are utterly crap after a while in. Just it takes quite some time before one build teams that way too due to.. waveplates but eventually. I'm getting burned out on games with waveplates/resin and this game, while it was more generous than genshin we are now at the point where it's pretty samey. Also I'm getting burned out on these games. I just want new characters but I'm not willing or even capable of paying 200 euros for every character. Yeah no bonuses or 100% winning. It could even be more expensive if one fails every 50/50.
@@dongarippo7279 I honestly don’t think I want to play both anymore. I’m waiting to pull furina and to see Genshin endgame mode. Then I’ll choose one. I really don’t like Genshin for only adding endgame because of wuwa (Genshin we’re definitely not releasing anything if it wasn’t for wuwa). They don’t care about the player base like wuwa does.
I've said this alot on reddit. Alot people FOMO'd and burnt all of their resources trying to clear end game as soon as possible. When they figured out they didnt have enough resources at UL35, people complained. Its almost as though people forgot what a gacha game was and its a marathon, not a sprint. Especially, the fact that you can do up to Holo difficultly 5 without whaling in the game. We need a console release asap though.
I login and have still enjoy farming because it's not something I made mandatory the game hasn't made itself impossible to me, if I desperately want to get better damage against holograms it'll ruin the overworld where fights will be too easy and it'll just make it boring for me I like the grind and working towards a goal Outside of the echo farming Data bank level 23 is guaranteed 5 star but the drop chance never changes I hope in 1.1 you can turn echoes into tuners in some way in the future
This is the best take I’ve ever seen. Here’s basically my experience with Wuthering Waves. My biggest concerns with Wuthering Waves is because the four-star weapons are very limited with what’s good. If your F2P and have horrible luck on Gacha, you are essentially gonna get screwed over. Especially in the later stages. Like I used a four star weapon on my Jiyan. The difference between the four star weapon and when I got his signature weeks later, is like night and day it’s very shocking in a good way cause you feel good that you got the weapon and it’s so much better. But when you step back and really take a look. It’s also very worrying at the same time. Because especially for the tougher bosses, you will struggle with it for quite a while. Yes a large part of it is skills, knowing the combos dodging all that stuff which is fine. But as a mobile player who can’t afford a PC due to how expensive parts are. It’s not easy, it’s like every time I dodge my character doesn’t or its delayed and the bosses are able to hit me and sometimes I time it perfectly but get hit with the second attack from the combo because of Latency. but When you combine the issues with Latency in combination with the horrible camera controls on mobile and how even with lock on it's not always perfect. It’s extremely Frustrating. Echo exp is also a big thing as well because even if you have the skills. If your echos aren’t good and levelled up. you do notice the difference in power. Overall, I’d probably give the game a 6. It has the bare bone structure to be good and I will stick with Wuthering Waves. But especially for me because I’m on mobile there’s still so many issues. It’s not fun to play especially every day. Especially as I get closer to 40. I think I’m only 3000 experience away. If I do my dailies today and a few bosses, I’ll level up. But I don’t wanna do it Because I don’t feel I’m ready. I’m still trying to get used to the combat. But to my credit, The fact I’m almost union level 40 I think speaks volumes to what I’ve already been able to achieve, especially because combat systems like wuthering Waves tend not to be my favourite when it comes to mobile. So the fact that Wuthering Waves did it in a way where I find it entertaining I think it’s a good thing. But I do worry for the games future because it’s had such a rocky Start that if 1.1 doesn’t nail it home. They’re going to lose a lot of players and mobile players especially because if they don’t receive the optimizations they need to play the game. Wuthering Waves effectively could lose a huge part of their player base. This game was clearly designed with PC in mind not really with mobile and it shows with the performance/optimization issues.
This game also has a "Memory Leak" issue. It does not clear Ram. It goes up and up and uses almost 12GB of my 16GB ram in addition with VRAM 4-5GB. This is insane!. Even Cyberpunk does not need this much resource. Currently at UL41 and I might quit if the issues doesn't get fixed in 1.1.
@@Arashi257 I played Ghost Of Thushima, RDR2, Cyberpunk and many more titles. NONE were this resource hungry. I run genshin on highest settings at 60fps and no fps drop. This thing can barely do 60 at medium settings. I don't know man its so furstrating.

As a Genshin day 1 player, exploration never got boring to me. Not in Genshin, neither in WuWa. I have every area in both games at 100%, this type of exploration scratches my itch like no other game does. As for the holograms, I beat all D6 Holograms with the same units you have Tashed man. I'm not a whale, I only have the monthly pass. Far from godly rolls on echoes either. You absolutely can beat D6 with your account Overall, really liked your review, hope you keep up with the game, love your coverage
His issue wasn't with the Holos but with ToA where level 70 characters (without whaling) simply do not put out enough damage to finish the highest stages in time even with perfect play.
Yea after watching Rex coach Pokke on Tempest 6 hologram yesterday I realized it's all skill. He went from skill issue player to crushing lvl6 with Danjin in 1 stream
In genshin the exploration wasn't boring just very slow I liked the variety but traversing after you got all the chests was so painful for my dopamine deficient brain When sumeru came around I gave up after doing Aranara quest then I unlocked Fontaine and I liked exploring again and then I got bored and quit the game Its got a lot of variety but after I played Wuwa I don't think I'll ever enjoy genshins exploration again Even Breath of the wild has systems to make it more fun and interesting Genshins world copies a lot from it but none of the good aspects I think azure Promilia will deliver more on a replayable open world for me personally wuwa does that too
Great review Tash man... As a mobile gamer :- I have gotten 18 crests in the tower of adversity... Completed all the holograms up to diff 5... Exploration all 100% except for Jinzhou and Desorock Island which are both at 99%... I think the game is great but yeah I've run out of content pretty fast... Now I have nothing to do except for using my daily stamina...
Very unbiased review. I enjoyed the combat too and was actually amazed at how engaging it was but I absolutely need a good story to engage with the game . I'm glad others are enjoying the game and I hope WuWa succeeds.
One thing I want to point out mtashed. You CAN see if a enemy is attacking off screen. There are arrows that blink red when a off screen enemy attacks. God of war has the same system
He doesnt mean about the indicator, what he was refering to was when you are fighting multiple enemies and targeting the boss in front of you, your character will aim the dude behind lmao
To be honest that was my first complaint originally while I was playing I obviously have less hours than Mtashed but I've gotten use to judging enemies attack patterns when offscreen Why? Well I'm not playing the game like genshin, I have hundreds of hours in genshin and basically my routine strat was spam buttons and win In this game if you only spam and don't react to the scrub mobs you'll take damage and blame the game for not being patient However if the issue is making the indicator more visible then I'm all for it especially on mobile it'd be better if there was an option to make the screen tint or flash the edge if you're about to be shot at so you can dodge
The biggest issue for me is the performance. I get a ton of stuttering, especially in the open world, it's really not optimized well. I tried a ton of things to fix it, I ran on the lowest settings, I disabled DLSS, I added some entries to the engine.ini file, and nothing helps the stuttering. I really hope they fix the performance because Genshin, HSR, and ZZZ all run flawlessly on my machine, and if this experience continues for me, I don't know if I'll keep playing the game long term.
@@susbedo9258 True, I was searching Reddit for solutions and it seems to be a common issue for many people. Most likely a shader compiling issue along with Unreal Engine being unoptimized.

@@zap7737 this guy spent more time on playing the game, thus more time to see the good and bad. So I to listen to this guy more than a review made by IGN. A lot of players do not even trust that channel for their reviews.
overall good review bro. good points have been mentioned. Personally, I love the wuwa game it is cool. came a bit early need more polishing and I have a good feeling about the game future. Good work, shout out to all CC out there for ww
Fair review, i agree with a lot of your points. I think it's obvious that this game is not ready to release. A lot of bugs that we see are result of rushed rewrite after the latest beta test, too much info dumping, localization issues, low quality VA directing, and more importantly performance issues. I think one more beta and then release on late Q4 2024 would be perfect. But i'm not part of dev team, i don't know their budget situation. This game have been on development for 2 years i think. Probably they only have 2-3 months left on their budget before they have to cash in. And cash in they did, i heard they already bagged 100Mil and more to come. They took a huge risk releasing a half baked game, this could have been dead on arrival. Now that they got their budget back, i hope they improve greatly from here.
I've been really enjoying the game in the past 2-3 weeks , especially the combat , it feels so fun and engaging when you have to pay attention not just to your skill/liberation cooldowns , but alao the concerto /forte of you characters, while also being careful of enemies attacks , and wait for the parry chance ... I'd personally give the game 8.5/10 , would be 10/10 if it wasn't for some bugs (i personally haven't encountered many , but i know some people did) , and i hope the Devs keep working on the game and making it even better
I think the reason why 4 star weapons has a big gap to 5 stars weapon is because they really want to force you into pulling for weapons, since weapon banners are 100% guaranteed and there is no 50/50, they need to make a way to still make more money off of it.
100% guaranteed promotional banner is tricky. Most 4* weapons are pretty bad on purpose. Kuro is aiming on players spending money to get a relatively easy to pull Gatcha 5* weapon to compensate for poor F2P weapon options . There’s no many ways for F2P to get free promotional weapon banner pulls. For most , there will be only the 6 store monthly . Which means about one free promotional 5* weapon per year . Or sacrifice astrites that usually would be used to get5* characters.
@@MariaRodriguez-hb4ixthe thing is, in this game having a lot of characters at a certain point won't be beneficial anymore so, getting a character and their weapon might be the way to go in this game even if you end up having less character, and you still have the standard 5* weapons which are actually pretty good and you'll get for free, pulling in the standard banner for characters is stupid anyways if what you care about is spending your resources optimally.
This is a very fair review, not sure why other people are saying "mTasHed, wE dont Have the time To Grind liKe yOu". I play atleast 15 mins and up to 2 hrs everyday if I have the time and I can relate and understand a lot of these issues.

At ul 44. Playing about 4h a day cuz I work n married xD. Stopped playing Genshin at at 60, cuz wuwa has everything we ever wanted, also thanks so much to cover this game, hope U keep it up n running
YESS!! The visual clutter problem, idk how they could fix it since toning down the effects would make the game look less engaging, but I think having the option to turn off/on the damage numbers is a good start. Forgot to mention this on the survey.
Not to sound disrespectful but man you've been speed running content like crazy, even re rolling for hours an avg player won't have the same amount of progress as you do, by the time they reach that threshold a new patch will be out and they'll have even more to do, like 1.1 is only like 2 weeks away, just saying not everyone grinds games especially gacha games like you do.
Wrong i play the game around 1 or 2 hours a day and it's already finished. There's nothing to do now except waiting for the energy and playing a little event
@@azoozksa-op8rnoh you have done the data bank, 100% or at least 90% of all areas, done all the quests, collecting all the cubes, build your teams, beaten all holograms, and tower of adversity 100%? Good job
for me dodging is consistent ... but parrying is inconsistent ... mostly because different chars have different parrying weights like encour wont parry until the 3rd hit of her basic attacks where as a char like rover or calcharo can do it on their first ... or a gunner cant parry at all
@@toukoenriaze9870it's not really like "inconsistent" it's more like "different" for each character. Like jiyan ult will make his basic super easy to parry because of multihits, or rover is easier to parry than others because its fast or calcharo because of its reach. I will say that the parry system of this game is very well done, its not like u click and it automatically gaurantees you the parry. Its not how it works, its different, the parry depends on the reach, pace, animation, etc. It incentivize you to learn each character and to feel how they work and that's absolutely fantastic!

I think you had valid and relatable points and experiences from the game, but something that came to my mind as you were talking about the end game content and comparing to HSR and Genshin. Something that would have been interesting to look at would have been where each of these gacha games stood with end game content options at their launch 1.0 versions. as well as HSR has done with theirs, it's also futher ahead with its patches, so comparing their end game content for a game which is still at 1.0 isin't neccesary fair yet. We can definetly point out things what we hope them to do, which you did bring up as well.
My biggest gripe is that, despite everything, the gameplay loop is the exact same as in Genshin. Log in, do dailies, spend waveplates and log out. Endgame is also just Tower/Abyss since it's the only mode that resets, Holograms and Illusive Realm are a one-time thing. Content might reward skill more, but is a damage check nonetheless. Sure, the echo farm is less miserable because you can farm them without the need of stamina. However, it doesn't matter if I have 1 or 50 echoes with the correct mainstat sitting in my inventory if I can only upgrade half of one per day. I know this is a Gacha game and how they work but I still expected a bit more replayability and challenging endgame content. The amazing combat can only keep me engaged for so long.
Getting the correct echoes with the correct mainstat as well as substats is quite easy in WuWa. I am currently rebuilding my Tartaglia from HoD set to Nymph's Dream set. I am still missing an atk% time piece and crD circlet with good substats and I've been doing this domain for almost 3 months now. Mind you, WuWa needs 5 piece to activate the entire set effect while Genshin only needs 4 pc. Yeah, almost 3 months of running the Nymph's Dream Domain and I only got 2 decent(not the best) pieces. I prefer the infinite echo farming system in Wuwa than the limited artifact farming in Genshin.
@@I_Love_Plump_Grandmas It was one of the reason i quit genshin when 4.7 launched. i farmed for Navia's set since her release . 4.6 passed and my Navia is still rocking 52 crit rate. To build a new character, it takes months to build. But there is something i would also like to say is , the characters that i built within three days or four because of pre-farming have bored me the most. Like i will pull for the character, build it within a week and then bench it the next day. Feeling same in WUWA tbh. Like my yinlin, calcharo are built real good within days. My yinlin is rocking 70 percent crit. Her echoes are good. And i have already( not completely) stopped playing her( Like focussing on other characters that i haven't built). Many of my characters are decently built such as calcharo , rover, jianxin , mortefi .SO i dont know what route the devs should take to keep the players engaged. I still think if the devs become very generous, burnt out phase is going to come sooner than expected unless they keep adding new good combat bosses every patch.
@@Jstanillusion For me, my target is clearing the tower of adversity for more astrites and challenging myself with the hologram bosses. My Calcharo, Jiyan, Mortefi, and Verina are well built now but I've never stopped playing them. I really can't build more units right now due to the lack of waveplates to farm for their ascension materials. I just got Yinlin and her weapon, I'm currently hunting for her gold echoes. One of the many things alot veteran Genshin players didn't like about genshin is the lack of a combat-based end game content. Thankfully, Wuwa has this type of end game through tactical hologram. Based on my observation, it really didn't matter if there was combat-based endgame content in WuWa coz a lot of genshin players just dismiss it. Genshin players only care about the combat-based end game when it didsn't exist but when it exists, they will just ignorr it and find more things to complain about. I now understand why Mihoyoverse originally made a statement that they're no longer planning to add more end game contents similar to the spiral abyss coz it triggers anxiety and burnout among players. I see Mihoyoverse's reasoning now through Wuwa. Perhaps some players are not built for hardcore gaming. Personally, I'm enjoying the grind in WuWa, I am an MMO player and the grind in WuWa is nothing in comparison to the MMO games I've played.
@@I_Love_Plump_Grandmas so true! I too have seen GI players completely dismiss the combat related hard boss fights. They compare hologram bosses with their overworld boss lol! Since this is a skill based game,my aim in playing this game is to get so skilled that I can fight every available boss without being hit a single time and no retries accepted. No revival food accepted .So I practice my skills every single day. That is my mentality in these types of games ( skill based). Had a similar mentality in sekiro. People forget that this is also a skill based game and not just a dps check. In future there will be new hard bosses for sure. They can keep sharpening their skills. Some might say they have already beaten the hologram bosses and their is nothing to do. But how many retries did it take to beat the boss? Can they do it in a single try?
the performance and heat up is because they are using UE4 ... which has good graphics but not great performance ... it happens on pc and mobile but its even worse with mobile
Hey man, just wanna let you know, if you want to lower the visual clutter, there is literally a setting that lowers skill effect particles. Hope that helps.
one thing ive noticed when it comes with parrying windows is that its hitbox accurate with vary fast moving enemys as the same hitbox as the damage would land. the main issue why it can feel vary bad is there isnt any priority over parry or not parry in such a small window that ping can effect if it is part of it. some games create extra hitbox with all the attacks as a extra window to solve this, this is actually the case in breath of the wilds flurry rush system, holy hell is that flurry rush hitbox huge. well others give priority. so one thing that ive found out about illusive realm is when trying to get the have the final upgrade for the turtle echo, glacio is actually the lowest count of metaphors in the game mode at 39. ive had 5 fully completed max difficulty runs of literally unable to get 32 glacio because enough didnt show up, hell 3 of those runs the final shop didnt even have a single glacio metaphor left.
Exactly, i love that you don't just EQ and swap in this game , you have to pay attention to your characters forte bar (and concerto too) , even characters with offield damage like Yinlin or Mortefi want to spend some time on the field
Yes! And I love how we have to fill concerto energy and energy for the liberation. Cause that encourages us to use every single character and not go the genshin way of popping skill ult then switch.
The most complicated characters for forte are Calcharo and Sanhua and Aalto Taoqi is simple just parry while holding attack with skill up or wait for skill to expire and you can use her forte Its the slowest of all characters My favourite is Chixia because gun
yeah its a lot like honkai 3rd tbh and that was my favourite mihoyo game. huge fan of the fact that wuthering waves has something somewhat similar, it makes characters so much more interesting to play than just popping a few abilities for each character (plus every character having elemental basic attacks makes it even better).
@@LUCAS420BLZ Taoqi and Jianxin are pretty similar in their simplicity, it seems. I haven't given Taoqi much playtime, but your description of her playstyle is basic Jianxin gameplay.
I agree with your takes on animation canceling. I thought Calcharo was clunky when I first got him, but the more I play and learn where I can animation cancel, the more fun I am having. I feel like there is a lot of room to really learn how to play your teams properly.

The future is extremely bright, and I can for sure see them overtaking Genshin, and being able to somewhat compete with star rail, definitely will be top 2 every month in the future, with HSR being number 1. They just really need to fix the endgame and work on the story, I also find the music to be terrible.
I watch this review in the livestream, and F, the amount of Brain Rot Gacha players that keep yelling, "Quit, if you cna't play Gacha!" "Don't compare it with Triple AAA games." "This game is still 1.0!!" "It's called time gated feature" and etc. Mtashed are literally pointing out problems for a better gameplay. If it's truly changes, it benefits all of us "players". Yet those rats keeps defending this shitty pratices is beyond me. Keep it up tashs man. Love ur content!
Same corny type of player that defends the game regardless of the criticism. Wuwa players are acting like the same Genshin players whenever Mtashed was criticizing it early on. How ironic.
there are way too many people out there defending games for absolut wrong reasons. they are against productive criticism that could improve something solely because the game "is like that". Sometime people will defend bad ideas to the their death it's almost funny
For players who’ve never played a Gacha or this type of ARPG this hame feels great, specially barrier of entry for F2P, not to forget if you enjoy the game support it so the devs keep bringing good content
i agree with everything mrtashed said. i've been following him since monster hunter. we're a similar kind of gamer who likes progression and combat. and exploration in this game is kind of harder for me to enjoy since i've been playing many of this kind of open world, assasins creed series, the witcher, zelda botw totk, gta series, red dead, elden ring, dragon's dogma, genshin etc. i even have this same feeling when exploring ff7rebirth. its a type of exploration im really familiar with. you see, vanilla ice cream is not really bad but sometimes we need some sprinkle to spice it up. im looking forward to what wuwa has to offer in the future. also console release when.
I believe if there's one thing we can agree is they need to do something about the purple/blue turner. I have over one thousand of each and I can't even use it lmao
combat is client side so technically there 0 lag, if u dodge something and u got hit that means you did it too late or too soon unless theres some weird bugs if u do multiple things at once, so yeah its actually skill issue if u die in this game unless theres a very low chance to be a weird bug or not enough dmg to finish the fight in time
Just to point out.. Combat SHOULD be client side. But technically we won't know unless we see the code or we do some specific and difficult to control experiments to test it As someone who worked in quality assurance, I can confidently say that there will always be devs who don't design stuff properly, and testers/QAs who didn't spot such poor design problems because they tested in ideal conditions, or won't recognise the problem for what it is.
Yeah it’s unfortunate how many weathering waves content creators are shilling hard-core for the game. And they can’t seem to keep a certain other game out their mouth either. Like don’t throw stones when your house is made a glass. I’m waiting for the P5 release so I hope they’ve got this sorted out by then. If not the First descendants dropping so I might look at that. or Zendless zone zero which is getting a console release with PC.
i was sad the overdash club wasnt like the quest ... like it was a fun event for the 3 mins you play it but i want an event like that very first overdash quest where you were playing the floor is lava in town
This was actually a really well made review that I wished the devs would see. For me personally, the exploration felt fun but compared to games like genshin or hsr, the world just felt more "empty." Through the music, npc, story, it just feels like wuwa is a empty world that only follows the mc instead of being its own world with a story. Overall I still really like the game though so I really recommend people to play it.
It does a very poor job of making you care for the characters. The story is very meh so there is really nothing I see myself looking forward to personally. The characters have amazing animations though so that’s one thing. But the rest is just no. Even Yinlin effectively came out of no where and had no story relevance prior to
I think one thing overlooked and made tower of adversity feel not that great is the fact that nothing changed when the tower reset, same buffs, same enemies, everything exactly the same. Felt like a tower reset had no purpose and kinda of crazy to feel repetitive in the first month of a game
Dude, devs know mostly everyone had Jiyan and Yinlin so buffing those respective elements are beneficial. How stupid are you to actually expect a Havoc or Spectro buff in 1.0.
The thing with this type of mode is, aside from the rewards, it is used to promote the current limited banner characters. For example, HSR does that too with their MoC. As someone has said, it would not look good to have different elemental buffs when the current limited characters are aero and electro. So, expect the next rotation will have buffs on fusion and spectro damage when the next banners drop.
Please do this every patch man if it's not much work for you! It's good for the game and the community. Don't mind if we agree or disagree with your points. What the game needs is constructive and productive criticism. People shouldn't just dismiss criticism now that we have a game where the devs has a higher probability of listening to feedback and actually doing something about it. But on the same vain, people should be free to criticize the criticism. Not all feedbacks are good feedbacks afterall.
I focused all my resources on building Calcharo and Yinlin and I’m at the point where I’m out of resources but they are both built with 65-70 crit rate and 190-220 crit dmg. Now I’m just running tacets daily hoping to get some Spectro echoes for Jinhsi when she drops. All in all ive been fine with the progression, I know what a gacha brings, now I can focus on HSR 2.3 🥳
As far as the performance issues between WuWa and Ganshin are concerned it's game engine related, WuWA uses UE4 (which isn't optimized for mobile) while Genshin uses Unity (nearly EVERY mobile game is made in Unity and Unity is HEAVILY optimized for mobile).
Yes UE4 plays a big role in the optimization issue but unlike genshin where it's not their 1st time using that engine with lots of RnD, unity isn't even unity for them anymore, its like a new engine. Wuwa on other hand, its their first time using UE4, they don't have the time/resources yet to fully optimize the game. So I'll give them time to improve it more because they've done it already with pgr.
We might have some different perspective on the game because of how differently we play(I'm not a hardcore player like u) but man that's a really good review, best so far! I hope we can both see the game evolve together sir tash!

I swear the people that say wuwa has better music than genshin is just because they hate genshin. You see them in Tectone's chat but Im not saying it's his chat. That's the only argument Im completely against
finally a fair review of the game! of course some ppl will not feel some of the technical issues if they haven't experienced, but a lot of people have so why deny that there's issues..
"everyone will hit a point where you wont have anything else to do" ofc dude its 1.0 you need to wait, it was the same for hsr when it came out. if you grind the game ofc you gonna finish 1.0 fast af
Okay... Yeah. Mtash straight spittin' facts. Especially the Boss music comparison. i mean sure have the dubsteb for the grindable bosses, but gotta have something more for the final act or major story boss battles.
33:16 THANK YOU!! I got A LOT OF HEAT for even mentioning parry should be on button-push, not animations. Some characters have a really hard time to parry, UNIVERSAL mechanic should be UNIVERSAL for all characters, otherwise you're encouraged NOT to play certain characters that you might like.
THANK you for this video! Missing only the (STILL) locked keybinds issue, you covered all the points that I have issues with the game. Something is REALLY wrong with the dodge/parry system, this game should only be released with it working 100% perfect.
Honestly his echo explanation is pretty spot on to how I see it. I have to remind myself that most players have only ever played Hoyo games or no gacha at all. This game has some MMO elements in it as well with the depth of grinding which I enjoy since it breeds longevity. Frustration at times, but longevity and that's important. It boils down to people wanting everything too much and too fast. Such a great example to use how Genshin was at the start. Even having a match 4 piece 4 star Gladiator set would be top tier back then. I think the system was designed with patience in mind, but they underestimated how good their game was going to be and how many people would speed run it. A good review, hopefully now he can take a break lmao.
Agreed people speedrun it too much. I made the mistake of going too hard, too early, and now I feel like I'm struggling. Once I hit UL45, I'm going to take things slow and really savor this game, because I refuse to burn out until I beat that damn hologram.
had to argue with so manny people, like yes you dont have the best styats ever but look how quickly you have amazing stats on your character, i have 2 character with 200 crit damage and 60-90 crit rate. all my characters have 2 elimental type 3 stars most are decent substats ie atleast one crit roll, i have 4 total dps's and 2 suports/sustains all leveld and with good echos, yea im actually a little burned out from farming, that would be impossible in hsr and genchin in hsr im still strugaling after 3 months to get just a few characters to a good place. not to mention that sbest stats arnt the end all be all of this game, it innevitably comes down to skill.
Man the part where you talked about visual clutters causing confusion and pretty much block player's vision is so damn right. For me i think they need to add bloom slider for sure.
@@zap7737 We said the same thing about Genshin: "Surely they will add new endgame content!" "Surely the rewards will get better". So it's not that obvious. (I quit the moment the first year anniversary hit, saw things wasn't going to change... years later, I was 100% right)
@@johnribon2207yeah i mean at least genshin doesn't have technical issues the problem is, the core gameplay is trash mid term and the new endgame mode it's not gonna change that.
@@WhatssupYoo that just a moronic, chronically online take lmao. If we went by that logic, then no game would ever do anything lmao. Genshin is the exception, not the rule lmao. And it doesnt even apply to games withing the hoyo umbrella, considering every game they make, doesnt even follow that, besides genshin lmao. what a fucking idiot lol.
This is probably the most fair review of the game. For me the game is fantastic overall but agree they half-baked some features and performance could be better especially on mobile. I’m not a mobile gamer so it doesnt affect me but I acknowledge the issue and it affects the games revenue dramatically. I think the combat is still the best in its genre, the devs are generous, and proven they listen to feedback in the past so I hope they listen to this video too. Great review.
issue with your take is you expect there to be an infinite amount of echo xp because there's an infinite amount of echo availability. The availability of echo's does not justify an equal amount of echo exp that should be attainable. In HSR for e.g. you can get around 12 relics per day on average which is like 36 blue xp things, this "issue" people keep talking about is not an issue, it's just you running out of xp because you actually have gear to upgrade as opposed to not having the gear at all.
I'm glad i decided to take wuwa casually for now, I will go for end game once I have enough things to go around and things balance out. I don't really need to chase end game now when you can just go for it anytime. Also, I said this in other place but we need to be able to ride echos pls kuro
imagine they yoink some mechanics from palworld like for example if they were to take the idea of the genshin teapot ... but use palworlds base building mechanic where you put your teapot out in the open world somewhere and get a little area to build and make your chars that arent active do stuff and obviously mounts and glider pals but with echoes
amazing review, i agree with the game not feeling finished but i am very optimistic abt the future of the game. if they continue to take player feedback this game can possible be one of if not the best gacha game oat‼️
To me, the gameplay is amazing, the movement is also amazing, the exploration is great, and the story started a bit boring but ended up being amazing, so I have high hopes for it. The only thing I didn't like about the game was its music. Other than that, a solid 8/8.5 out of 10
great argument on echo farming part. I can build character way faster than genshin. Idk why there is argument that someone says that genshin system is better.
Echoe system is way better but the fodder in genshin are more accesible. You can literally farm artifacts in mobs and open world, the only problem in wuwa was the ITEM is always available but the materials to upgrade it isn and its finite. While in genshin the fodders are overwhelming, you can literally get it every stamina spent on the game except laylines, but hte ITEM is finite and locked behind stamina
Can you build characters way faster in genshin ? Are you sure about that ? Because as far as i remember you have to wait for AR 45 before even being able to farm 5* artifacts ! Which can take you at least a month , the same thing for HER While you can start getting gold echoes in Wuwa within the first week (with no refresh) I feel like some people expected to get their cracked genshin/hsr builds in wuwa too but within the first month lol and they got disappointed after realising that's not how gacha games work
@@TheLastAirbender3468 Genshin's issue is the procurement of good artifacts. Wuthering Waves' issue is the procurement of stuff to level the echoes with and unlocking their substat. It's just different game design choice that could always be mitigated whenever, depending on the devs' whims.
I have a good gaming PC but I often play on mobile for these games due to the easy accessibility and being able to play on work breaks. I definitely think there is a lot of room for improvement on the mobile camera and controls, and that your assessment of this is pretty on point. Still loving the game though even if it can be frustrating at times. I am hopeful they are going to work on improvements because the devs have been incredibly active up to this point.
When ghe tash man speaks he speaks volumes and i watched the whole video like damn! Kudos to teh devs tho coz they're listening and let's hope the game grows 💯
1 week f2p Lvl36 Jinyan + his weapon Yinglin + his weapon Calcharo + 5* weapon lustrous… Encore + 5* weapon Verina Lingyan O.O. And i still have about 4k astrite. Lol.
I have almost similar experience as yours, and still have around 17k asterites left lol. Got lucky with the limited and standard banners. Jiyan, Yinglin and their weapons in the first 10 pulls each (actually got a dupe for Yinlin's weapon). Then, another dupe for jianxin. No re-roll tho and only missing Encore and Lingyan.
It's sad that in the end no one can compete with Hoyoverse games, the resources, the polish, a better optimized game engine, the formula and the invested users are a difficult wall to overcome, also the mistakes that Kuro made by changing the entire story close to release I'm sure it made the dubbing and translations even worse. I hope CC and people continue playing, it still has a lot of potential, but everyone knows that more than half will drop it for ZZZ.
IMO Wuwa is better than Genshin in almost every area other than optimization/music. HSR is a gacha but totally diferent type of game if you know what I mean (turn based). People actually hyped for ZZZ (genuinely asking)? From what I've seen it looks kinda boring...
Its look less hyped than WuWa but its already in 42millions pre registers, also less hype is a good thing because less expectations... well i hope 1.1 solve a few issues so people continue supporting WuWa
"No one can compete with HYV games?" tbf, it's just your biased opinion, already quitting Genshin ever since 4.0 and genshin has no advantage over WuWa whatsoever except for music and performance. I enjoy combat in WuWa much more than Genshin's gimmicky elemental reaction, the movement in WuWa also feels more rewarding and satisfying. Exploration is much more easier and fluid in WuWa, im actually so done with how annoying Genshin's exploration is. The story are both mid, tho. and it's not really a comparision to ZZZ, ZZZ is HI3-like game. For players who are into open world, it's like HSR, not everyone is into this kind of genre.
@@mangshu21if you think it can't compete with genshin your just biased, genshin is not really such a good game long term, it's a new player bait and nothing more than that, once you are too invested in the game you feel like you don't want to quit even if you don't enjoy that much anymore.
I've been saying that I wanted the game pushed back, at least for a CBT3. As a PGR player I'd say if you stick with the game you'll see the huge growth in characters, story and direction, IF they stick with a similar mindset to PGR. But at the end of the day this is a live service gacha that is meant to be played as a side thing not as you're only thing. You will not just burn out if you try to make it your main thing, but it will also harbor misdirected resentment for a game you willingly chose to play, yet weren't keen enough to realize what you were fully playing/investing into.
I quit the game after two weeks. Just couldn't get into it, had way too many issues at launch that killed the excitement, and just didn't feel any excitement to explore the world. Happy people enjoy it
The game has a lot of potential and a good framework to use, but some issues just prevent it from being the best it can be. But I can at least trust Kuro as a game dev since they do acknowledge the issues head and publicly say how they will handle them if their Dev Notes are anything to go by. I still fully enjoy the game and will be my main game until the foreseeable future, that is unless Kuro does some major screw up where the game can't be redeemed.
I wouldn't be so sure, the gacha economy allows them to continuously put out more updates and add more content. If it wasn't a gacha it wouldn't be free to download and play and it'd STILL be riddled with microtransactions like suicide squad or Destiny
Srry mtashed but u not being able to dodge or parry is most likely a skill issue, i play at 170 ping and i can still parry and dodge diff 6 mephis so yeah...

We need a console release asap though.
yeah, the lack of self awareness by some of these people, is astounding. Also reddit is a cesspool and should only ever be laughed at.
I login and have still enjoy farming because it's not something I made mandatory the game hasn't made itself impossible to me, if I desperately want to get better damage against holograms it'll ruin the overworld where fights will be too easy and it'll just make it boring for me

Outside of the echo farming Data bank level 23 is guaranteed 5 star but the drop chance never changes I hope in 1.1 you can turn echoes into tuners in some way in the future
True bro they had to have actually just locked in and run through everything every single session
yes console release pls, my phone is on life support
okay, and who said that gacha games NEED a stamina system? can just remove it, they still have gacha, you dont need the shitty stamina
Interesting, I don't think I've seen it go beyond 3500 on mine
The max ram it's gone too on my pc is about 8gb.

This is based. I literally think tash pieces were amazing compared to mine and i am only left with mephis 6.

When sumeru came around I gave up after doing Aranara quest then I unlocked Fontaine and I liked exploring again and then I got bored and quit the game

@@reedsad4652 I'm just going off what he actually said
To be honest that was my first complaint originally while I was playing I obviously have less hours than Mtashed but I've gotten use to judging enemies attack patterns when offscreen
Why?
Well I'm not playing the game like genshin, I have hundreds of hours in genshin and basically my routine strat was spam buttons and win
In this game if you only spam and don't react to the scrub mobs you'll take damage and blame the game for not being patient
However if the issue is making the indicator more visible then I'm all for it especially on mobile it'd be better if there was an option to make the screen tint or flash the edge if you're about to be shot at so you can dodge
this is actually a good idea
you should give developers this feedback

The biggest issue for me is the performance. I get a ton of stuttering, especially in the open world, it's really not optimized well. I tried a ton of things to fix it, I ran on the lowest settings, I disabled DLSS, I added some entries to the engine.ini file, and nothing helps the stuttering. I really hope they fix the performance because Genshin, HSR, and ZZZ all run flawlessly on my machine, and if this experience continues for me, I don't know if I'll keep playing the game long term.

It incentivize you to learn each character and to feel how they work and that's absolutely fantastic!

a ton of nuanced takes in this. amazing review!
@@Jstanillusion
For me, my target is clearing the tower of adversity for more astrites and challenging myself with the hologram bosses.
You can try out the holograma the bosses gett very hard and can one shot you no matter whar type of gear you have.
This is why I like you.
You're very fair and reasonable unlike most of the people on either side of criticizing either genshin or wuthering waves.
Fantastic review
one thing ive noticed when it comes with parrying windows is that its hitbox accurate with vary fast moving enemys as the same hitbox as the damage would land. the main issue why it can feel vary bad is there isnt any priority over parry or not parry in such a small window that ping can effect if it is part of it. some games create extra hitbox with all the attacks as a extra window to solve this, this is actually the case in breath of the wilds flurry rush system, holy hell is that flurry rush hitbox huge. well others give priority.
so one thing that ive found out about illusive realm is when trying to get the have the final upgrade for the turtle echo, glacio is actually the lowest count of metaphors in the game mode at 39. ive had 5 fully completed max difficulty runs of literally unable to get 32 glacio because enough didnt show up, hell 3 of those runs the final shop didnt even have a single glacio metaphor left.
forte circuit is insane ngl ... it makes playing chars super intuitive reguardless of how complicated they become
The most complicated characters for forte are Calcharo and Sanhua and Aalto
Taoqi is simple just parry while holding attack with skill up or wait for skill to expire and you can use her forte
Its the slowest of all characters
My favourite is Chixia because gun
yeah its a lot like honkai 3rd tbh and that was my favourite mihoyo game. huge fan of the fact that wuthering waves has something somewhat similar, it makes characters so much more interesting to play than just popping a few abilities for each character (plus every character having elemental basic attacks makes it even better).
Thank You for bringing in the problems faced by mobile players.

The future is extremely bright, and I can for sure see them overtaking Genshin, and being able to somewhat compete with star rail, definitely will be top 2 every month in the future, with HSR being number 1. They just really need to fix the endgame and work on the story, I also find the music to be terrible.

It wil happpen when they iron out the issues because its harder to release hot fixes on console
@@TechyCatz yeah that means, the more need fixing the longer it takes.

But technically we won't know unless we see the code or we do some specific and difficult to control experiments to test it
As someone who worked in quality assurance, I can confidently say that there will always be devs who don't design stuff properly, and testers/QAs who didn't spot such poor design problems because they tested in ideal conditions, or won't recognise the problem for what it is.
😂😂😂 it seems u don't even play the game 😂😂. There are alot of bugs and touch lag and input delay even with good ping 😂😂

Absolutely not. Keep this away from the devs lmao.
I agree w the world being empty
I don't agree with the world being empty at all
Yep, super empty
It does a very poor job of making you care for the characters. The story is very meh so there is really nothing I see myself looking forward to personally. The characters have amazing animations though so that’s one thing. But the rest is just no. Even Yinlin effectively came out of no where and had no story relevance prior to
Love your takes. I'm playing on PC at home but playing on the S24+ at work has not been an issue. Thanks for all your help in this and HSR.
I think one thing overlooked and made tower of adversity feel not that great is the fact that nothing changed when the tower reset, same buffs, same enemies, everything exactly the same. Felt like a tower reset had no purpose and kinda of crazy to feel repetitive in the first month of a game
honestly genshin was like that too for the first few updates ... they only started actually rotating after like dragonspine
I think that's fine since most people don't even have lv70 characters yet
Dude, devs know mostly everyone had Jiyan and Yinlin so buffing those respective elements are beneficial. How stupid are you to actually expect a Havoc or Spectro buff in 1.0.
I don't think GI change it every reset too. at the very least they change only change it every first reset of every patch.

But at the same time, plenty of people have problems with Wuwa even on PC. While Genshin runs excellently on both Pc, and Mobile.
@@pepita2437 UE4 is known to be the worst engine for a good PC experience. It is referred to as Unreal Stutter Engine even on 4090s...

I hope The Game gets polished in the coming months or years.

In HSR for e.g. you can get around 12 relics per day on average which is like 36 blue xp things, this "issue" people keep talking about is not an issue, it's just you running out of xp because you actually have gear to upgrade as opposed to not having the gear at all.

great argument on echo farming part.
Which can take you at least a month , the same thing for HER
While you can start getting gold echoes in Wuwa within the first week (with no refresh)
I feel like some people expected to get their cracked genshin/hsr builds in wuwa too but within the first month lol and they got disappointed after realising that's not how gacha games work
@@TheLastAirbender3468 Genshin's issue is the procurement of good artifacts. Wuthering Waves' issue is the procurement of stuff to level the echoes with and unlocking their substat. It's just different game design choice that could always be mitigated whenever, depending on the devs' whims.

@@WhatssupYoo good joke.. have you ever played any game? it doesnt compete with 10 year old games let alone genshin lol

Happy people enjoy it
you should revisit it after they fix the game, cos imo this game, without too many issues, is the best in this genre right now
Fell sad for you😢
@@husseinhassan1055 all good, I have other games I enjoy.
Your reply got hidden oof
@@LUCAS420BLZNot surprised. Is what it is.
The game has a lot of potential and a good framework to use, but some issues just prevent it from being the best it can be. But I can at least trust Kuro as a game dev since they do acknowledge the issues head and publicly say how they will handle them if their Dev Notes are anything to go by. I still fully enjoy the game and will be my main game until the foreseeable future, that is unless Kuro does some major screw up where the game can't be redeemed.
the sad part is a gacha would be 1000x better if it wasnt a gacha
No lies detected.
Probably about 1000x less profitable too
@@kinorobloodlust ok but companies dont "need" a billion $ ... they want it
I wouldn't be so sure, the gacha economy allows them to continuously put out more updates and add more content. If it wasn't a gacha it wouldn't be free to download and play and it'd STILL be riddled with microtransactions like suicide squad or Destiny
@@zacziggarot anything other than gacha is better
haven't watches this yet. but i can already say that THIS. CHANGES. EVERYTHING.
Perfect timing to watch while i eat
I pass toa with my level 60 characters, I swapped weapons and echos with my level 80 characters 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤😊😊😊
Srry mtashed but u not being able to dodge or parry is most likely a skill issue, i play at 170 ping and i can still parry and dodge diff 6 mephis so yeah...
It could also be that his body is now catching up with his age and he doesn’t know it yet.
And I'm going to disagree - with all the technical issues, I'm experiencing exactly what he described.
@@TheWaifuConnoisseurhe is not that old 😂
34:15 Very true! Big point in my experience aswell.
Mtashed and Burnout is married to each other. Happy honeymoon phase kekw
Its the same for every gacha game tho,
Yeah I like tashed man but I foresee a burnout coming very soon😂
@@skeethh he already complained of burnout in one of the streams where he review/discussWuwa with another 3 CC.
@@susbedo9258 if that’s actually true then I’m not surprised at all lol
I hope they add a load out for echo now lol. It's so good when you can just change it with one click.
Fr, esp when we can share weapons on the tower of adversity, we should have loadouts so we could swipe echo sets easily
