Nice review! You brought up so many good points from your experience. You are an amazing couple! I just obtained my first e-bike and it's a fat-tire 26" bike similar to the one your highlighted in this video. I've been an avid biker all my life and ride two older, but very reliable Schwinns on a trail that intersects our street. I get in - some weeks - over 50 miles on those. I'm sure the e-bike will expand the miles. Thanks again for your information review. First time to your channel. Subscribed.

I bought a lectric bike, love it. I use it to run errands around downtown and my neighborhood for now. Have to finish some upgrades to my Rv, so ready for some travels. Safe travels 😀
I bought my CCX back in 2019 and absolutely love it. My only grip with it is that it does extremely poorly in the snow. I dont ever ride in the winter or there is a chance I might encounter a small patch of ice that hasnt melted. If it was available back then, I would have gotten the RCS step-thru just for the comfort and better stability on snow and loose gravel. I might as well get another RCS for the extra battery I can bring if I wanted to bike tour. One battery isn't enough for long tours. I took my CCX from Idaho Spring to the top of Mt. Evans, and the battery just about died as I reached the top (28miles 6,700ft+ elevation). I wish there was a battery extender on those bikes for those looking at touring with them.
Yes. We loved the RipCurrent StepThru. Our CCX's are our daily riders. We feel comfortable going 70 miles, but as the battery gets older you may only get 50. We notice a big difference in battery usage when using more pedal assist. We try to keep it at eco, 1 or 2. We do know some exciting things are in the works at Juiced. So stay tuned!
We have two Juiced Rip Current S (no-Step Through Frames) and we LOVE them. Reliable and FAST! We put 1500 miles on them with ZERO issues. Just added a 2nd rear 21ah rack battery, so we can now easily do 100+ miles per charge @ 20 MPH; almost no effort when you "pretenddal" (act of sitting on an eBike and ING to PE). Putting the RCS in R (Race Mode) and changing the wheel size setting (tricks the controller into thinking you are going slower vs. your actual speed) and we can get up to 39.9 MPH! Simply exhilarating!!!
You guys are such great TH-camrs! I’m in the market for an e-bike and you two knock it out of the park with your knowledge and presentation. Definitely an inspiration! I’ll probably buy this bike 😀
Yay! We so loved the Rip Step-Thru. We hope to see you out here on the bike trail someday. Be sure to use the special link to save $ and get the lowest possible deal. Happy riding!
If you plan on biking our trails around Spokane or North Idaho or the trail of the Hiawatha you can't use anything exept a class one and can't exceed 15mpg when riding. I have a fold away tern vectron 9. I use an Abus alarm lock. I store it inside my camper when travelling. Weight is 45 lbs.
Yes, it's good to know the rules for where you are riding. The Juiced RipCurrent delivers as a Class 2 and can be unlocked as a Class 3 if you are off-roading or if it is allowed in your state. Sounds like you have a very light bike! Happy riding!
Sadly, the Swagman E-spec, 70 pounds per bike, RV fifth wheel approved has been on back order forever. I changed the link so that people don't buy that rack by mistake. Thank you!
Upon Paul's review of the Juiced Cross Current X I bought one too. Perfect Bike for me. I don't need a car most the time. comparable bikes in new york stores are $4,400. and they can't have the throttle option
Very interesting we recently bought two electric bikes and are extremely satisfied because of the portability and the fact that they fold up the only thing that I wish is that we had probably bought the step through models. Thomyt
Yes E bikes are the way to go for sure! See you on the bike trail next time we are in your neck of the woods. We actually did have some great rides in Santa Barbara and Ventura.
My wife and I love your channel! We are both very active and looking at ebikes to help "see more" as we travel. We like the Juiced fat tire models and have been watching your reviews. I have a concern though with many reports of bad battery connectors shorting out, etc. Have you experienced anything like that with your time with your model? I've seen examples of different connectors being refitted into the battery setup. I would expect a 2k plus bike to be solid in the electrics area!
Hi there was a problem with Juiced battery connections a couple years ago. Paul's cross current X from 2018 had that issue. Since then they redesigned the connector and there have been no issues. We both ride new CCX's now but there are definitely times I wish we'd kept the Rip Step Thru. In fact, if I had to do it all over again I would have!
Love it! I was hoping you would do some informative videos on ebikes while you get your repairs. I would love to hear your thoughts on all these ebikes that are promoted by rv you tubers. What are the good bad and ugly points? Folding - is it worth it? Hope to see more.
Hi Cindy, I've seen a couple of videos from fellow TH-camrs about the Lectric 2.0 and while we have no direct experience with the bike it does seems to offer a good bang for the buck. Keep in mind that they are able to hit the price point by installing a fairly small battery (48v 9.6ah 480.6 wh) which is going to limit the range somewhat, but you will still be able to get a solid 20 miles out of the charge, which isn't bad. And before you ask, Yes I see they claim a 45 mile range but like EVERY e-bike on the market they tend to streach that value to what I think to be an absurd level and I try to estimate what I think are "real world" values. Thanks for watching! P.
We have two regular Juiced Rip Currents (non S), bought when on sale in March for $1599 - $100 discounts. (Partly thanks to your reviews & because of Juice's hydraulic brakes and torque sensors at this price point.) These have the smaller 13ah batteries, but work fine for our needs. We just did 45 (flat) miles on Trail of the Coeur d'alenes, ID. (Beautiful.) I could have done a bit more (and I weigh 250#) and my wife could have done quite a lot more miles - but our "bums" were tired!
Oh my gosh! So very glad to hear you did that bike trail! We just posted two videos from that trail on our other channel, Amazing Bike Rides. We feel like we hit the jackpot with that ride! We did 40 miles both times we went, once from Plummer to past Harrison and once from Cataldo towards Harrison. So you got us beat doing 45 miles with your Juiced!! We actually passed two Juiced Rips the day we rode- would be too funny if that was you two. We were there last weekend. Glad to hear you are out there enjoying your Juiced Rip Currents!
@@LizAmazingMight have been. We rode from Heyburn (Chatcolet - by bridge) - north past Medimont on Sat 5/29. There was a Moose "waiting" for us at the upper end of our ride! We went to Farragut on Monday - but to kayak - which was wonderful also. (We're full-timers in a fifth wheel - my wife is travel nurse and are staying north of Spokane.)
@@LizAmazing Yep - that was us! We'll have to watch your ride video. We hope to do upper section some time too and also the "Hiawatha Trail" also - I see you have a video on that.

After we passed you, I told Paul that I spotted two Juiced and said it would be funny if it was someone who watched our channel. And do NOT take your bikes on the Hiawatha. Rent for sure, but definitely worth it.
It would probably do ok, but we don’t have experience on snow to be sure. We plan to do a review on the new upgraded rip current in about six weeks. We will be putting it through its paces as we have a 335 mile trail ride planned for it. Stay tuned!
How does Liz like this versus her previous Luna X1 (recognizing price difference). Looking for a bike for my wife. Have a friend that might be able to get me a deal on a Cannondale adventure neo 1 with the Bosch motor... But that's still much more than this juiced bike
The Luna ended up being super high maintenance, needing new sprockets, cassette, and chains. It's a boutique bike and as much as I loved it, it was a pain-in-the-X. More than once, Paul threatened to throw it in the dumpster bc he was tired of working on it! I love the RipStep/thru and think that's the perfect bike for me, BUT it is heavy!
We don't. And ours are uncovered when transporting. In fact, our CrossCurrent has gotten a lot of rain on it and has been fine. Thanks for your question!
Awesome video guys! Hi All, Is anyone familiar with Sondors? I was looking at the Sondors LX Step through but this juice bike is in stock in August and the Sondors in November. The Juiced is more expensive but I like that the Sondors bc it has a mid drive motor. But the opinions start flowing 😀
I have ridden the step over version. But looking at the two of you riding the step thru version makes me wonder if this would work for me. I was wonder how tall you both are as that can help me judge whether this bike will work. If you are 5'6"or 7" that says something about the fit of the bike.
We rode the step over version (which we reviewed here: th-cam.com/video/wD9Z4q2_gTw/w-d-xo.html ) We really love the balance of the Step Thru, it feels lighter and more nimble than the step over. I am 5'8" and Paul is 5'6".
Great Vids! Do you know anything about carrying your ebikes on the front of your tow rig? Seems like this would eliminate the "tail flop" as well as granting the driver view of the bikes. And right now trailer approved carrier models seem difficult to find.
We do! We talk about carrying our bikes on the front. There is some visibility concerns, depending on the bike and the truck. Here's our video, go to @9:00 th-cam.com/video/wD9Z4q2_gTw/w-d-xo.html

Friday I was driving down PCH...and out of nowhere my stairs dropped. They hit the pavement. And there went my stairs and toolbox...gone. Most of my tools and wheel chocks...All over PCH. Right now the dog and I are Jumping in and out. I removed the destroyed parts. It's Not tragic. The stair box is just wood, attached to a metal frame kinda inside underneath and it was mostly gone. There was some wood rot where it broke lose. The frame of the coach and door frame are fine. You can't even see any damage from outside. I've got the wood and with luck will have it back together by Tuesday....wow that was really scary. This is our Home, and this is the first damage. I'm a great coach driver so I never worry. I wasn't ready for this....no more motor stairs for me. I'm not even going to add stairs when I put it back together. Scared the crap out of both of us and I can't drive with a German Shepherd on my steering wheel shaking like a leaf....
Oh no! So sorry to hear this. I know how things can happen, but that sure is crazy. I hope it's all put back together and you are back on the road now. Safe travels!
@@LizAmazing I had to wait for the sheet metal to come in, now I can finish the stairbox. I really lucked out since it's just the box and Not the Coach or frame/body...easy and cheap to fix without going to a shop.
Hi John, Paul here, I didn't realize it was so obvious but I Do prefer my Cross Current X (CCx). As I've mentioned in a couple of our e-bike related videos I Love to go fast so the fact that I can get a few extra MPH out of the CCx is a huge reason for staying with that model. The other almost equally important consideration is the weight, I never thought 10 lbs would make such a difference when loading but Holy Cow does it ever! Thanks for watching and commenting! P.

Sure can! Ebikes allow you to go further and tackle hillier terrain than traditional bikes. Plus you don’t have to worry about saving enough energy to get back home.

Hmmm no skit ending I see; drat! Im looking for an ebike that has 2 seats, one in front for the husband and one in back for the wife, like a lounge chair for her with a small table and sunshade so she can put her feet up, read a book, go on the internet, talk on the phone, go on the computer etc...may need an extra battery for this model eh!! at what point does the ebike cross over into motorcycle level licensing according to the motor vehicles act I wonder...

Yep, Juiced has one of the biggest batteries on the market, better brakes and other higher end components. Thank you for watching and for your comment!
Paul, you look like an avid bicycle rider and I am sure you know the importance of proper fitment of bike frame to the rider. Both of your height should have been mentioned at the beginning of review because it can mislead shorter rider to order the bike and end up returning the bike because it is too TALL. A 26 inch FAT tires is around 30 inches tall. By checking the specs of the bike, if you collapse the seat post all the way down, the minimum riding height probably around 33 inches.
Sure would like to see an E-bike for people who have balance issues. Guess that won't happen just because of weight, size and not functional for most athletic people.
It can make it 60 miles but can it make it thru 40 Miles of Bad Road? LOL, just a joke referencing the Duane Eddy song. If you don't know that song listen on TH-cam.
Thanks! Paul knows Duane Eddy’s music. And funnily enough, just today we went through some rough muddy rugged roads on these bikes and we made it 45 miles with plenty of battery to spare.
People naked get money off for taxes to somehow you can get 30% back. I'm stuck with the bike I have right now I got like $800 just in the two batteries. I want to get a solar charging system make my own because they cost $700 and all it is is a solar panel and a step-up AC DC adjustable converter. It would probably take a day to charge three batteries though
I (Paul) get a headache everytime I start researching how to set up a solar array and charge controller for e-bike batteries. I know it can be done, but it just doesn't seem to be cost effective to do it. E.G. Assuming you have a 48v e-bike battery you're going to need at least 4 - 12v panels connected in series to produce the 48 volts and then you'll need a sunny day to produce enough power to get the battery fully charged and that's just One Battery! If you're talking multiple batteries then I think you're going to need more than 4 panels if you want to charge them all in one day. Maybe someone with more experience than me can chime in but this is my best quess.

I was so lucky to get my e-bike last year in three days in July of 2020. It is an ecotric Hammer bike. I am trying to learn how to bleed the brakes but I can't get the brake pads. I ordered some from Australia but ecotric says it will be three or four months they said that two months ago. Hello from Batavia New York to the cutest couple on TH-cam. I hope you got your trailer fixed. It looks like you're in a house. Marijuana Factory that looks like a really nice bike. How good is that battery? I like those handlebars I'd like to get some like that. The handlebars on the ecotric hammer might look cool for cruising around town but going 30 miles it's painful. Well hope you had a good day

They are the best! Glad you are enjoying them. That's a clever trick about the wheel size. I am sure Paul would love to race!
Good, That would be scary hiking with motorized bikes zooming past you! Not everyone is thoughtful.
Thanks for the review!... Which Swagman hitch rack are you using to carry your RCS? Your link to the Swagman "Current" is only rated 60lbs per bike.
Sadly, the Swagman E-spec, 70 pounds per bike, RV fifth wheel approved has been on back order forever. I changed the link so that people don't buy that rack by mistake. Thank you!
Another great review! Love this bike!
Thanks Ken! Join us on a bike ride, here's our video about that: th-cam.com/video/BmQh0Gzrz40/w-d-xo.html
Upon Paul's review of the Juiced Cross Current X I bought one too. Perfect Bike for me. I don't need a car most the time. comparable bikes in new york stores are $4,400. and they can't have the throttle option
Yeah, we are really pleased with Juiced. Happy riding!
Excellent video. What would be your choice for a bike that is off road only and some nwarley terrain?
@@stevebarry5413 So now I had to check my video: Were you wearing a checkered shirt, wife in a peach plaid shirt with a blue helmet and blue backpack?
@@LizAmazing Yep - that was us! We'll have to watch your ride video. We hope to do upper section some time too and also the "Hiawatha Trail" also - I see you have a video on that.
@@stevebarry5413 Email me and I'll send you a screenshot if you want. Love how you both are smiling!!! After we passed you, I told Paul that I spotted two Juiced and said it would be funny if it was someone who watched our channel. And do NOT take your bikes on the Hiawatha. Rent for sure, but definitely worth it.
They have updated the motor on this bike to 1000 watts.
Would you recommend this to climb hills even on groomed snow?
Thanks for the awesome videos !
It would probably do ok, but we don’t have experience on snow to be sure. We plan to do a review on the new upgraded rip current in about six weeks. We will be putting it through its paces as we have a 335 mile trail ride planned for it. Stay tuned!
Do you have a video reviewing what Liz rides?
Was the rear rack centered to follow the rear wheel????
I would think.
Thank you. I live in San Diego and will definitely check them out
Yes Juiced headquarters is not too far from you! So many great rides in your area, we loved biking the Strand.
Question for you. Ordered a Juiced bike Crosscurrent. When hauling on bike rack do I take battery off while hauling in case of rain?
We don't have direct experience with Sondors. The bike certainly looks like a lot of bang for the buck. Hope someone here answers you question.
Thanks for the info. Eventually, I’ll be getting a step-thru bike as it’s getting harder and harder for me to throw my leg over mine. Lov’in Kentucky!
Yes, I love Kentucky so much! Glad you are enjoying it as well. And yeah the RipCurrent Step Thru is really great- we loved how it rides!
We are shopping for a rack for our ebikes for the rear of our fifth wheel , which one do you use ?
There is a link in the description, here it is:
Robust bike rack for ebikes and RV-compatible: amzn.to/3kxx4gS
Like anything bike related, there has been a shortage. Keep looking around and if Amazon is out of stock, perhaps the E trailer has it. Good luck!
Amazing content. I hope you can do a throttle only range test for these bikes. Thanks!
We are hearing 54 miles for throttle only. That is what their website says. That is pretty impressive. By the way, the $100 off is for a limited time only as they have had increased costs. If you are interested, buy soon. Use this special link to get the best prices: alnk.to/58jAjud
Thank you really enjoy your channel .. 👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you Howard, we love having you with us!
Thinking about getting the standard model is there a difference in speed or just the distance
Just the distance (size of the battery). See you on the bike trail!
I like the Rad Power Bikes. Have a RadCity Step-Thru 3, White. Runs Good and fun.
Yes, we've heard good things about Rad. In fact, here's our review on the RadMission: th-cam.com/video/I3eMHqu52KI/w-d-xo.html
I don’t see this bike on their web site. Any better info where to look?

Another great video and review! I have called Juiced, left a message and emailed them but so far, I cannot get a live person and they have yet to return my call or reply to my email. I know they ain't that busy!
They are swamped but should get to you soon. Email us liz@lizamazing.com with your question and we’ll get it answered asap
I cannot see the link to the bike racks you use. Could you please send a comment to me on what you use?
Yes, it's in the description. Here it is: Robust bike rack for ebikes and RV-compatible: amzn.to/3kxx4gS
@@LizAmazing sorry, not seeing the heavy e-bike rack still?

@@richardgallagher9834 They should be back in stock soon.
@@LizAmazing sorry, I thought they were bigger, that is the one. Thank you!
Paul you look so much more comfy on your crosscurrent then that Fat-Bike step thru.
I'm pretty sure that is Farragut State Park
That's right! Good eye! If you want to go on a bike ride with us in the real world, here's our video about an upcoming bike tour we are doing: th-cam.com/video/BmQh0Gzrz40/w-d-xo.html
My girlfriend and I just started our TH-cam channel traveling full time! Subscribed to learn how successful channels do things. Any tips how to grow my channel past just family? Granted we are only on 3rd video posting Saturdays at 5pm.
You could get 20” fold up bikes that weigh far less, you actually pedal ,they are smaller and much lighter weight.
Sure can! Ebikes allow you to go further and tackle hillier terrain than traditional bikes. Plus you don’t have to worry about saving enough energy to get back home.
Great Video!
Thanks so much! We now have an ebike playlist, check it out: th-cam.com/play/PLSTkbVK0L14VAOJivDCprYn7Cs904xhBc.html

I recognize that beach lol, nice bike
Yep, I bet you know right were we were. Other scenes included Farragut State Park.
@@LizAmazing yes i noticed you were at Farragut also 😁
Great looking bike. Only problem for us non-RVers is that its not foldable ...

Now that would be a great!!! Do let us know if you find one. But, yeah, a motorcycle with a sidecar may be the answer!
@@LizAmazing that scenario is starting to look like a 60s James Bond movie eh!!

Just wondering, you are not paid by them, correct?
Hi Tammy. No, we were not paid by them. Here's a video, now two years later, of me biking with this bike (new upgraded version) in National Parks. Check out the $100 off coupon code! Anyway, we both LOVE these bikes and rode from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to Washington DC on them. So fun!
Good video and nice bike's! Just way too expensive.
Yes, Juiced has a very good sizing chart. It's under "details" under each bike model. Definitely look at that and measure your inseam. Thank you!
@@LizAmazing What is your heights?
Sure would like to see an E-bike for people who have balance issues. Guess that won't happen just because of weight, size and not functional for most athletic people.
Your best bet would be an E trike. That way you don't have to worry.

@Fred Jr - we wondered if anyone was going to comment on that cow!
Well hope you had a good day
B W Sadly, that code expired. You can get $200 off using their code, I think. So sorry. But FABULOUS bikes- enjoy!
A niche bike, I don’t see it as a bike I would choose for the RV lifestyle. Too heavy.
