Dave you’re making the world a better place for each child you’re helping. That’s an amazing thing and not something I could do. So thank you for what you do. I can’t begin to understand how hard it is to do what you are doing, but please know that we love and respect you for doing it. Rant away on here whenever you need to mate, Big hugs pal ❤️

What I’m seeing in this video is someone with incredible self awareness and incredible emotional intelligence. The cycling element is entertainment, the emotional element is inspiring.

You’ve got way more energy than most of us put together, so if you’re struggling it’s because you’re taking on a huge amount of responsibility. Stick in there, you’ll learn to manage and cope as your experience grows. Good times are always around the corner.

You're doing great work Dave, it's more mentally and emotionally demanding than some of us realise. You're always open and honest in the vlogs and looking at the comments that's what we appreciate. We're always here with an ear.

You don’t have a job like most folk and this work will rattle, hurt and confuse you due the kids you look after. You come across as a vulnerable, sensitive and very honest guy who currently is trying to squeeze a quart into a pint pot. I have worked/helped just briefly with kids who struggle in the education system and are under social services care. It broke my heart to see these kids with such broken lives and I only did voluntary a half a day a week with them. Keep your chin up and keep doing your thing and it’s wonderful. 👍👍👍👍

The reason we love watching you is because of vlogs like this. There are really very few creators who are open to such a degree. Life is hard sometimes, and we can't always get the things we want, but we keep going, like you are now. The responsibility you've taken on is definitely not something everyone can do, and I for one applaud you.

I feel what you're saying. Having twins recently, I haven't been able to ride or keep myself as healthy as before, but I'm amazed of seeing my children grow. Hopefully they will find enjoyment in cycling as myself so that we can ride together in the future

It's tiring and it's hard. Physically and emotionally.
It's also a total pleasure to be able to watch you and see the hard work you put in, then first hand, see it make a difference to the kids, little wins each days.
You look after them, I'll look after you.
    ❤️

This is your channel, you should feel comfortable talking about the things you want to talk about. We the audience, are lucky to live your experiences through what you share.

Dave you a ray of sunshine.
I've put myself through hell in 2024. It really was a close call.
I had not only hit rock bottom I went through the floor. I've probably only rode 100 miles this year.
It took for me to hit the bottom before I realised I can't do it all on my own. And had to accept my baggage And I needed help. I was ready to throw away my home, My partner and my children.
Thankfully I'm already thinking about getting out on the bike again.
Dave you are a ray of sunshine on a rainy day...

Dave, I have been following you for several years now, and I love how you have taken on new challenges, taking risks like becoming a full time TH-camr. But with your ADHD, you contend with other factors, that most of us do not even comprehend. My son has ADHD, and I know he can become overwhelmed, and seeing you today reminded me of that. Looks like you need to take some pressure off for your own well being. There is nothing wrong with that. Take care.

I admire your desire to make the world a little better, fostering children is huge undertaking and just remember when some of those kids get older they will remember you for the difference you made in their lives. What a wonderful legacy. Also I am agnostic on 12 or 11 speeds. Cheers.

Put some flat bars and mudguards on that bike for winter. Also, you're awesome for taking on the responsibility of a young person in need, and it's good that you are letting out how super hard it is. Holding that in, would be bad for all. I'm American and even so, can appreciate you for being real.

Without people like you Dave there is little hope that these youngsters will find their own positivity, what you are doing is hard and draining, in 10,15,20 years those people will come back and show you the love and energy you gave them ! Winter commuter bike. Lets get more peeps into cycling as transportation and clear up the air. Quite understand your rant. In some circles this is known as 'getting out of oneself" to take another perspective. Yes, your SO deserves a medal. Kids are more important than exotic 100km rides or races. I've found a 30 minute ride to the shops always brightens my perspective. ALways appreciate your vlogs. My fave channel in fact.

If you were an influencer complaining about how hard being an influencer is, I may listen but probably wouldn’t have a lot of time for it. You’re not doing that, you’re talking about the challenges of being a carer and almost all carers feel that way… it a bloody hrs job!!
There’s a famous saying in healthcare - ‘who cares for the carers’. If people don’t look after the people looking after those in greatest need we will be in big trouble! They do an incredible hard job and often get very little support.
Vlogs are much better as honest and genuine stuff. There was a GTN video recently about mental health and suicidal ideation which was very though-provoking and much better than saving 2W from the latest sponsored bike brand!
I live in a neighbouring village to you and always happy to be a stranger listen to you voice your thoughts or go for a coffee… also happy to talk crap about saving 2W from tyre choice.
Keep the real videos coming. It’s why people listen. However, make sure you get the help and support you need. Reach out if you want an ear/coffee/hug! You’re doing one of the most challenging jobs going. You’re not moaning and if you were, you’d deserve the opportunity to do so anyway!

Wishing you well, Dave. Pls know that your videos really don't need to be universally positive. Seeing your real person's experience is much more relatable. (Also the narcissistic influencer you described _isn't_ an "American" thing, it's a geographically agnostic immaturity thing.)

I understand. But I think that you are just experiencing a NORMAL range of emotions. There are Highs and lows. But if you are fostering kids, surviving cancer and God knows what else, then you are going far above and beyond what most people go through in a lifetime. I don't know you, but you seem very unselfish about it. I say, "GOOD ON YOU, SIR!". I myself am struggling because I have many things going on at once and it's overwhelming and at the moment, I don't see an end to it. ... But I know there will be a time when I can slow down ... at least a little bit.
