Those were sold as Coleman tea candle lanterns. Mine came with one candle inside and one in the base. I find their very impractical, though. They don't stay lit.
I've only run mine for half hour to an hour at a time but I don't know any issues with the blowing out. I have three different styles now and prefer the most basic one but I'll be putting together a side by side video of a bunch of them so anyone who wants can have a look.
I made my own candle's, don't use hemp wick's, they don't ash out like cotton. You'll get an over burn and carbon build up half way though the burn. Hemp wick's work well but you need to trim them constantly.
@@BlindGuyUrbanBushcraft I'm still experimenting with these ucos. Today I made some 50/50 beeswax and paraffin plend. I'll let you know how this goes... I hear paraffin wax don't create carbon monoxide... Might be false info. But sounds true.
These lanterns would have to be compared to the UCO mini, not the original. They can't be hung because if they swing in the wind they will leak melted wax. Not bad for the money but you do get what you paid for.
I just bought 3 of these

How do you think jute twine would work? I'm thinking of making one up and using twine just cuz I have a roll of it.

Any carbon based fuel, including paraffin may release CO. It's the efficiency of the burn that counts. @@JohnSaylock-ec4cd

I had one just like that over 25yrs ago.
I don’t think you use a votive candle for that. I think you should use a tea light.
Yept like candles were great with it
Can't see a thing.
Sorry you can't but I have that same problem all the time.
