If done right, I would be for a Netflix series or movies that are in the X-years future. Like some machines and humans fighting against others that want to go back to the full old Matrix slavery? Then you could have machines and people bouncing in and out of virtual, and you get both perspectives on various subjects? But a full reboot, please god no.
imalive and Neo doesn’t have a purpose, only a choice. Smith asks him “Why?” And he simply responds “because I choose to.” Fatalism vs Existentialism. I.e., Neo make his own purpose instead of mindlessly following the one that he was programmed to follow.
Smith says purpose is what was taken from him by Neo, actually. It's what caused him to become a virus to the system as he was angry about being robbed of purpose. He has neither choice nor purpose, Neo has both.
Not true at all. The reason why Smith got destroyed in the end was that Neo was Jacked into the mainframe during that battle. As Oracle told Neo "When the purpose of a programme is done, it has two choices. It can either return to the source and be destroyed or Hide somewhere in the Matrix. That's what Smith was doing. He didn't return to the source for deletion on its own. But when he copied on to the Neo, he got delivered to the source.
@@Kejsler Machines transported his body back to the Zion. Of course he died. Smith was copied onto his conscious and the machines had to destroy every trace of Smith.
@@Kejsler The Matrix wasn't destroyed after the final fight. It reloaded for its 7th version. And the equations will still have the remainders in the newer version. That remainder will take the form of The One in the 7th version as well. Thats what Sati meant.
Gaberiel Pierre didn't Will Smith also say, had he taken the part Val Kilmer would've then played Morpheus??? I know that would not have been as good as Larry Fishburne if it was true.
I have a couple of other interpretations. Smith and Neo are different sides in an equation. Neo getting stronger equals Smith getting stronger. By killing Neo in the end, one side is getting zero. So the other side had to go zero too. The Oracle knew this and played along, hoping to create a situation that would make the machines willing to accept a truce or peace. The architect / machines did not know this. Hence the ending comment "you played a risky game."
That’s 100% what I took away from but very well said. I’m stoked to see how the story unfolds for the 4th movie and how it all ties back into the original trilogy
+Tom It's more complicated than that, from what I understand. Smith had to infuse his code with Neo's code while Neo's body was jacked into mainframe of Matrix, so that the Machine God could eradicate (through Neo's body) Smith and reboot the Matrix. And only Neo's body could work for that purpose because for some mumbo jumbo reason Neo's body/consciousness on it's own, was linked to machines ''in real world'' on far greater level than any other casual human.
1st Matrix movie as a young kid blew my mind. The sequels after I didn't mind but the first movie was something different I had never seen before. Still one of my fav movies.
I hate when people says reloaded and revolution are fails. They are the right continue to the first film, which is just an intro to the real matrix plot
So basically the machines always allow rebels (free humans) and "the one" so that they can seek out the weaknesses of the Matrix. The Rebels think they are beating back the matrix and the machines and freeing mankind but in actuality they are only strengthening the Machines hold on humanity because those rebels showed the machines the weaknesses in their matrix and now the next version of the Matrix (humanity's prison) is that much stronger and harder to fight back against. And this is supposed to keep happening until it is perfected
The Architect said they already taken over Zion 6 or 7 times and have become very effective at it. What does that even mean? Almost seems like there is multiple universes or timelines or simulations. I'm so confused when he said that. Can anyone explain this?

@@thecircle8568 That's kind of what the role called for though. I mean, if the part was supposed to be a regular guy and he did that performance you would have a point but he was doing the character. I would love to see him as Brainiac based on that role. :)
John Wick series is the sequel to the Matrix. Just like Smith could exit the Matrix in a human body, Neo could copy his mind into the Matrix while his body died and thus continue to exist as a program. Unfortunately, he lost his memories in the process since it was never done before. Nobody knows Neo copied himself so no one can find him, not even the Architect, because when he copied himself and lost his memory, he basically formatted his mind and also lost his The One unique signature so now he's seen by the Matrix as just another program. That's when John Wick starts. It's inside the Matrix and Neo is just trying to adapt. Some of his combat skills were left in his code so he decided the best way to exploit those would be to become an assassin. Why an assassin and not just a Kung Fu trainer or something benevolent? Well, because when he merged with Smith, some of Smith's code was left in him, corrupting him but not entirely. That's why he chose to retire and start a normal family. Explains his almost superhuman combat skills, his bullet sponge abilities, Laurence Fishburne appearing again (it's his mind trying to put itself back together showing him familiar faces) and especially the last scene of John Wick 2, when all the people in the street start watching him, quite a Matrix-y moment if you ask me, like what are the odds that there's a professional hitman every 5 meters in one city?

No one likes to give this movie credit for making a superhero like battle before the marvel cinematic universe happened, back then when i seen this battle it made me realize we had the technology now to make movies where we could see superhero fights as depicted in the comics.
KingsN' Jenssons came to say this. When I saw the fight in Smallville, Man of Steel became one of my favorite movies. Don't even know how many times I've watched that fight.
One thing that wasn't mentioned regarding the final battle with Smith was that the prime Smith had copied over the Oracle, and that Smith was the one fighting Neo. That's why he said "Everything that has a beginning had an end, Neo." It was the Oracle speaking through Smith, encouraging Neo to accept being overwritten by Smith, causing not just a fusion of sorts between Neo and Smith, but also including the Oracle. Upon being overwritten, the machine Mecha sends a fatal virus through Neo's physical body into his form in the Matrix, which has become the prime Smith. This virus corrupts him, amd subsequently all the other Smiths, causing 'splosions, also killing Neo in the process.
It baffles me how everybody simply forget what the Architect told Neo, about the origins of his powers and the fact that he is the "one": the One is just a concentration of several bugs in the Matrix. The Matrix is composed of many systems like time, space, gravity, physics and else. The Architect states that most of these systems have flawns and gliches that cannot simply be fixed (I wonder why), so he just sweep them under the carpet. What he does is to distribute these flawns and bugs on individuals inside the Matrix. The same individual may host more than one of those gliches, and eventually one may be "gifted" with several gliches from the most important systems. Upon gaining conscience of those "gifts", such individual would be able hack the Matrix itself and even scaping it, all the way to the core of the machine. This is the One, the individual who holds the exploits of the major Matrix systems, thus the power to reach (and compromise) its central server. In fact the One having the power to severly crash the Matrix was its the real bug, he was the sum of problems from the most important equations in the Matrix. Upon exploding Smith Neo created another bug, which was also able to hack the Matrix systems. Given that Smith main purpose was to destroy Neo, Neo himself inadvertly created a correction for the bug he was. That's why the Oracle explained him that Smith was just the other side of the equation trying to balance it. Smith was not a problem, he was the correction for the major Matrix bug: Neo. But Smith didn't understand that either, in his head he just wanted to destroy everything, but when he finally destroyed Neo he lost his purpose, he balanced the equation which allowed the Matrix to reboot instead of crashing. In the end the profecy was not about a future where the One would save the humanity from the machines, its real meaning was that the One would cause so much problem in the Matrix that the Machine would have no other way to save it without the help of the humans. Neo being a human asked the machine to spare the humans in Zion, which the machine had no way to refuse since the One had (inadvertly) compromised its security through Smith.
Dome Firmament in a way, it is. Instead of saving us in Zion, we look to ourselves and become aware like ‘oh shit, my actions have consequences upon the world and others... better tread carefully or else...’ it’s not about forgiveness of sins, it’s about becoming self aware through free will and like Jesus, Neo sacrifices himself for others to realise the bigger picture: it’s up to you. He served his purpose and quite literally danced with the devil FOR us and made the devil (in Matrix’s case, Smith) realise that he needs humans to do his bidding so it’s in his best interest to not corrupt us all. There’s a balance. P.S. Yes, i am Christian catholic but not THAT kind of Christian catholic.

I’ve always marvelled at people’s dislike for any but the original Matrix movie, when to me the whole trilogy was The Matrix. I loved them all! God Bahamut Reloaded challenges too many people's existing beliefs. I thought people died at the moment they were absorbed by Smith (conciousness of Smith copied into the human brain), but now that you say that, I think your explanation has more sense. I suppose the body must be alive for Smith copy in the Matrix not disappearing. But when there is no conciousness in the brain (Neo popping all the Smiths) the body dies or the conciousness of previous person wasn't erased and reboots? That's the doubt I have now.
@@marcguerracodina3747 nah it's not that complicated. The program that is smith originally was designed to track down imbalances in the matrix exp "the one". kinda dumb that movies like the matrix need a video to explain the ending when anyone who fricken watched all 3 wouldn't have a trouble understanding the ending. I guess people are to stupid these days?
1:00. Being t'he One' wasn't programmed into Neo. The One is an anomaly which randomly occurs by chance in the Matrix. Let me explain: Let's say there's a Matrix, without the 'choice' of rebellion. A perfect, 'unperfect' world. Like the Matrix within the movie, but without the rebellion. One day, by chance, luck, whatever you want to call it, someone will notice the Matrix by 'feeling' it. That person is what they call 'the one'. Neo, in the beginning was not the One, like the Oracle said. At least not yet. But later on he became the One/ a the One after freeing his mind by unmasking the fake reality.
Not quite; "the one" is an aggregate of all the unstable code caused by the small percentage of humans who reject the matrix, but is not necessarily someone who would see through the veil of the matrix on their own. The waking up of "the one" from the matrix is something that is entirely orchestrated by the machines.

As many times as I’ve watched The Matrix Trilogy, I never linked Sati as the machine world adopting the concept of love. It was re-released in 4K a few months back, giving it a rewatch.
I think the rule of Smith is not well explained. In the first movie, even before new shattered him at the end, Smith was rogue. It's evident in the fact that he unplugs his ear, and talks to Morpheus, saying with Zion he will have no use. He did not want the information for the machines, but for himself. Which is why he orders the other agents to leave the room. My only theory at this point, is that at the end of the first movie, Neo does not shatter and kill smith. But recognizing his rogue nature, he gives him the extra power willingly as an enemy of the enemy. By the end of the trilogy, existence and power of smith is the only thing that saves humanity.
I think that Smith was jealous that humans were able to get out of the Matrix. He was asking Morpheus how to get out, that is why when then other agent asked Smith what was he doing when they walked in the room where he was interrogating Morpheus. The system knew and inplanted a program in Neo's body. That is why the Oracle told Morpheus to get Neo and put a stop to the Smith program.
All of the significant characters are puppeteered by The Oracle, who does not know the future, but is in such great control of both the matrix itself, and the people she interacts with, that she can create any future she wishes. She uses psychology to have both humans and programs program themselves, and eachother. The machines do not realize that their system was hijacked from very early on, and it was done by a machine that is brazenly shown to us in the final episode of The Animatrix.
Ohhhh I bet. I watched this as a kid since then I’ve been going down the rabbit hole. The systems of control in our world is parallel to the matrix movies except that we aren’t being controlled by machines. It’s worst. Humans 😌

The Matrix was created to keep Humans alive while the Earth recovered from pollution but the system became a prison instead of a lifeboat as originally planned. The Oracle was the system that monitored the planet"s return to viability was trying to alert them that they could but the program that ran it know as the Architect was overiding that order because it's priortized keeping the Marix running above all else. Zion was the former living areas were human crews once lived before automation made it unnecessary for them to repair/monitor the machines that took over and abandoned it for the virtual world it offered. The One was an ancient safe guard that rose occasionally in human form and once he refused to reboot it Satine was the interface that finally allowed humans know that the Earth could support them again. Smith was a small debugging program that was supposed to keep the virtual reality the Matrix provided glitch free but grew to believe that eliminating humans was the best way to fix it and Oracle/Arhitect were in its way. The sunset was the message to humans in the Matrix that there was another world that wasn't virtual and Neo was going into storage like to other versions before him with Trinity being recovered as well as stored with the others who were made to link The One between the Oracle/Architect which made each..
Where are you getting this from? Theirs a graphic novel that explains how machines took over and why the matrix was created. Humanity invents AI and forces it to do all of the shitty factory jobs. After sometime the AI wants to become it's own country to enjoy the fruits of its labor. AI ennitially gives humanity every chance to recognize them as a new mechanical form of life. The machines go off and create their own country. AI rapidly outpaces the rest of the world in production and innovation. When humanities full on strike against AI does minimal damage they choose to destroy the sky cutting off the machines power source. AI having already played out every possible scenario instaniously had the first version of the matrix at the ready. The machines changed their purpose from production of goods to collection and harvesting humans. In the graphic novel the machines give humanity tons of chances their forced to this final outcome

"It almost felt like a betrayal, thinking Neo can only control stuff inside the matrix" that's called growth and story progression. It didn't feel like a betrayal at all, it felt like he was becoming stronger.
There are 2 types of causes: 1. Causes that are actually effects of other causes (another link in the chain). 2. Causes that pop into existence (primordial causes). What makes you think the way you think, or act the way you act, or choose the way you choose is either a type 1 or a type 2 cause. Regardless of the type, you have absolutely no control over it. It's always external to you. So, there is no choice. There is only the illusion of choice.
That is not necesarelly true. You got a great point though, and it really is mostly the case. But the choice still exists. But only when you consciously decide to not act automatically as your mind tells you too, but decide differently. That is the way to work out of your destiny (and karma).

To me, NEOs purpose in getting to the source was so when Smith imprinted into him the program could be identified and destroyed. Since previously Smith stated that he was "unplugged"
Well, the main purpose for neo to get to the source was to reboot the matrix, just as the five previous 'ones' had done before him. Smith was never part of the plan, but he was ultimately the reason everything changed.
Good explanation! But you missed one point: the spread of Smith is a conscious effort on the part of Oracle, as is evidenced by Smith calling her "Mom" and the Architect saying "you played a dangerous game".
Rewstch it. I was surprised by howuch I really didn't comprehend ideals when I was younger now as an adult it makes so much more sense. Don't think about the technical side of it but the ideals
Oh, yes, I knew there was an important point about this that needs to be said for those who didn't know: the story technically didn't end with the 3rd movie. After it came out, an MMORPG called "The Matrix Online" opened for business, and it used the conceit that whatever occurred in it would be considered canon. In other words, the story would now be continued by the fans, with the Wachowskis in the background doing things to drive the story, which went some fascinating places. Eventually five(!) separate factions develop in the increasingly fragile peace, and Morpheus goes crazy before he gets killed. And relating to the notion that Agent Smith is the one, new agents start appearing that look an awful lot like someone he fought with to the death... How successful this was can be left as an exercise for the reader, but I think that the Wachowskis deserve immense credit for such an audaciously original method of storytelling. And the game was kind of fun. :-) (Shout out to anyone who remembers the player "Tipareth"). I think that how landmark a series the Matrix was is only going to grow with time. It is casting a longer and longer shadow, and I think for perfectly good reason.
There actually is a huge script written by the W. Brothers that shows what happened after the movies. This script was used and followed in the game “The Matrix Online” which was a mmorpg game that launched a few years after the last movie. When neo died there was no new version, the current version just rebooted to fix Smith’s corruption. There was a peace but a fragile one. Morpheus went rogue because the machines wouldn’t return Neo’s remains to Zion. Morpheus placed code-bombs inside the matrix to show bluepills the matrix was not the real world. This threatened the peace. Morph was eventually killed by a Merovingian program.. And there is much much more too it (watch the game’s cinematics on my yt channel)
Ben van den Berg so I guess if the matrix online was canonical basically everything goes to shit again? Lol because these are the questions I had at the end of the trilogy: does humanity begin to rebuild their cities? Does the scorched sky go away? What do the squiddies do? Can humanity ever return to what they had in 1999 to an extent?
MxO was a wonderful experience for sure. As far as the story goes, you really summed up all that was related to the Wachowski vision in the op. Not long after Morpheus died Warner sold it to Sony and things got weird, then things got shut down. Props to that one dev who kept it going though.

So happy to see this video. As a teenager, I have seen the movies and remained with lots of ambiguities and confusion. That has been resolved now. Thank you
11:14-11:18 What’s interesting is that they sort of took this approach for Matrix Resurrections. With the idea that people are discontent with what they have but too afraid to loose what they already have, so they just decide to settle for what they already have and call it love.
I'm among those who bolster the theory that Neo was not the "One," nor was ever going to be. Neo was the X-factor(the true X-Factor, unlike the "One" which is a determined prophecy), the counterpoint to the actual "One" who was of course, Smith himself. The "One" is meant to fulfill a purpose, which Smith did. As stated in this video(and I would agree), Neo represents choice versus purpose(Smith). Neo does not fulfill a single one of the prophecies, while Smith fulfills them all.
Neo is The One, the prophecy itself is an extension of The One's code. It is just a lie and another level of control to have dissidents lead Neo to The Architect. He and only he can enter the door that leads The One to The Architect. The Architect explains (tl;dr here) that the one is just a fail-safe to prevent all the errors that plague The Matrix due to the small percentage of those who do not accept the code from crashing the system and destroying their current crop of humans. The code of "The One" is directly connected to the source in the machine city, which is why Neo can break the rules and everyone else can only bend them, why his mind can connect to The Matrix without being plugged in, and why he can shut down machines in the real world. Even if we were to believe The Prophecy was a real thing, "...his coming would hail the destruction of the Matrix, end the war; bring freedom to our people.", those 3 things only apply to Neo; the destruction either citing The Architect that "choosing the door to the left will lead to the destruction of The Matrix" or Smith saying that Neo's "The One" code possibly imprinted on him in the hallway creating the second anomaly that is Smith. Yes, Neo and Smith both died and returned, yes they both were part of the destruction of The Matrix, but only Neo's sacrifice brought an end to the war. Had the machines been able to kill Smith on their own they would not have made a deal with Neo to end the conflict or spare Zion and Smith's death would not have fulfilled the prophecy. Neo's sacrifice is the only reason the humans were granted freedom, Smith was simply the leverage.
@@jerethkhan You could be right tho. Perhaps the anagram of "One" from "Neo" suggests an "anti-One" - the anomaly that makes the true One (Smith), a possibility. After all, Smith's goal was to BE the Matrix. The only one.
PPKNexus Im pretty sure Smith is an Anti-Virus to the humans created by The Machines. From our perspective. Smith was the Virus and our view of it all turns out to be correct. Smiths file became corrupt or something and started infecting The Matrix so the machines struck a deal with Neo. A human. They no longer saw Zion as a virus in what would otherwise be a near flawless device. By Smiths very nature of being an anti virus turned virus. He couldnt be the one. Neo has to be. Neo is like winning the lottery, Smith is like dying by a falling helicopter.
Do you think they'll ever reboot or continue the Matrix universe?
yes they’ll definitely continue it

well... I could watch a new Version of it, not a reboot, but the next generation post Neo... The Smith doesn't have a choice but only has a purpose. Beautifully explained.
imalive and Neo doesn’t have a purpose, only a choice. Smith asks him “Why?” And he simply responds “because I choose to.” Fatalism vs Existentialism.
I.e., Neo make his own purpose instead of mindlessly following the one that he was programmed to follow.
it was inevitable
Smith says purpose is what was taken from him by Neo, actually. It's what caused him to become a virus to the system as he was angry about being robbed of purpose. He has neither choice nor purpose, Neo has both.

They're taking the hobbits to Isengard
Not true at all.
The reason why Smith got destroyed in the end was that Neo was Jacked into the mainframe during that battle.
As Oracle told Neo "When the purpose of a programme is done, it has two choices. It can either return to the source and be destroyed or Hide somewhere in the Matrix. That's what Smith was doing. He didn't return to the source for deletion on its own. But when he copied on to the Neo, he got delivered to the source.
And what happened with Neo after the fight? He is dead? Or he is matrix itself? Where did the machines transport his body?
@@Kejsler Machines transported his body back to the Zion. Of course he died. Smith was copied onto his conscious and the machines had to destroy every trace of Smith.

But then in the original movie, in the scene with he woman in red, Will Smith would go "das hot, das hot" like he did in that youtube rewind video! :D
Ah so that debate and argument at the end makes sense. No wonder the architecture said that peace will not be long
That’s 100% what I took away from but very well said. I’m stoked to see how the story unfolds for the 4th movie and how it all ties back into the original trilogy
Are you saying they are programs?
@@joshuasmith4230 Since Humans can get overwritten bei programs, they can be considered as similar. So..yes.

It's more complicated than that, from what I understand.

One thing that wasn't mentioned regarding the final battle with Smith was that the prime Smith had copied over the Oracle, and that Smith was the one fighting Neo. That's why he said "Everything that has a beginning had an end, Neo." It was the Oracle speaking through Smith, encouraging Neo to accept being overwritten by Smith, causing not just a fusion of sorts between Neo and Smith, but also including the Oracle. Upon being overwritten, the machine Mecha sends a fatal virus through Neo's physical body into his form in the Matrix, which has become the prime Smith.

@@geminiwriter8875 yeah be careful of our actions become self aware but the real Jesus forgives and doesn't seek perfection out of us because we are not hooked up to a machine we aren't perfect we are humans programmed in inperfection so Jesus came as a middle man to Yahweh we will always have room for growth

One of the ways smith did this without alarming others in the matrix was to morph into the person nearest to the one. Unlike neo who's job was creating chaos by performing inhuman spectacles. Smiths job is to restore order out of that chaos. Smiths power only increased as neos power increased, checks and balances
@mandellorian You are seeing the tree and not the forest man, this movie had undoubtedly huge impact in our way of thinking and perception for the ones willing to listen. It is a spiritual movie.
The one, Zion, the Matrix, makes you question what is our meaning of life, are we just pointlessly working 9-5 to be able to pay for food and shelter only to be able to go to work again, or is there something that for some reason we cannot see? Like the truth.
Just thinking about our brain usage compared to our brain capacity makes me understand that we dont even know 0.0001% of the world yet, on top of that imagine the power of spirit/energy we possess, the possibilities could be endless.
This movie is one of the best, and propably the best for me, it reassured me that i have a much longer way to go that expands beyond this life and many, perhaps for eternity.
Peace!
This is timeless because of the way the story is written. " you believe it is 1999..."
yeah.. and they don't even know anymore what time it is.. that's what always bothered me about terminator.. how the hell do they even know what time it is anymore after going through endless war for centuries.. no tech is safe anymore.. at one point all clocks are dead.. how do you keep track of time? i mean for me it would be like right now every second till some robot gets me..
but crazy that it's only 3 month and it has been 20 years since the first matrix movie came out.. we got the first movie on vhs and watched it on those old crt tvs.. damn.. i was 12 back then.. time flies..

1:00. Being t'he One' wasn't programmed into Neo. The One is an anomaly which randomly occurs by chance in the Matrix.
Let me explain:
Let's say there's a Matrix, without the 'choice' of rebellion.
Thank god, finally someone else that understands this.
Neo never had a choice. He was programmed to be the One, because he is a program called the One. He is no human.
Not quite; "the one" is an aggregate of all the unstable code caused by the small percentage of humans who reject the matrix, but is not necessarily someone who would see through the veil of the matrix on their own. The waking up of "the one" from the matrix is something that is entirely orchestrated by the machines.
@@GarretsShadow Not quite: It's bin a while, but I happen to recall the Architect telling Neo that the occurring anamoly was out of the machine's range of interference.

Sinom Irneja omg I almost had a seizure trying to understand but if he didn’t kill smith then where is he?
I think that Smith was jealous that humans were able to get out of the Matrix. He was asking Morpheus how to get out, that is why when then other agent asked Smith what was he doing when they walked in the room where he was interrogating Morpheus. The system knew and inplanted a program in Neo's body. That is why the Oracle told Morpheus to get Neo and put a stop to the Smith program.
I'm pretty sure Neo's goal was to destroy Smith, not feed him power. How that actually happened, who knows. Not important anyway, it's just what's so.
I remember downing some shrooms and watching all the movies back in the day, reality has never been the same after that.

Ohhhh I bet. I watched this as a kid since then I’ve been going down the rabbit hole. The systems of control in our world is parallel to the matrix movies except that we aren’t being controlled by machines. It’s worst. Humans 😌
Lol My friends and I did the same back in the day but it was liquid! I saw the movies already but my friends didn't. We dropped some hits and had a Matrix marathon. Nobody even said a word! Just watched with jaws dropped. In between one of the movies one of my friends asked we could take a break, he needed to go talk to God. Lmao But honestly after that night I haven't looked at the world the same way either! 👍
Social media is the real Matrix.
The only difference is that we willfully enter that prison.
uttblackboard If Neo, the kid, & the Athlete taught me anything, it's that you can choose to unplug.
Version 7 of the Matrix was the ultimate foreshadowing of the coming of Windows 7 😂
You're giving the movie way too much credit. But nice explanation

- The Matrix Reloaded : Smith ambush, Highway chase, The Twins, Merovingian, Persephone cs
- The Matrix Revolutions : Niobe cs, War with machine at Zion, stop the sentinel, neo got blind and he can see everything that people can't see, final fights with smith, and die

The Twin Towers real-life prophecy, made in 1999, two years before 9/11 actually happened. To understand what I mean, watch it for your self @ 1999 Matrix (1 series) where, for the first time, Morpheus takes Neo inside the ‘matrix stimulation’ - that scene with unnatural solid-white background, two of them, couple of leather chairs and the old tv 📺 ) - Morpheus shows to Neo: first, an image of skyscrapers in downtown New York (view from the Hudson River) and then the Twin Towers (from above) and saying “this no longer exist in reality” ((not in those exact words, I’m too lazy to look it up to quote his words precisely; but with that exact meaning - Check it out for yourself. I find it above everything else, hmmmm.... fascinating....).

There are 2 types of causes:

"You played a dangerous game" It makes so much sense now!
theres so much symbolism and stuff that makes you think in this movie. absolute classic trilogy
To me, NEOs purpose in getting to the source was so when Smith imprinted into him the program could be identified and destroyed.
Since previously Smith stated that he was "unplugged"
Basically
Well, the main purpose for neo to get to the source was to reboot the matrix, just as the five previous 'ones' had done before him.
Smith was never part of the plan, but he was ultimately the reason everything changed.
it was like a horucrux (Harrry Potter) connection between Smith and Neo

I wish they'd make another matrix online, was my first MMO. It was fantastic.

Where's the Matrix, Lebowski?!
Lol because these are the questions I had at the end of the trilogy:
does humanity begin to rebuild their cities? Does the scorched sky go away? What do the squiddies do? Can humanity ever return to what they had in 1999 to an extent?
Thank u dude! I'll be sure to give it a watch!
I'm definitely rejecting that. They probably just made that story as an excuse to make an MMO.
W. sisters now lol
MxO was a wonderful experience for sure. As far as the story goes, you really summed up all that was related to the Wachowski vision in the op. Not long after Morpheus died Warner sold it to Sony and things got weird, then things got shut down. Props to that one dev who kept it going though.

What’s interesting is that they sort of took this approach for Matrix Resurrections. With the idea that people are discontent with what they have but too afraid to loose what they already have, so they just decide to settle for what they already have and call it love.
maybe love is a trap. the new way the machines control
".....and watched Trinity die for the 35 minutes." Hahahahaha
Agreed.
@@jerethkhan Nah. Neo is *reactive*. Smith a proactive agent who is, ultimately, the One who makes the "peace treaty" possible
You called it!!! That last line got me!! Good job!!!
