Ive just brought my dream ute after years of searching 2015 lux. This is hands down my dream boat.
Couple more years and I’ll be a very proud HB raised owner.
Anyways…
Tent idea:
If the tent could be telescopic, during a hot day used as a shade sail, also adding another upside down U pole a meter down from where the other one is would be perfect to keep feet dry while sleeping, and still enough room to fish out the back on a wet day. Also if you could add an internal lip to the floor, sitting on the inside of the tent so water cant run back in, maybe its not needed due to the angle of the boat idk.
I cant wait to tinker away with my own! One day hopefully sooner rather than later!!

Perfect setup Oli, but guaranteed 100k plus. I wanted one but realized out of my price range. Came across Andrew Hill a jetski guru fisherman. I ended up buying a ski and pimping it out for fishing and diving for a third of the cost. All the best on the water bro, stay safe and love your new set up. Can't wait for all the new adventures.

Base setup currently around 48k. This one prob around 70k def not 100. JetSki are awesome, great for day trips but obviously not for what I do overnight etc! Good luck out there!

I loved the tent mode setup! The only suggestion I have for now is the citronella essential oil to get rid of mosquitoes... I use it on my hat and clothes and on my hammock when I'm camping on the southern west coast. You have to recharge two or three times in a day, but it works great, and it is natural stuff.

As for the tent, maybe if you use the outside shell that you have there as a "fly" and then have and inner piece that has clips to hang off the poles on the inside and allow a sealed space for no mozzies ect?
Might help with moisture on the inside of the tent ect

Senator❤. Logic/reason for fitting the navigation ( port&starboard) lights where they are exposed and prone to damage? Modular idea is great = one/same boat customizable for various scenario's/ situations. Excellent.

I run a Yamaha too and super reliable but I am thinking of putting an auxiliary on to add a bit more confidence further offshore. You do some trips well out from the coast and you don't have a second motor. Would be pleased to hear your thoughts on that. Thanks

Hi there, Yes, you do have Senator Boats now in Australia. See Senator Boats website for the list of dealerships. Both Great boats. There are reasons why I chose Senator over Stabi but won't go into details here. Lot's of reviews and forums online discussing the pro's and con's which would help you make up your mind. Cheers!
Would one of the new Jimnys tow one alright you reckon?? I know you have kicked about and towed a boat in one before... Wondering if its a combo that can work
That Jimny I had struggled even on hills with the irb setup. Hence why I moved on from that, but having said that, it would be fine on flats and stuff, it’s just big hill ranges where you struggle. I guess it depends on how often and where you need to tow etc. the jimmy’s are very cool and bloody epic off-road but you would prob be better just owning a cheap shitty old Subaru wagon or something like I had which towed this fine. Really would want a 2l engine I reckon

I saw yours is about 70k. Affordable but also almost as good for a bit less
Hi there yes there are options to reduce the cost, base spec rate starts around the $50k mark, just contact your nearest local NZ dealer for more details.

You will note that our hardtop boats have fully sealed chambers to the top of the gunwhales and variable deadrise hull design. We were the first chamber boat maker to follow this design path.

I don't get it. An open (wet) boat with a tent? Most 5.5 m boats have a cabin with bunks. Are those too small or something?
Not sure what you don't get. A cuddy vis an open boat is quite a different boat and both have their pros and cons. I prefer an open boat. more deck space for one. it's only a 5.2m boat also.

A very different boat. All modern pontoon boats end-up looking somewhat the same especially with a bit of wrap etc.
