Michelle make the cabochon or heart ect, then take it out pour a drop or two of uv on your print and squish it on. That way you can check for bubbles. Also you can pour silicon on those inprint plates and make inlays that can be lay on top of resin let dry and the print will be there when resin is dry.
I have discovered that using black UV nail polish is the very best for backing my jewelry anytime I want something with a black back. I use a few coats depending on how dark I want the black. Also anytime I have rough edges on my UV projects I just use a rotary tool with a sanding round. Works like a champ!
Another great tutorial video !! I have never tried this with film don’t know why. I have all to give it a try. Thanks for some tips & tricks on this. Have a Blessed Day Michelle
That was fun! I love the inlays. I think they were my favorites. My first thought when I saw the presses was making coasters, I always learn something when I watch your videos. Hopefully, we will be 30,000 strong soon.
Hi Michelle, they all came out fantastic. You truly have the best subscriber’s. To get all of those inlays in a friend mail is amazing. Have a blessed day.😊
I love these! The heart is my favorite! And those inlays Kimberly made us are AMAZING! I am already planning what to do with them… THANKS KIMBERLY! And Michelle… 30,000 is soooo close!!!! YEAH!!!
@gotmuud I'm going to try to get good photos of them and at least post the photos in Michelle's group over the weekend. Then I'll try to get ebay setup and ready to go. But once I post the photos you are welcome to pm me about getting what you want before I get ebay set up. My 15 yr old cat got sick a few weeks ago and he passed the past Monday, so I didn't get things ready like I had planned. But now it's crunch time.
Yes, love the embossing folder idea! I have tons. Also, try using a rolling pin that is used for polymer clay to add your pressure on the embossing folder, you will get a smoother impression. 😊
It's amazing how the look of something can be so completely different just by using a different colour on the back of it. It's the same resin, the same coloured film and the exact same process but one has a dark backing and the other a light or clear backing. They are all beautiful 💜🐾💜🐾💜
I've just bought a pair of "poultry scissors" from temu for my craft room. When you lay down your film put it on from the side so you push any bubbles to the side. For the backing, you can always layer the black so it cures x
So happy to see my mini inlays. I need to get them up on Ebay but when my cat got sick I dropped everything I was doing. Now my dog Mazie needs testing for Cushings disease. The vet bills are getting out of hand and this mama is shopping pet insurance. So, I need to sell some inlays to help pay for it. 🐕😊 I love embossing folders. You can also make inlay sheets from them. Then use chameleon powders/flakes to color like you did on the paw and shell. And don't you love those gloves? It's nice to see you not having to avoid any UV contact at all. ❤❤❤
Have you ever considered making templates from your finished jewelry molds. This way you could cut to size before and save a lot of time, energy & filing. Maybe mark the molds & use corresponding #’s to the mold. Keep templates in snack bags. Your neighbor from across the state.
Hi Michelle, they are so beautiful. Ohh ... the embossing folder for clay or anything. Its great that crafts are so interchangeable. Your imagination is wide open. It's brilliant. Have a lovely day too.
What a great idea! I’ve seen A LOT of videos but not this one. You could probably use anything to etch texture into your film. Good thinking spreading a little resin on the back of your film. You could also choose to par-cure your UV resin. Then the film will stick also. So pretty!😊
Good idea - thanks for sharing it! I use Uv resin a lot and often use black nail polish - regular or Uv - as a backing. Also, the pre-colored black Uv resin seems to cure with few issues. I don't know what “magic” they use to make it, but it works. lol!
I take two diff colors of the film and then put my heat gun (embossing gun) to it to fuse them. The I cut them in lil pieces aned put them in as a second layer after I lay my charm in it and cure that. The effect is GORGEOUS! Love your way too! 😍
Pretty results. The black background really made a difference. I have an idea for something different that you could make with your leftovers. I watched another creator made push pins out of hers. Obviously the molds have to be on the small side. Like your tiny rose mold for example.
Hey Michelle =) I love how those turned out, especially the little inlays, I really need to get some of those! I have a suggestion, when I am resin crafting I use an electric nail file with the little round pads, it makes very quick work of sanding with very little effort. I would love to see you try that method
Might I suggest tracing the heart onto your film with a sharpie. Then cut the shape out just inside your sharpie mark. It should then just fit inside your mold without all the cutting at the end. You can also make your black a bit darker then do thin layers of it on the back of your pieces. Just put a couple of layers on it should cure just fine. This is the way I do mine. Adds extra time but you can get the black darker on the back and make it stand out just a bit more. Everything turned out well. It's the inlays I haven't done much on myself. I really like the sand dollar. In the resin it makes it look bigger. Like magnifies it. Really cool. ✌️❤️🤣 peace, love and happiness
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 you need to keep curing it for sometime up to five or six minutes depending on the strength of your UV machine. I was lucky enough that my nail girl gave me her old UV machine and that’s what I have been using. If you get one of those long, thin nail brushes to spread it, that might also help.
If you leave the black off the back, they would look one color with a black blouse and another color with a different color blouse. They are beautiful.
Julie @ Pouring Your Heart Out does the film a lot but she cut the film to shape 1st and the kinda lays it in the resin from one side to the other to let bubbles escape. yours turned out beautiful, especially the heart with bale.
My last video I did that and so many people commented to cut after, so that’s what I did. Now I’m getting all the opposite comments to cut first, it’s kind of funny 😁😁
Best way to add the film is cut the shape before putting in the resin. You then slide into resin so you should get bubbles and if you see bubbles you can press them out before curing. Just a tip still they all look good..

Michelle this is a cool concept for the first ones you did could you have put the chameleon mic powder on them then backed them in black would that have made them show up more?
I love what you did. I don’t know if anyone has said this already, however can you use the embossing folders? The paper or film will come out with an indent side and the other side is out of course try using the side that’s out instead of in and see if that helps with bubbles.
Embossing plates you can put some card stocks and other materials in between plates roll it through and it embosses the paper people use it to make cards and emblems for anything and everything. That is a great idea though. With so many colors of films and designs on embossing plates to make ear rings, etc.
They came out great. I really like the inlays. The shell one with the bubble reminds me of a tiny pearl, cause it's perfectly centered. Too bad you couldn't make the bubble white so it looks MORE like a pearl. Anyway, great job! 👍❤ Oh, would it help, with the film ones, to cut the shape of the film to fit the mold? Just an idea, cause I'm just a newbie 😅.

If you cut the film next to the cabochon, after UV resining it on, and then back coat it... How does it stay together? Doesn't the back coat only stick to the film, and not have contact to the cabochon? I'm always worried about that with my coatings.

You could use a brayer roller to roll over the pattern , you would have more control on pressure that way.
I have a small scissors with rounded blades that might work with circular molds. Got it as a pair at either Temu or Amazon.
Black magic marker the back, let dry, then clear UV over that and cure..😊
Michelle this is a cool concept for the first ones you did could you have put the chameleon mic powder on them then backed them in black would that have made them show up more?

You could put the teardrops on a bookmark.
A clay roller (or fondant) would be great for doing the embossing on the films. You could get great pressure on it. 5:18
To prevent bubbles can you do a partial cure just until it's tacky and then add the film?
Ohhh.. it's so pretty 13:05
They all look so good.
We buy the machine because we use embossing folders for much thicker materials than film and doing it by hand isn’t gonna cut it.
You should try doing the resin paper in those plastic things!
